Will not be giving this place my money again. Not only was the service bad in general, it was horrendous for a $ 200 meal(for two people). You’d think managing a table of 2 on a Saturday night wouldn’t be so bad when over half the tables are empty, but that was not the case. We were given water as soon as we sat down but then were forgotten about. Never greeted by our server or told they’d be there soon, we had to stop a bus boy to ask if we could be served. When someone finally came over, I ordered a glass of wine, and then we ordered an appetizer and salad. We got the shrimp cocktail thinking it would be your typical arrangement, but instead received 4 pieces of shrimp with an $ 18 price tag. And I still hadn’t received my wine by the time our server finally came to take our food order. I had to remind him that I even ordered it. When the food finally came, we questioned whether my boyfriends meal was steak because it was so white in the middle it looked like pork(he ordered it medium rare) — this is not a great sign. The service was terrible and the food wasn’t much better. It really put a bummer on our celebratory night. Super disappointing.

Wondered why the place wasn’t crowded at Primetime on a weekend. Now we know. Out of 7 steaks only 2 were cooked correctly. The guy that wanted to come here wasn’t even able to eat more than one bite of his steak after 3 tries at cooking it. He finally gave up and still paid $ 50 for it only to be trashed. Won’t be back here again. Bobs here come from now on. Gave 2 stars for the waitress who really tried her best. Otherwise would have given 1 star for the total experience.

My husband and I went for our«make up Valentine’s Day dinner» since this was the first time we had been childless in months. Service was absolutely horrific, our server had one other table(other than us) and she barely came to the table. It took 5 minutes for her to come up and say hi I’m Brenda, the bread is in the oven and I’ll bring it to you when I can. She quickly walked away, and we didn’t see her for about 10 more minutes where we finally ordered our appetizer and salad. She then called this place«causal fine dinning» that is a first for me? Especially with your prices. It took 10 minutes for a water refill and when I finally decided to order a drink, she rushed off without letting my husband order one. My steak was cooked a little more rare than medium rare, which wouldn’t have been a bad thing other than the amount of black pepper they drenched it in. I made a comment to the manager about how it literally was burning my taste buds, he offered to get me a new steak but at that moment I just wanted to be done. My husbands steak was delicious(bone in ribeye) We ordered an extra side of cream corn and the lady just dumped it onto the plate. I ordered a piece of Texas pecan cake(an Italian cream cake) for the babysitter since it was her favorite thing to get, she took a bite and agreed that silver fox has gone down on their expectations. The cake was super dry. For the amount of money you will be paying drive a little bit farther. III Forks is definitely worth the money, but silver fox is not. Don’t waste your time. Overall experience was horrible.

After driving past Silver Fox for many years thinking it was closed by its appearance, we finally went. The parking area is secluded and there were no windows that viewed the parking lot for security reasons. Sure enough immediately after we got out of our vehicle we were approached by a professional panhandler wanting money for a hotel room. I doubt that management was aware of this. My first impression was that it was a «speak easy» type place where Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack would hang out and then I heard a Sinatra song playing. Yup! The atmosphere was dark, a little too dark for a meal that was not a special occasion. My wife always orders chicken, but there was not any chicken dish offering other than game hen, so she opted for a burger. It was just a burger, nothing special, not great. I opted for Beef tenderloin tips. The tips were very dry, not tender, the only time the tips met the actual sauce was when they were dropped on top of what tasted like a bottled duck sauce. It seemed like they took a dry left-over steak and just cut it into tip like pieces. Pretty dreadful. The 3-fork salad was pretty average. The only thing that made it special was a few walnuts and a few apple slices. Overall, the food did not pair well with the atmosphere; it was over-rated, over-priced and under-whelming Me thinks not.

Had never been before but always knew it was there. Decided to take my wife for a pre-valentines dinner. Reservations were tight but was able to get us in. The valentines special for two is what we ordered. It came with a III Forks salad, 6oz filet, 6 oz lobster tail, mashed taters, sugar snap peas and a desert to share. The steak was cooked to perfection and was so flavorful! It was the perfect evening. I am not the kind of guy to seek out the manager but I did. He was very thankful and invited us back. We will be back!

