Great atmosphere! Food was okay, we sat at the bar there were a couple of empty boats and the chefs wouldn’t replenish.

Sushi! Cannot get enough of it. After picking this spot from a roulette of sushi spots in Unilocal,I gotta say, this place is D-licious! Though the place is usually packed, the wait is turned over quickly, especially for a party of 2 or 4 who wants to sit at the barz. If you’re wanting table service, be prepared to wait and also to lose the enjoyment of the restaurant all together since the place is known for the sushi boats and the custom sushis too made on the spot, if you request it. I’ve visited this location a few times already but one of the last ones was for my birthday. All in all, memorable birthday dinner, not just enjoying it with family but of the service and the custom roll given. Not expecting for this to happen, I decided to request a sushi that wasn’t listed, but more of leaving the creativity to the sushi experts. And wow, to my surprise, they shocked me with a delicious roll. Ha, I truly don’t remember what I was given other than it was spicyly delicious. Since this was a no name roll, I decided to code name it «Silent Pimp»(high school nickname… don’t judge, not what you think… haha). And, with the free desserts too, I’d say I was a pretty happy customer.

Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of anything raw, especially fish. But this place makes the best rolls and sashimi’s. Anyway, my dad and I are huge sushi/roll enthusiasts and we have fallen in love with this place. We are able to choose whatever kind of sushi/rolls and if there is nothing of our taste going around on the conveyor belt, we can always request it to the chefs(sushi makers)!! So, I highly suggest you sit at the bar instead of requesting a table because judging by my past experiences, the hot food here isn’t the best…

This is a really good sushi place. The best part is sitting at the counter while you have boats carrying small plates with sushi and appetizers swim by. You pick the dish that seems appealing for you. The plates are color coded so you know the price each one cost. The only negative I have to say is that there is no description on the content of the food. You will have to look and decide whether you want to try it or not.

Absolutely love this place. Great atmosphere, very nice staff, quick to be served and their food is amazing every time I go. Usually I get sick when I eat sushi but I eat it anyways because it’s my favorite, but I never get sick from Blue Ginger’s food lol.

Went here for dinner tonight. Never been here before and we thought the place was closed because the outside of the restaurant just looks so dark. The décor inside is ugly. The sushi bar is cool but the food was just really bad. Tuna sashimi was really fishy tasting and almost grey in color. So was the tuna rolls. Everything I ordered that had tuna in it was awful. Honestly the worst sushi place I’ve ever been to. The only good thing was the garlic edamame and Thai donuts. But you can get those at any sushi restaurant. Will not be coming back to this place. On a positive note the waitress Florencia is really sweet and friendly :) that one star is for her and I give the restaurant 0 stars.

This was my second experience at this restaurant. The food is pretty good and the service is also great. However, I noticed this time that the food served on the boats was not varied thought our time there. I feel like the point of the boats is to get a taste of a little of everything. But that was difficult seeing that they had the 4 same sushi’s floating by along with a chicken on a skewer and some Korean bbq ribs. Last time I came, there was a lot more variation to choose from on the boats. While everything was good, the varieties did disappoint a bit.

Consistent. Sushi isn’t the best quality but it still tastes good. I only ordered sashimi once and will not do it again. The rolls and the hot food are good, not anything that I would crave but decent for what’s in the area. Eating at the bar is great as there are many options you can try but it does add up quickly.

Have only been here a couple of times but when we did go, the service was meh. The sushi was pretty good but the service was painfully slow and the waitress seemed like she wanted to be anywhere else. The décor is beautiful though. It was actually breathtaking the first time we walked in but the service fell way short. They need the right people working and it will be amazing.

Sushi here was delicious! We had the Happiness Roll and Strawberry Dragon Roll. Loved them both! Nice and trendy atmosphere. Don’t let this place fool you. It’s in a shopping plaza, by was packed from the moment we arrived and after we left.

