Sushi Sake – Davie

My friend and I love to come here on Thursdays because of the free sake promo they have. Of course we still order apps and sushi and spend at least $ 50. I’m not usually the type to sit and write a review but my experience was quite disturbing. We arrived at 11:30pm. The server rushed us to order stating the kitchen was closing shortly. We understood and quickly ordered. We sat and enjoyed our sake and food. 5 min to 12 the waiter was quick to pick up everything from our table and brought us our check. We paid and sat a little longer enjoying the rest of our sake. Exactly at 12:15 my friend and I were told by the waiter that he and the manager were ready to leave so we had to go! I was in shock! Oh and by the way we were sitting outside! I work at a restaurant as well and I would never do such a thing! It really left a disgusting taste in our mouths. They really need to learn a thing or two about customer service. I would also like to add the it is absurd to charge a $ 1 for a side of siracha!

Food overpriced for what you get. Ask for Prices for their Sushi Specials, as they may not appear on their main Specials menu. Very skimpy on regular sushi dishes. Ambiance nice.

I was very hesitant to try Sushi Saki based on the reviews, however a friend recommended and I decided to listen to her. It was an okay experience.
The restaurant has a nice look and is very clean. Service was friendly.
We started with edamame. It was a pretty small portion but I liked that they serve the salt on the side.
I ordered the Bobby Salad: it was just what I had been craving. Kinda a deconstructed tuna tower without the rice. Perfect. Just the right amount of spice. Perfect ratio of avocado to tuna to krab. Loved it.
I also had a salmon skin roll. It was rather skimpy. I asked for added cream cheese and some spicy mayo. Both additions added $ 1 each. Charging for spicy mayo is like charging for ketchup. There was barely any cream cheese. For $ 2 I can buy a whole bar or Philadelphia cream cheese.
I ordered shrimp fried rice for my daughter. I asked for no onion. Evidently that caused my 6 yr old’s food to come out way after everyone else’s. And wait… they also forgot the shrimp! That took another 10 minutes. My friend ordered steak teriyaki for her 5 yr old. It also came out after ours. Granted I know sushi comes out quicker but kids’ food taking so long is just not acceptable.
No manager came to apologize.
Dessert came out quickly. It was very good. We ordered the brownie tempura and ice cream tempura. Both were very good.
Can’t decide if I will return yet. Maybe without the kids.

Sushi was fresh and the service was very good. They’re offering two for one sake bombs. Since there wasn’t a lot of people the service was fast and very attentive.

First visit to this restaurant, the service received was very good but as far as the kitchen goes, it seems they were having an off night. There were 2 pieces of my steamed shrimp Shumai order that were still cold. My friend and I each ordered the caliente roll and it had way too much lettuce plus the chef forgot to add the spicy mayo. It was really flavorless. After mentioning it to the waitress, she brought over the manager and they promptly removed it from the bill. Based on some comments/​recommendations in Unilocal we also tried the fried rice and it was very good.

Very average sushi, smaller and smaller portions, inflated prices and confused identity.
The food in my opinion has been slowly going backwards, the rolls continue to shrink and the fish is almost see thru now!
Service is hit or miss, and sometimes the music is blasting to the point you can’t really enjoy eating or have a conversation.
Shame, place was good when they first started.

The only good thing about this place is its fried rice! Everything else is so overpriced and they charge extra for sauces. I usually only go during their Happy Hour, which is when their prices are reasonable.

Came here around 6 pm on a Thursday, it was empty with a lot of staff. Was quickly greeted and seated by the hostess and then shortly greeted by our waitress, I believe her name was Daniella, she was perfect, super nice and attentive. The food was just alright considering the price-​this place is kinda expensive ($ 18 for noodles, really??). They had free sake and Daniella was nice to offer us 4 flavors. Overall, the experience was good due to our waitress but I don’t think I will be returning due to the somewhat small menu and high prices.

Do not go! OK sushi, but the prices are extremely high, and they really do charge a dollar extra for everything!

I had several issues with my meal and the manager acted unbothered by them. The restaurant was empty and full of waiters but every hot item was brought to me ice cold. Service was awful. The food has potential but is overpriced for what it is. I would pay twice as much for better quality and good service.

