This was the second time I used Nyren’s and I couldn’t be happier. I live in California and I sent my mom flowers for Mother’s Day and her birthday. They always deliver at a good time and the flowers look better than the internet picture!

We used Nyren’s for our wedding last May 2014. It’s taken me awhile to get around to reviewing them out of pure laziness. My husband, mother, and I all feel that Nyren’s turned out to be our best vendor. The price was incredibly reasonable — I don’t have a single friend who got their bouquets, corsages. and boutineers for a better price(we did not order ceremony or center piece flowers). The owner Paul, although a bit talkative and tangential was able to help us arrange beautiful bouquets. The flowers were delivered on time with a very small delivery fee($ 10 I believe). We were especially impressed with their flexibility from the moment we walked in the store. We didn’t have an appointment and were stopping in just to see what the shop was like and schedule an appointment. They moved some things around an agreed to meet with us right then. Additionally, my husband and I live in VA so were planning all of this from out of town and he was very flexible surrounding meetings to finalize information as well as payment. We definitely recommend them for your wedding. The only reason I’m not giving them 5 stars is because of a few misunderstandings(calling me when the instructions were to call my mom, taking more than a day to get a return call).

I was interested in ordering flowers for a funeral and did not live in the area — this was the only flower shop I could find in Avon so I called. My initial call I had a so-so reaction but ended up ordering from them because from my google search, they appeared to be the only game in town. The woman who took my order was rude, and did not seem to care ATALL that this was for a funeral. She was dismissive and did not seem to be listening to my order. I should have cancelled the order right then and there but didn’t. Later in the day, after the funeral services had begun — I got a voicemail that the flower shop driver could not find the location. I called her back and confirmed again where the church was in Avon and she said«I thought you told me a different town.» No — it was the same town where the flower shop is located. I strongly do not recommend anyone use this flower shop for any business. Even if it’s Valentine Day Weekend — have some common courtesy and business sense for someone who is calling for Sympathy flowers.

I’ve been using Nyrens for years. They are really attentive to what you would like and being far away are the best option for in town delivery. I send my mother flowers once or twice a year and they always arrive on time and are beautiful! Glad to see a small store surviving in this economy.

My fiancé and I went to Nyren’s because we were interested in booking them for our wedding. First off, despite having made an appointment a few weeks in advance, the person who was taking care of us was the only one in the store while we were there, which led to constant interruptions every time a customer came in. This stretched what could’ve been a 30 – 45 minute appointment into almost 2 hours. Secondly, when he was actually sitting down with us he was not very forthcoming with suggestions. Neither my fiancé nor I know much about flowers and he didn’t do a very good job explaining much of anything at all to us. I had brought multiple clippings from magazines to use as examples for what I wanted but he didn’t really give us any answers one way or another if he could provide something close to what I wanted. Lastly, the estimate we got was quite a bit more expensive than our budget. As it turned out, the $ 100 coupon I had won from a bridal fair would have just barely covered the transportation costs to the wedding. Granted everyone’s budget is different — but we were never even asked what we could afford. That was one of the first questions from the florist we eventually ended up using. In conclusion, even though we’ve never actually purchased from Nyren’s, our experience with getting a wedding quote showed a lack of professionalism that was very disappointing.