Decent food bad service. Getting orders wrong, forgetting things, then the bill comes out incorrect too. Food was alright I tried the tuna sashimi and it was pretty good both tasted fresh enough and texture was nice. The salmon sashimi was very smooth not quite melt in your mouth but was getting there. The galbi or ribs was not good at all. They just cover everything is a black stick sauce which was way too much. And the texture was extremely though to eat. Lots of tenders and connective tissue. Finally I got the blue ginger roll, I think it had a lettuce wrap instead of seaweed. It was decent but nothing special To finished off the meal I had the lychee sake to go with everything and that was probably the best part of my meal. Was sweet and tasty but not overly sweet like candy you find in other drinks. Overall the experience was alright, I probably won’t be coming back here. Mediocre food, bad service, and pricy bill.

Came here once before to meet my uncle up since he lives in the area. I don’t recall much of the experience considering I had been drinking an excessive amount that day, but I was waiting for my movie the other night and decided to grab a quick bite to eat. Man, was I happy that I did. This place is dope. The restaurant itself is quaint. There’s about 4 booths which could easily sit about 4 – 5 people and a rotating sushi bar right in the middle! I went ahead and took a seat at the bar with my girlfriend and we started digging in. The rotating bar isn’t their main focus as they do provide you with a full menu if you’re looking for basic dishes. I ordered an avocado salad and fully regret not taking a photo, this salad was huge and presented wonderfully! Enough to feed 3 at least and for 5 bucks! I won’t bore you with a detailed sushi review. You’ll find most of the same rolls everywhere. What I will tell you is the food was fresh. You might worry considering there’s a conveyor belt full of sushi, but that’s not the case. They pull plates they feel have sat there for too long and refresh with new ones. It’s grade-A stuff my friends. The décor is chic, dishes were full of flavor, sake was plentiful and overall it was really just great experience. Can’t wait to come back!

Space: small place. Nicely decorated, when you walk in have a cool bar with lots seating. The bar moves in a circular motion, with different kinds of sushi. On the other side there are booths and regular tables. Attire: casual nice Food quality: Excellent! The Pad Thai is delicious. I got mines with chicken but you can also get it with tofu if you’re vegetarian. Sushi rolls are good too. Service: Excellent! Server made sure we had refills and would come to make sure we were okay. Do I need to say more?! Try this place is great!

I have been wanting to try Blue Ginger for quite sometime, but I seriously forget about it because it is in a Publix plaza and we rarely head that way. The other night my husband actually mentioned we should go. I wasn’t hopeful, as one big pet peeve is being ignored at the front door. I know you may be busy, but a little hello, be right with you goes a long way. Anyway… they give you numbers… which is better than names… we were 12. We asked for first available. You can sit at the bar where the dishes float around the bar and you pick your dishes or you can sit at a table and just order from the menu. We took our chances. We sat at a table. The light above us was out, so reading he menu was a little difficult. We had a great server who made recommendations. We started with the Korean short ribs and garlic edamame. Both very good. My had the happiness roll… very good. I have never had meat on a sushi roll, but it worked. My husband had the chicken teriyaki. He said it was tasty. We ended with the Thai donuts(free for the Unilocal check in). I had to fight my husband for them… they were a very nice end to the meal. Prices were reasonable and we enjoyed it. Looking foreword to our next visit.

What can I say I’m a huge fan of blue ginger. This place is always busy but wait time is usually quick. I always like sitting at the bar with the sushi boats! They have a great selection and if you are craving anything you can request it to the chef and he will make it for you. At the bar you’ll see a card with the prices per plate depending on the color and at the end depending how many plates you had they bill you. I’ve never had a bad experience here their fried rice is amazing and fresh! The sake selection is good always a lot of variations to pick from. My new favorite is now the strawberry sake it is sweet but so good! If you’re in the area and craving sushi you can’t go wrong!

Great late-night sushi spot. I came here once before during lunch time, so the sushi bar wasn’t open. I wasn’t too impressed at the time, and hadn’t been back since, but my friends invited me out to dinner at 10:30 pm on a Friday night. We got seats at the spinning sushi bar, and I was very impressed with the sushi selection! If you sit at the bar, you can grab whatever plates catch your eye. Your bill is based off of the color coded plates that you eat, with plates ranging from $ 2-$ 6. If there is a roll that you specifically want, you can also ask the sushi chefs standing on inside the sushi bar to make it just for you! I had a variety of plates, but some that I really liked included the salmon sashimi and the cucumber roll. The salmon sashimi was fatty and served at the right temperature, so it just melts in your mouth. The cucumber roll doesn’t have rice, but the fish is wrapped in thin slices of cucumber and sits in this sweet vinegar type sauce. It’s a great palette cleanser that doesn’t sit heavy in the stomach. There is also regular seating with a full service menu, if you don’t want to wait at the bar. They play a variety of music, but the atmosphere is fun for late night dining.

