This has been my nearby happy hour spot. Half half select appetizers and drinks. I have tried the lychee martini which is sweet and girly. Also live the calamari and the soft shell crab lettuce cups. However, they do rotate their selection so did notnhave the hot crunchy shrimp this visit. Their chocolate malt cake and carrot cake is the real reason why I celebrate my occasions here. Huge slice of cake whoch they pour on extra dark chocolate sauce or caramel sauce and candied pecans for carrot cake. They were nice to give us a baked aslakian which they lit up at the table. Great service and privacy at this place! Be sure to do happy hour on the weekends as well!

Everything we’ve had here is great. So far only been to cocktail hour a handful of times but after trying many awesome-prized appetizers, we will soon be making reservations for dinner. The cocktail menu is great 6 – 7 items for 8 – 14 each and half priced drinks. We’ve noticed every time we are here the change the menu, so we are always in for a nice surprise. Cocktail hour runs 4:30 — 6:30 daily(yes even on the weekend), and fills up Fast.

Started out poorly but am optimistic. Served rather slowly, manager made«it right». Will see. Oysters and crab, good choice, well served. Good beer, good live music, and conversations with other customers. I would come back for sure. All good.

Celebrated another birthday at one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Cindi made it a special experience and was very attentive obviously knows The menu and the wine list very well. Love that we get a couple of mini cakes with a happy birthday written in chocolate.

Trulucks is a great seafood restaurant tucked into Southlake Town Square. We have frequented their other location in Dallas, but were thrilled when they opened another restaurant near us so we could get our fresh seafood fix more often. We go here mostly for special occasions — birthdays, anniversaries, etc. But we really try to go when it is soft shell crab season and we can’t get to Florida. Wait staff is great and knowledgeable with great recommendations of wine pairings and what’s freshest on the menu. Never had a bad experience at the Southlake or Dallas location. Highly recommend if you are a seafood lover or not.

As good as it gets due to my fabulous host Branden, In our special booth we dined not on meat but oysters, scallops and fish. All delicious. We supplemented with expensive wine and cocktails and fresh fruit and cream to top it off. The service was impeccable and the mini torch I left with has proven to be a trusty memento of a great night and many more to come. Do dress up and do take lots of lolly as the bill will not be for the fainthearted. I should probably return to check on their prime rib. Thanks B Boy!

Excellent service and phenomenal food! I have lived in the area and tried most of the restaurants nearby. I finally made it to Trulucks and it has the best service and food combo in the area. I will definitely be coming back!

Always delicious! Trulucks is my favorite in Southlake. Lucky for me I live 1.5 miles from it. You can’t go wrong with the salmon or sea bass. Also the best crab in the metroplex. The lobster bisque is out of this world! The service is excellent. They have a great wine list. The bar is awesome and they do have a happy hour with great appetizers and cocktails/wine. The parking is a challenge if you don’t valet.

The steaks and service here have been impeccable and flawless for years, at least the 3 years we have occasional dined here. We enjoyed the Hot & Crunchy Shrimp for the first time tonight and it was indeed hot and crunchy; the cilantro and mango salsa made it divine. The paper-bag dessert is also incredible. It’s a $ 25 dessert and quite large(SHARE), but let me tell you about it. It’s a cake cooked in a bag, hence the name and shape. It comes covered in scrumptious crunchy and delectable toppings and then a Godiva chocolate sauce is poured all over it while you watch and salivate. The End. However, I’ve got to tell you about a couple of things I found tonight that I don’t like… the butter has a freezer or fridge burnt taste to it and I don’t love the female managers. They are kind, but do not put off the class the other managers I’ve met here do, nor do they«fit the bill».