For about $ 100 per person, I expected so much more. 3 of us ordered steaks medium rare, medium, and medium well, all 3 looked exactly the same. I was served green onion that I would have trashed at home. The dollop of mashed taters was ok, the ¼ dollop of veggies was OK. You should save $ 75 a person by going to Sizzler and getting the same thing.

Absolutely wonderful Valentine dinner tonight. Kim was our waiter and he did a fantastic job. The wine was terrific I had the pork chop and it was delicious, as was the brussels sprouts. We always have a good experience at this restaurant consistent and delicious!

I’m still sitting here in the restaurant completely disappointed. Thank God I still have another glass of wine. My husband just got done telling me his 18oz $ 65 bone-in-filet tastes like my crock pot roast. We are lol about it bc we don’t complain but holy shit this place is bad! Our steak knives were worse than Texas Roadhouse. Bobs blows this place out of the water. We were on the way there but told ourselves we needed to try someplace different. NEVERAGAIN!!! No wonder they were offering a groupon a few months ago. My husband also ordered the tomato mozzarella salad and he called it the«jellyfish snot». Ohhh terrible !!! Lol

Here are the take aways: 1.) Great service 2.) Nice dark romantic location 3.) Calamari was the best I’ve ever had! 4.) Sounds great right? But the reason why this place gets 3 stars with me is the $ 50 lamb that I got was the most bland I’ve ever had. It was undercooked, chewy, and bland. I recognize that I am a lamb snob so know that this is a studied review. 3 stars for a $ 50 lamb meal that I wouldn’t have paid $ 10 for.

My husband and I just moved to Grapevine earlier this year. We’ve been meaning to try Silver Fox, but it was a Groupon that caused us to go try it. We had such a beautiful night. Usually, when we go to a restaurant on a Groupon, we get the«oh…you have a Groupon» face. But the staff was amazing. Our server was patient, explained everything and frankly went above and beyond typical service. Our appetizer, the Beef Croustade, was amazing. The meat was impeccably prepared, and the sauce was luscious. Due to our steaks taking a bit long, without any kind of prompting, our server brought us complimentary salads. The III Forks salad was wonderful. When our dinners arrived — filet mignons — we were equally impressed. My husband is a helluva steak man, and he was solidly impressed with the preparation. I just thought it tasted insanely good. Our sides were wonderful and the wine was a perfect pairing. Definitely don’t need a Groupon as an excuse to try this place. If you want an impeccably prepared meal, exceptional service, and a perfectly decadent evening — try Silver Fox.

My husband and I decided to try out the Silver Fox for his birthday. We made our reservations in advance, but they probably weren’t necessary since the restaurant was pretty dead. We started out with the jumbo scallops, which were simply three scallops on a plate. That wasn’t really worthy of the $ 15 price tag. We shared the III Forks salad which was delicious. The lobster bisque was average and was more of a gravy than a soup. Our steaks were ok, and the sides were better than average. My husband enjoyed the creamed corn and the makers mark mushrooms were the highlight of my meal. I am sure everything would have tasted better, but it was lukewarm when served. Everything seemed like it sat in the kitchen window for a long time. Overall the food was pretty good, but the prices were way too high, in my opinion. I guess my biggest disappointment was the service. If we are going to pay $ 200 for a meal, I expect better service. It was my husband’s birthday, and no one acknowledged or even asked if it was a special occasion. Our server seemed pretty eager to whisk the plates off the table when we were done, including taking the lobster bisque before we were done with it. We’ve been to high end steakhouses all over the US, and this was by far the worst experience.

My family and I went to SF for dinner last night. It wasn’t busy, which was nice because we had out of town family so we could hear each other well. Our waitress was very attentive and did a great job. I don’t know her name, I was last to arrive. I ordered the French Onion Soup, it was good. I ordered the Au poivre steak, med rare, it was closer to med. than med rare in my opinion I let it be, it was tasty, but I’ve definitely had better. My parents ordered the creamed corn which I read was very good, but Babes creamed corn beats it hands down. Also I tried the Mac n cheese, it wasn’t my favorite. All in all it was okay! I might try again, I usually give a restaurant two tries.