Great little sushi spot for those who live in the burbs, like me! Very cute ambiance. Great for a date night. I sat and the bar which is a great idea if you are starving, cause you can literally sit and grab some sushi, edamame, coconut shrimp, sashimi, egg rolls, etc. as they float by on the boats! You can also order stuff from the menu with a waitress. The Avocado salad was great! For $ 5 you get a huge salad, you can share, that has lots of avocados, tomatoes and ginger dressing. Highly recommend. The plates on the boats come in different colors which are paired up with their own individual price. For example, if you grab a blue plate it is $ 6, if you grab a green plate it is $ 5, etc. and when you are done, the waitress will add up your colored plates and charge you accordingly. Prices are all appropriate too. I think the next time I come, I will sit at a table and order from the menu. I think the food on the boats was good but reading from other Unilocal reviews the menu sounds like it has better options. Service was great as well. I will definitely return and try it again.

What a great concept. Not that it is new, but this is my first Sushi Bar experience. I found this place when I was a Unilocal Rookie. I was looking for sushi in broward and this place popped up with great reviews. At the time I was new to Unilocal so I was a bit skeptical and passed on the opportunity to go there since it looked like an average sushi place at an outside strip mall next to Publix. Young grasshopper I was and a fool! I am proud to say that thanks to Unilocal, this is one of my favorite Sushi establishments and overall best Sushi experiences to date. Yea it looks boring from the outside, but what is in the inside is what counts. It is neatly decorate with an upscale vibe. The restaurant features one big sushi bar in the middle. Typically you have a conveyor belt that moves plates along the bar, at this location, they have a canal with boats flowing around the bar and the plates are placed on top of the boats. One of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. The plates are color coded into prices. Purple, yellow, green, red, blue, or $ 2, $ 3, $ 4, $ 5, $ 6 respectively. As you eat, you stack your plates and add up the colors and you have your price. Their plates are delicious and they have appetizers, sides, sushi, and hot plates flowing down the river. It is all delicious and I always rack up the bill. I have a thing for those blue plates, oh why do I always end up getting four or five when I tell myself to go for yellow and green plates every time, LOL! You also have traditional seating around the bar where you can order from the menu. Who wants to do that when there is an awesome river of flowing greatness? It is not like the regular seats are empty, as a matter of fact it is always full and there is always a wait when I’ve gone. Food presentation is superb. You almost feel like every dish you ordered is a masterpiece of sushi art. I love this place and so does my girlfriend. It is a great place for a fun date. They serve cocktails, wine and beer as well to enjoy the evening. Bring your friends too, its a great place to hangout after or before a movie.

Classic Unilocal moment. Left the house with no reservations or even the slightest idea of where lunch would be. As we headed south on 75, I pulled up my app and voilá, I found Blue Ginger. Blue Ginger is nothing fancy from the outside and it’s located inside a large shopping center. Once inside, the vibe is completely different: dark(even if it was a Saturday at 2pm) and modern. We sat in a booth and looked through the menu. We ordered edamame, the MIAMIDOLPHINSROLL(wrapped in cucumber for that refreshing taste), the MIAMIHEATROLL(feeling sporty I guess), and the SHRIMPPADTHAI(very tasty and with enough«heat») All were very good. The Miami Heat roll does not look appetizing with the pink exterior and peach dressing on top(yikes!), but it does taste great! We didn’t drink anything, but we did order the Thai doughnuts which also happened to be free with the Unilocal check-in. The presentation on the doughnuts was cheesy with whipped cream in the middle and a chocolatey syrup zig zagged on, but they did taste great. I would have had those all to myself if I could have! But I shared. Pfft. Service was adequate. nothing out of the ordinary. I look forward to a longer next visit and trying more of the items on the menu.