I usually dine at the Uptown or Addison location, but some work peeps wanted to check out this location. Parking is non existent so please bring cash and tip the valet. The bar was so crowded when I arrived to meet everyone that I actually stood outside and waited for my party. I think it was close to the end of happy hour, so that’s probably why everyone was squished in there like sardines. Thankfully our table was ready so we didn’t have to cram in the bar! Our server was amazing. I feel terrible for not remembering her name. We had a very large party, some of which showed up late and had dietary restrictions. We had tried calling ahead and ordering Kosher meals, but by 4 pm they had sold out. It’s actually a separate company that brings the meal– 3 courses, all served on china plates. To start we had several apps and some drinks while we waited on the rest of our party to show up. The stone crab claws are amazing, of course. I also really liked the salt and pepper calamari. It didn’t need the accompanying sauce, just a squeeze of lemon! For dinner I ordered the miso sea bass and my plus one got a pound and a half of king crab legs. Mine was delicious and so was his. I don’t know if there’s anything better than king crab dipped in lemon butter. We couldn’t finish it, so we passed some off to other diners at our table. For dessert we literally ordered one of everything. The chocolate bag presentation is fun to watch, but not really that tasty. Then again I am not a big fan of chocolate. My favorites are the key lime pie and the carrot cake. The cinnamon nuts and sauce that come on the side of the cake aren’t needed. It’s so good. We ended up taking one to go! Our table was pretty large, we had several kosher diners, delayed in ordering and basically shut the place down. Our server was on point. She never showed anything less than a big smile and eagerness to accommodate us. She kept the table cleared of excess plates, kept our drinks full and we never really had to ask for anything. I know we will be back!

Extremely nice establishment. The ambiance was great for the date I was on. We were seated very quickly but it took the waiter quite a few minutes to acknowledge our presence. Once we were noticed he was very attentive. My date and I both ordered steak(sirloin for him and filet for myself) which came at the requested temperature. The flavor was decent but could use just a hint more of seasoning. We shared a key lime pie near the conclusion of our dining experience which was mediocre at best. I should’ve gone with the carrot cake because it appeared to be extremely tasty but I’m a huge key lime pie lover so I had to enduldge… I wasn’t happy with the quality of the crust or the filling. Despite my ok experience with the food the atmosphere was amazing. I will return for that reason alone and try a different selection with the hopes of a better experience. If for no other reason you should try it for the experience.

This is one of my all time favorite restaurants to dine at. Whether you crave surf or turf, Truluck’s has the best there is. Personally, I like a bit of both. I have to start off with some stone crab claws. Their menu lists medium, large, and jumbo sizes. They occasionally have colossal size claws, but you have to ask for them. 1 jumbo or colossal is a great appetizer for me. The big boys aren’t cheap. $ 25 for a jumbo, and the price varies on the colossal. A round of oysters on the half shell is a must. They use the smaller oysters; these guys are from the colder waters. More flavor less slurping. Truluck’s brings out all the normal condiments with them: horse radish, cocktail sauce, etc. I think half a dozen oysters are $ 18. You can’t go wrong with a center cut filet, cooked medium rare. You can elect to get a topping for the steak as well. Options are pontchartrain, bernaise, and I can’t remember the rest. Personally, I like my steak plain and simple. The steak comes with some garlic mashed potatoes, which are the bomb. I usually get a side of spinach as well. If you have room for dessert, get the chocolate bag. Yes, bag. Its a «paper bag» made entirely of chocolate, filled with shortcake, fruits, and whipped cream. The server will mix it up for you. It is absolutely fantastic. Their coffee is french pressed right at the table if you decide to get a cup of joe. I usually get a cappuccino. If you get a cocktail, they love to use ice spheres. All in all, go here. But prepare to spend a few bucks. A nice dinner for me and my girlfriend, with a couple glasses of wine, was nearly $ 350 including tip.

Best place to get stone crabs. Great ambiance, live piano player. Ahi tune is amazing. This place has good happy food and drinks. Get there earlier because everyday of the week they fill up fast. If you love carrot cake you found a place that makes amazing carrot cake yum yum yum.

