Total Look Salons

I wanted to like this place because the people were so very nice, but the color just wasn’t good. I was going from single process back to highlights and they were doing multiple colors to bring back some depth. I had about 2 inches of dark roots in top and I knew there would be SOME root left with the transition but literally my hair looked EXACTLY The same. My roots looked untouched and the bottom had only some contrast. 3 HOURS in the chair and I have very fine short hair and I walked out feeling like I got nothing done. It wasn’t cheap so I feel happy that I at least had a coupon. Needless to say I now have to go AGAIN for highlights sooner than 8 weeks because my hair looks awful.

I love this place. Everyone is so nice and accommodating, and Dawn is the BEST. I’ve been coming here for years, and recently moved to Branford, but I still make the trip when I need Dawn — she’s worth it. I won’t go anywhere else!

This was my first time coming to total look salon! I had one of the best salon experiences ever! I called this morning asking if they had any availability for this evening (I had an appointment at another salon and ended up walking out for bad service), they were able to get me in at 7:15 which was perfect! The person who answered the phone was so polite! She asked me a little bit about what I wanted to have done, my hair type, and told me the range of prices to make sure I was within my price range. After giving all this info, she scheduled me for an appointment with Stephanie.
Upon arrival, I was greeted as soon as I walked in, offering me coffee, water, and even wine! Stephanie was very personable and knowledgeable! We started with a 15 min consultation where she asked me whaT I wanted to do with my hair, I had shown her a few pictures of what I liked. She looked at each picture and told me which ones she thought would be best and why. She even told me why she didn’t think some of them would work. She listened to everything I told her, and was interested in what I had to say.
Once Stephanie started cutting, she took her time and explained what she was doing in each step, what types of product she was using, and even gave me helpful tips to use when blow drying my hair. It took her an hour to cut my hair! (Normally at another salon they are done within 20 min). Stephanie payed attention to detail! She was very talkative and easy to talk to.
I absolutely love my final cut, and will be back again (I already booked my next appointment for 6 weeks). I will be referring all of my family and friends to come and see Stephanie! This was hands down the best salon experience I have ever had!

My hairstylist was Senka and she is AMAZING. It only costed $ 45 and I’ve never loved my hair more

I needed to book a waxing apt last minute so I was looking for openings all over Fairfield. I’m so glad I decided to go here! My boyfriend gets his haircut here (and hates getting a trim anywhere else) so he recommended I should go and boom, we both got $ 20 off our appointments since my boyfriend recommend a new client. I was so pleased with Christy and the wax apt that I would go back here in a heart beat! Total Look Salon was very professional and even gave me a follow up call to see how I liked my experience there.

Waited 45 minutes for appointment to start and was not ever approached by staff to let me know it they were that behind. With all the other options in town this will not be my first choice again.

This is the only salon I will go to. The stylists here do a fantastic job and will make sure you leave satisfied, they really know their stuff ! It can get busy at times, but as long as you have an appointment you will be seen on time, I have never sat around waiting.

I had my hair cut a month ago at Total Looks and was very impressed! When I cut my hair, I usually only get a trim, so I was very happy to find a salon with a $ 40 hair cut. I was even more impressed that when I left the salon my hair was actually dried! Too often, stylists don’t completely dry my hair, which is very disappointing. Ivalina cut my hair and did a great job! I am due back soon for another cut!
