Ridiculously delicious omelets and very generous portions; worth the money! Staff is very friendly! Nothing but great things to say about this place!

A friend recommended this place as we were passing though. We arrived a half hour before closing but the staff didn’t seemed bothered by that at all. We were seated right away and served very quickly. Servers were really attentive and very friendly. The food was great! I ordered a custom broccoli and cheese omelette and my boyfriend ordered a western omelette. They were both huge portions. I’m not a big fan of home fries in general but my boyfriend loved them. Location wise it seemed like a nice area. Brick sidewalks and sort of a cute downtown vibe. Inside was nicely decorated as well, very clean. Not the usual country kitchen style décor. Might be nice I they had some outdoor seating somewhere. Everything was also very fairly priced. Breakfast spots are generally expensive but this place wasn’t much more than a usual diner. I happened to look at the table next to us who had ordered waffles and pancakes and they were also enormous. I imagine just one pancake is enough for one person. Looked amazing and I would definitely like to come back and try either! Definitely recommend this spot for breakfast.

Go here for breakfast with my ladies! Service is fast & friendly, warm environment to share a cup of coffee and some pancake silver dollars for a reasonable cost. Always fun to take a stroll on the green when there’s nice weather out. Cute diner, definitely recommend it for an easy & delicious breakfast place.

Went for breakfast, service was slow and I am not sure why because everyone around us already had their food. But once we did get service, it was good. Very cute place although could use some updating. We will go back though.

Came here awhile back with my fiancé to grab a quick breakfast. We’re not often in CT but I found this on Unilocal and it seemed okay — I mean we were just getting eggs, nothing crazy. I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich and they forgot my eggs. How do you forget eggs in a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich? Lol. I know I was clear and when I brought it up they were a bit rude… not cute considering that it was their error. I asked if they could bring me eggs cooked over easy — but you would think they would have offered them on their own. I did eventually get my eggs but by the time they arrived the rest of my sandwich was getting cold and my fiancé was almost done with his food. In all it tasted fine and it was cheap so I got what I paid for. Service was fine throughout the rest of our meal. My beau got a coffee refill and they were quick to keep our glasses of water full. 3 stars, but I wouldn’t come back here again unless I had to.

Went on Christmas Eve around 11 – 12 for a nice brunch. Had to wait in line for about 10 – 15 min, but it moved quickly. The food was delicious! I got a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on a hard roll and the loaded hash browns. The breakfast sandwich was huge! And delicious. The loaded potatoes were to die for. They come in 2 sizes: half and full. I only got the half size and couldn’t finish them. My date ordered something off of the specials board. I forget exactly what it was, but he said it was delicious. Definitely will be going back!

Use to be a great place to go but its gone downhill for the last 2 yrs. They cater to a certain clientele and I guess I don’t fit. Clientele. when you ask for something so small as a refill on your coffee and they just walk by and someone that’s not Hispanic or black as for a coffee after you and they jump. last time I ever go here and I hope over Hispanics stop going in to way better place down the road

I will NEVER go here again. The manager was rude, abusive, and nasty. We planned to meet another couple for breakfast, and arrived before them. The restaurant was less than half full, and when we asked for a table for four, we were told that we could not be seated. When I pointed out that there were many parties of 2 already sitting at tables for 4, the manager started yelling at us and told us to just find somewhere else to eat. When I pointed out that the restaurant was half empty and had plenty of open tables, the managed yelled even louder and demanded that we leave. We did leave, and we will never go back.

I’m giving this place 3 stars because I came out of my way for just a decent meal. There is nothing crazy special about this place or vastly delicious, in my opinion it’s just a good breakfast place with some decent food. Came here for Breakfast last Wednesday with my wife, had the corn beef hash, with a side of home fries, bacon, and oatmeal with brown sugar and blue berries. The home fries were excellent, the hash… It was just good, not the best I’ve had but still good, it was lacking that«wow» flavor I think. Bacon was nicely cooked, not too crispy. Oatmeal was good too but the blueberries weren’t fresh. Kind of disappointing, still though no complaints. Final input, if you live in the area it’s good, not worth a 20 minute drive though.

We love The Pepper Pot! We’ve eaten here for 20 years and it has been consistently good the whole time. I can’t remember a time we left here disappointed. I have had business breakfasts here. We have had a casual lunches. They are all good! Try it, you’ll like it.

Pepper Pot is obviously a popular diner and the constant 20 minute wait proves that they have plenty of regular, return traffic. However, they’re not exactly consistent. The first time I went, something tasted off about the eggs, like they were from some premade mix. The coffee was burnt, and service was slow. The second time I went, I had fast service, delicious food, and left with a smile. I’ll be returning again, but if the food and service quality don’t stay consistently high, I’ll be looking elsewhere.

I have always wanted to try the pepper pot and was very disappointed, The pancake was cold and rubbery where it was difficult to cut, my eggs were overcooked and brown, and our waitress was rude, I will not be coming back.

We came here for breakfast and were very disappointed, first off the eggs were cold(not sure they were real eggs) then the pancake was cold and wouldn’t melt the butter. The pancake was very rubbery and chewy. I was eating a few bites of the pancake when I found something floating in the syrup bottle. I stopped eating the pancake. And in the end our waitress never came back and asked how the food was or if we needed anything else. Poor service. The place was not busy at all. No excuse.

It has been a while since I’ve ate at a diner. Since I’m a fan of breakfast and with friends I couldn’t pass up the brunch here. They’ve got an extensive breakfast menu full of eggs of every style, pancakes and waffles. Normally I would get an omelet but they have something called the Pepper Pot Scramble, which is eggs, cajun chicken, bacon, and sausage all scrambled up and topped with cheese, which I couldn’t pass up. My friends ordered an omelet and one had a particular order which I at first thought would have been a bit high maintenance but it was no problem for our waitress who was completely prepared to do order gymnastics to get my friend exactly what he wanted. Breakfast came and wow that Scramble was delicious. Every bite was chock full or meaty flavor, and I also decided to get a side of turkey hash, which was equally awesome. Though I did end up taking the hash and some home fries to go. It was honestly too much for me to eat in one sitting. Most of the dishes come with your choice of toast and home fries so you’re definitely getting your monies worth and the table had conversation cards. I found this particular table accessory pretty neat. It gives people something to do besides check their phones for the latest FB update or something. This place has easily become one of my favorite breakfast spots in CT.