My wife and I went here to have our first dinner after getting married. We were already floating pretty high, but the wonderful staff at Trulucks far exceeded our expectations and made our night truly special. We were warmly greeted and immediately seated(we had reservations, but it’s nice to know they were paying attention and expecting us). Our waiter, Ryan, was very helpful in explaining the menu and guiding us to make decisions. The manager, Chris, also introduced himself and gave congratulations and some champagne to get the evening started. He told us we were in great hands with Ryan and to let us know if we needed anything. We started to feel very welcome and comfortable! For an appetizer, we shared a seafood platter for 2. The platter is a good size, and everything was fantastic. The downside to the platter is you want more of everything. That’s okay though, because the main course follows promptly behind. The seafood platter has 2 oysters, 2 shrimps, 2 medium stone crab claws(the medium ones are still huge and the biggest I’ve ever seen), and a crab dip type thing. I’m not sure what it was. It was basically just crab and some lettuce and some sauce on top. We are it with crackers are were very happy. For our entrée we had the sweet and spicy Icelandic cod and a 10 oz center cut filet. We had the dishes split and the chef did a nice job preparing a good looking plate for us. The steak was perfectly cooked(it better be!) and had a great pepper seasoning. We had asparagus as the side, which came with a good sauce. It was creamy and went well with the asparagus. The asparagus was huge! Very meaty. That covers the left side of the plate. The right side was the cod. It was a very pretty piece of cod served with thinly sliced jalapeños, a radish, some tomatoes, a scoop of some blue crab guacamole, and a little taste of a sweet and spicy sauce. The cod was served on a rice pilaf, and all the flavors went together great. I loved the fish, the wife loved the steak. We were both happy with the whole plate. For dessert, we had a chocolate bread pudding. Wow! This dessert is super chocolatey. If you love chocolate, you’ll dig this dessert. It has cherries jubilee spooned on top and is served with some vanilla ice cream. Super yummy! The wine selection is mostly higher priced bottles, but we were able to pick one of the cheaper selections and it paired well with the fish. Not so much with the steak, but it wasn’t offensive. The waiter, Ryan, was helpful in making suggestions. Trulucks helped my new wife and I have a fantastic night together and we really enjoyed it. Thanks to everyone who made it special!

This should be titled SAVEDBYSERVICE! Let’s walk through the evening. I was in Southlake for business last week. A colleague and I stepped into the restaurant and were greeted pleasantly. It was a quiet evening(not to many patrons) and we were seated near the hostess stand. Here is where it goes downhill… the waitress walked over and asked«what can I offer you gentlemen to drink?» Nice except my colleague is a woman. Fair mistake that really irked my colleague. Short hair does not equal man. Moving on… for dinner we both ordered the filet. Yes, I know it is a seafood restaurant but most high end restaurants do steak equally as well. This is no exception. The filet I received was done medium rare… the mashed potatoes with parmesan were equally tasty. Unfortunately, my colleague ordered her steak Medium Well. Now don’t get me wrong, I understand cooking a medium well 3 inch thick cut is difficult if not impossible. The chef should have butterflied it and cooked it. Instead it came out and was sent back 3 times. YES3 times. 1st delivery was RARE… more like flip flop and drop actually. It never really ended up fully cooked. My dinner was done and taken away by the time she actually just said fine and kept it. Now here is where you excelled. We didn’t have to complain… in fact, I’m not sure we actually said anything really. The manager arrived at the table and apologized. He then proceeded to offer another steak and when that was refused, he comped this one. He then proceeded to insist on supplying 2 desserts for us to share. We had the carrot cake and the crème brûlée which was made with Grand Marnier… GENIUS! So in the end, I found something that I had not expected. Service with style. An manager and waitstaff that took responsibility for what they serve and made every attempt to make it right. I would go back if I’m in the area again. EXCELLENTJOB!

First timer tonight. I will say the service was great and you can tell it’s something that is emphasized. I felt valued and taken care of all night. That goes for everyone from the hostesses to our waiter to anyone else I may have come into contact with. It’s all in the little things… was I greeted upon entrance and exit of the restaurant, was I told or shown to the restroom, did that requested straw ever come. .the answer tonight was yes. They had a pretty nice restroom too. Loved the magnified mirror with the light. Ladies, you understand. The food was well prepared and but I wasn’t wowed with flavor. I tried both the trout and the fried shrimp. Fried shrimp platters are pretty basic yet there can be a continuum of them from greasy and tasteless to ahmazing. This one was just okay. The fail was in the batter for me. I didn’t enjoy the bite. It felt slightly doughy like the batter was in the way. The batter wasn’t crispy, light and accommodating. It just didn’t bode well with me. I don’t eat a lot of fried shrimp but when I do I know what I am looking for. The trout was fine though not my favorite fish. I ordered a Sangria which was well executed. Overall our meal was about $ 100 which included the trout, the shrimp platter, a sangria, a wedge salad and a cocktail.