We’ve driven by this place a few times but for some reason I thought it was a bar and not a restaurant. By chance, I happened to come across a Groupon for this place and my husband and I were celebrating our 3 year anniversary the next day. Perfect! The entrance was interesting. Walk in and you’re in a little room with two big black doors. Once inside its a romantic and somewhat mysterious setting. Lots of dark colors. It was odd, I could have sworn they were playing funeral music softly and instantly thought I was in the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. I was expecting the walls to grow taller at any second! Haha! We didn’t have a babysitter so my 2 year old joined us for or anniversary dinner. When I made reservations I let them know we needed a high hair and lo and behold they sat us right down and our high chair was already ready and waiting. Love it. They were very accommodating for such a «fancy» restaurant. I’m sure they probably don’t get many kids and they were super nice to our son and brought out a sliced apple for him after he started eating the apples out of his Daddy’s III Forks salad. They also put sprinkles on our ice cream dessert which he loved! So thankful they weren’t the judge-y type because we brought our kid. We first ordered the III Forks salad, my husband raves about that salad, and I got French Onion Soup which was awesome. We got the Dinner for Two for $ 40 each person, they offer a 6 oz filet for one person and an 8 for the other which was… unexpected? They should put that on the menu, because the menu says 8 oz. you get to choose one extra side with this meal deal, we went with macaroni and cheese which was very rich and good. The steaks were perfectly seasoned and it comes with potatoes(we got whipped), snap peas, tomatoes and green onions. They must be in the same restaurant family as III Forks because their food is the same and heck even their salad is named III Forks Salad. They brought a special tall candle and lit it for our anniversary, to make it more romantic, and we were checked on frequently. Great service! Wasn’t very busy either, but it was a Wednesday night. Perfect time to go if you ask me. We also got a free dessert for our anniversary and it included chocolate cake, cheesecake, ice cream and berries. We would definitely come back here, awesome staff, great service and food and much closer than III Forks!

We went to Silver Fox Grapevine to celebrate a special occasion and also take advantage of restaurant week. I dined at the Silver Fox last week in Frisco offering the exact same menu and that experience exceeded expectation! Grapevine was a huge let down. I was informed even though they share the same name, website and menu they are completely separate entities and managed as such. Good to know… The pic included is what they call their restaurant week filet, looked like skirt steak or at best a sirloin. It was tasty and tender but not my idea of a filet from a high end steak house. The 3 forks salad was excellent and the included dessert was a sliver of a piece of cake that was cut so thin it looked like someone already took a bite out of it! Pic included. The manager came over along with the chef explaining this is their version of the restaurant week offering with no real apologies but did offer a $ 20 discount off the bill which was nice. In contrast the SF in Frisco restaurant week filet was classic thick filet you would expect from a high end steak house and we received full portions of dessert as well and we left there extremely satisfied with a new favorite steakhouse! We went to Grapevine expecting the same experience and left with the extreme exact opposite feeling. Our reservation was later 8pm, maybe they ran out of the good cuts of meat early and didn’t want to cut into a new cake that late in the evening so they just used portion control ;)

DFW Restaurant Week 2 ends Sunday! Came here to try the special menu for $ 35pp. For my 3-courses I tried the 3 Forks salad, filet mignon with lobster topping and whipped potatoes and for dessert the chocolate mousse. Everything was delicious and paired very well with my Pinot noir. The portion sizes are enough for someone with a lite appetite. Don’t expect huge portions of food for $ 35pp. Mousse came in the size of a shot glass. Overall, superb service and excellent food. Great dinner experience! Enjoy! The place is very antique decorated, not sure how long the franchise has been around. Several of the dinner guests were older or business people. It’s a bit fancy so dress up when you come here or wear nice jeans.