I had a really good experience here last night. The waiter was amazing and kept coming to us to make sure everything was okay. Now the food was amazing as well I would give it 5 stars. The reason I’m giving this place a 4 is due to a eye lash landing in my soup when I got it. Now I’m not sure if it could have been mine but they did not care to change it or compensate it. For that they have lost one star from me.

We just left here now and we’re so impressed by the service. Had an 8:30pm movie and we sat at the bar (that helped!), ordered and ate in under 15 minutes! We also got the check while we were eating. The server was great too. We enjoyed and shared a Pineapple Chicken and Shrimp Fried Rice and a Spicy Tuna Roll. Yum!

Where can I even start on this restaurant. The food is OK definitely overpriced. Everything literally taste the same. The big problem I have with this place, besides the manager being extremely rude, is how shady they are. For example, the shrimp tempura roll says it comes with spicy mayo. instead of putting spicy mayo they put eel sauce. Being that the role says nothing about eel sauce, I assumed it would bring spicy mayo. I sent the rollback because I hate eel sauce and then when I asked for the spicy mayo the roll supposedly came with I was charged for it. I am convinced that this place solely survives on charging people for things that the item says it comes with. Another time I came here and got up and left because I was sitting for 20 minutes and no one came to take my drink order. Do not come here. You will have a horrible experience.

I came here on a whim alone one Friday evening. It was just before the dinner rush so it seemed pretty empty with a lot of staff. The servers were dressed neat, professional, and seemed to be involved in a lot of teamwork. They were constantly cleaning and bussing tables.
First I went in to grab a Togo menu, looked at the menu, and went back in to give them a try.
I was seated in a comfortable table for two, but kind of small. I wasn’t greeted for over five minutes, but I went to the host stand and let them know, and they had someone at the table ASAP. It seemed like maybe they were on a shift change so it was slightly expected. The host nonetheless was extremely sweet with a great smile.
My server was amazing! I’m not sure her name at this point but it seemed like all the servers were extremely well trained. She never let me know about happy hour, (although it was posted), but complimented me on my wine choice and told me about a special crab Rangoon for half off.
Overall I had chicken fried rice, crab Rangoons, and gyoza. All the food was very hot and fresh and amazing!!!
I called over both managers and complimented them on their service and food and promised them a review on Unilocal.At which point he offered more wine for free. Can’t be mad at that.
I give them 3.5÷5 because I wasn’t greeted fast enough, I wasn’t offered happy hour, the food was slightly pricey. But even with all these flaws it was worth it and I will be back. Great staff and even better management, as it should be.

I have been here a few times and still do not understand the bad reviews. This place has pretty crappy reviews in my opinion and it simply doesn’t fit with the experiences I have had here every single time. The restaurant is great, lovely décor, hip and modern and yes they do play music and it is not that loud and I’m sure if anyone would ask for them to turn it down they would. The service has always been excellent and if anything I think they are quite patient. I wanted a roll that I have had at another location but they did not have it here and the server was great trig my order down to the smallest detail and had the sushi chef make it exactly how I wanted it. It turned out delicious. The food is always fresh and savory and I do think this place deserves a better rating.

Average would be 3 stars for the sushi. The reason this is –1 star is because sauces cost $ 1 extra and If your roll comes with a sauce expect them to be very frugal with it. Not that great and not going back.

This place deserves a way better reputation. I was super hesitant to take a chance here because of the poor reviews but had dinner here last night after the movies. The hibachi chicken was delicious (very big portion) and the service was great (I don’t know what everyone is complaining about). We didn’t wait for anything. We will definitely be returning!

I have eaten here a few times and the food is always really good. They have a pink sauce similar to the one at Samurai that is just perfect. The rice is perfect and it has a special take that makes it stand out from other hibachi places. The service is not always great but the food definitely makes up for it!

Was so looking forward to a good sushi meal but unfortunately our experience left a lot to be desired. Dirty mug, green tea had sludge in the bottom, unsalted edamame, long wait for 2 easy rolls.
The rolls were tasty but uneven and looked amateur.
My advice– go down the road to Shinju and get better quality and more for your money.