Texas is a lonely place for an aspiring Vegan. But not all is lost. I’m not super-strict about my diet, except when it comes to meat. But unfortunately I’m not a big seafood eater, either. So what the hell was I doing in Truluck’s last night? Despite having gone on this health kick in recent months, I still love to eat good food. I don’t care if it’s raw, Vegan, or vegetarian — it has to be delicious. I don’t view these changes in what I eat as a diet, but simply a healthier lifestyle. Being in Southlake on business and staying at the Hilton, I looked at all my options for food in a walkable distance. I’d already been to Pure Health Bar twice, and the popular Vegan diner, Spiral, was closed on Mondays. I knew the Cheesecake Factory had vegetarian dishes, but, face it – I’m not coming all the way to Texas to eat at the Cheesecake Factory. Then I spied Truluck’s right across from the hotel. A valet stand and a sign that read«Proper Attire Required» told me that they were at least trying to be a very serious restaurant. On the menu was a single vegetarian item: Miso-glazed tofu with vegetable slaw. Despite being into this healthy living thing for almost two months now, I have generally avoided big pieces of tofu because they scare me. I find tofu in it’s big, spongy form to be weird and unappealing. But I decided to give it a try, and guess what? Mikey likes it! By no means am I suggesting anyone dining at Truluck’s should order the tofu over the steaks and seafood, which they are apparently known for. But if a place like this can do the one vegetarian entrée on the menu as perfect as this was, then you know the rest of food has to be pretty awesome. I left completely full and satisfied, and I felt great afterward. And that was what I was seeking, given that it’s on the road that I usually pack on the pounds. Truluck’s, I’m a fan!

I really struggled with the number of stars to give on this restaurant, so I will elaborate more in my review. Made reservations for four people, 8:15pm on Monday night. My husband, Ross, really enjoys the all-you-can-eat Florida Stone crab in the past and that was our deciding factor on where to have a double-date for dinner. Table was ready upon our arrival so we were seated immediately. We were seated at a small table, in a curved booth. So small that the two of us on the inside had to eat at a corner… not a great set up for four adults. This alone would drop the experience to two stars. The manager stopped by immediately, introduced himself and gave us a business card, wishing us an enjoyable time. We were served by Chris, who was polite and professional but lacked the warmth we’ve experienced on the past. No one at our table felt any connection with him, almost as if we were an intrusion. Refills of water and coffee were quick to come and the dinner service was paced appropriately but we just felt the personal touch was missing with our waiter. Three of us ordered the filet mignon and Ross had the stone crab. The price of this entrée has gone up over 20% in the last few years, now ringing in at $ 69. More importantly, they allow only one salad or soup and one side, whereas in the past, the side dishes were unlimited, Caesar salads were good, but not as wonderful as I remember it. My 10 ounce filet was cooked perfectly — medium rare. I opted for the green beans as my side dish and was thrilled to discover they had a great mix of sweet and savory. Another guest opted for the spinach, which was also good. Ross selected the crab macaroni and cheese as his side item, and it was huge… plenty for two people. We had leftovers that were carefully packaged for transport and delivered to us in a bag when we finished the meal. The food was excellent, the service fulfilled our basic needs but our table was just too small. With one glass of wine, one iced tea, two coffees and four waters, we were constantly moving things around to make more room. It was so ridiculous since there were other larger tables available, but not wishing to make a fuss, we remained silent. The waiter and other service people had the same level of difficulty when anything new was brought to our table. As much of a Truluck’s fan as we are, we all agreed it just somehow missed the mark of a flawless dining experience we’ve had in the past. For Ross and I, with two glasses of wine, one coffee and one shot of Bailey’s, our bill was $ 195 before gratuity. Pretty pricey for playing glasses and dishes checkers on our table the whole time.