We had a business related dinner last week at this Grapevine location. I haven’t dined at this location in over 8 years. I wasn’t disappointed. Our reservations were for 5:30PM. An early dinner since one of the team members had a flight to catch from DFW that night. This location is quite close to the Airport so it worked out well for all of us. We got there at 4PM since that is the time that the restaurant opened its bar area while dining room opened at 5:00PM. We had a short meeting at the bar to review the day’s events while sipping the spirits. It was a great time. Soon it was 5:30PM and we were seated at our table on time. I had ordered the French Onion Soup to have before the main course which was the Bone-in Ribeye Steak with Roasted Potatoes. The French Onion soup was just delicious. It had a touch of Old Bay seasoning in it and it made all the difference and set it apart from the rest of the French Onion Soups. It had just the right amount of the flavor to make it mouth watering at every bite. The Ribeye steak showed up just in time sizzling hot in its plate. Prepared just right with a little charring at the top and steak that would just melt in my mouth. This steak was prepared just right for my tastes. It was one of the better steaks that I had eaten in a long time. It was spiced lightly and flavored perfectly. The roasted potatoes were a good compliment to the main course. Great experience coupled with above average service. I will visit this establishment again.

I was not sure if I was going to post this, however I am very upset with this place. It is hard to post this bad review because they have good food. However the service here is so bad it makes the food bitter and sour. I was having dinner the other day with my girlfriend. The waiter we had was very rude and in a hurry. I never once got a refill on my ice tea. He did not even offer us dessert. The waiter had an overall negative attitude. I give the Silver Fox 1-STAR and I will not be going back.

Came in at 5pm on a Friday and the place was dead. I think all the restaurant growth closer to the highway keeps diners away. My daughter and i had lobster tail which was a small 6oz but hefty side portions. The mushrooms we’re nice though I thought the Brussels sprouts a little tough. My son loved his filet and they made fries for him even thought not on the menu. My wife enjoyed her scallops. Service was slow with us being her only table but all six employees asked us how our meal was and the drink guy refreshed tea and water nicely. Overall a good experience.

Let me start by saying I usually take a couple photos of my entrée before I dive in. The meal looked so good that I forgot all about taking a picture. I was introduced to the Silver Fox after attending a recent Unilocal event in Fort Worth. I happen to see an add for a Groupon and decided to seize the moment. If you have not dined at the Silver Fox, you should. The portions are very generous and a little on the high side. That said, the quality of the meat is second to none. I shared the Three Fork sslad with my spouse and it easily fed us both. For my entrée I chose the 8oz Fillet. You can go with the steak naked or choose from 6 different finishes. I selected the crab meat with hollandaise sauce. Fabulous might I add and made with 100% king crab meat. Instead of the baked potato I selected a side portion of the grilled brussel sprouts. This was definitely one of the finest meals I have experienced in the area. The restaurant is features dark woods, dim lighting, china and beautiful deco on the walls. This provides for a very romantic feeling. The staff is very knowledgeable of a very vast wine menu. They also offer a full bar. I don’t personally suggest bringing young children as its rather expensive and the vibe is a more romantic and intimate setting. Noisy small children would be a distraction for the other guests.

A Groupon to Silver Fox made it worth risking our eternal souls a la The Shining(see my previous review for context) and I’m SO glad we came back. To put it simply, we had the best dining experience imaginable. In addition to the delicious fresh bread that comes with every meal, our waitress delivered some of their specialty house pickles. These are off the menu but are apparently available free if you request them. They were super crisp and scrumptious and a total delight. When we asked for a recommendation for wine, the bartender was happy to come over and discuss with us. Even better, partway through the meal the manager came over and gave us a free glass of wine each. He was sampling new wines for the restaurant and had a bottle right up our alley, so he asked for our opinions on a generous pour. Awesome! The food was spot on delicious, as per usual. Their mac & cheese continues to be amazing. Their sweet potato hash is delicious. My husband was in love with his steak and whipped potatoes. The best part was the finale, when our waitress brought us a house dessert drink called Fox Juice. Questionable name aside, this drink was like drinking unicorn tears. It was magical. I’m trying to remember the ingredients — some melted ice cream with kahlua and something else… it was indulgent and a perfect way to end a meal. This was our anniversary dinner and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Thanks Silver Fox, you’ll definitely be seeing us again!
