Pro– crawfish was amazing. They weren’t very hot, but salty, spicy, we got 15 pounds. Sides were just okay. Spicy butter, YUM! Cons– the service here was awful!!! Hosts were totally losing it mentally, a guy was up there complaining because their app wait this night would say 15, then 10, then 12,… He said his dos that, ours did too and the host literally yelled back at him. We tried to get a beer from the bar while waiting and we literally waited at lest 20 minutes. There was ONE bartender on a Saturday night when they have an hour and a half wait. Our waiter could have cared less about helping us. Does the manager know how crappy the service is? Would definately take the crawfish to go another time.

I wanted to try a new place along the Battlefield Parkway strip. I had the gumbo, fried crab claws and a shrimp Po’ Boy. I liked it all. The crab claws were especially good and the Po’ Boy had lots of shrimp. Service was good. This is a solid choice for quality fried seafood along the parkway.

Allowed a yankee to walk out with 15lbs boiled crawfish and 35lbs local oysters. A YANKEE! 5 stars, love this place.

Passed this without any knowledge of reviews and I must say, pretty darn good. Portions are perfect and reasonably priced. The service is quick and attentive. establishment is clean and right by a museum we were heading to. Definitely worth the stop! I had the grilled chicken sandwich — lots of food and the fries are really tasty. The soft shell crab was amazing, seasoned perfectly! I would stop back by again!

Went here for a quick lunch before heading home back to Texas. Thankfully they had crawfish when I went. I ordered 1 pound with potatoes, corn and sausage. With spicy butter. The crawfish themselves weren’t very flavorful but I used the spicy butter that was with my corn and potatoes and it made it much better. Only less than 5 dollars for a pound, a good amount of crawfish, and actually pretty spicy!(And I eat spicy food a lot so I was impressed/sastified). Only complaint I have is that my corn was so mushy. It didn’t seem fresh, there was no crunch when I bit in. Brother got the pulled pork baked potato that thing was huge, also pretty good, only thing is I wish there was more cheese and sour cream, it was BBQ sauce over load. Service was alright our server seemed flustered and extremely tired, but the place was pretty packed. Overall it was a good restaurant not really a must go if you’re in mobile.

I have eaten at all the seafood houses on the causeway and this one is my favorite. The food is so good and the prices are the best in the area. If you want a poboy that is loaded with shrimp this is the spot for you! I never can eat any more than ½ of one at a time. I got the fried oysters today and they were perfect!!! Highly recommend this place!!!

The Food… As the name the implies, one should go to R & R Seafood for seafood. And overall, the seafood is prepared very well and is delicious; however it is the overall platter that is a little uninspiring. Through a few visits to the restaurant, I tried the Craw Fish Po Boy and Mahi-Mahi. Both were good and tasty, neither were show-stoppers. This might be the crux of R & R Seafood’s mediocrity: it has an impressive selection of seafood; perhaps so much so that it does not specialize in any one dish. The Gumbo and Red Beans & Rice are also decent sides, but follow suit with the rest of the menu(i.e., good but not great) The Atmosphere… With the entire restaurant propped up on stilts and very basic seating throughout its spacious dining area, R & R Seafood seems more geared for survival and efficiency than for a comfortable dining experience. This isn’t a criticism, per se, but rather an observation. Regardless, I will say the seating isn’t very comfortable. The Price… For a complete lunch or dinner entrée, prepare to spend right around $ 15 – 20. Although this is a fair price for the type and quantity of food, I would argue that your money is best spent elsewhere if you are trying to scope out the best place in town. Don’t ignore this place though, give it a shot, aim high, and see what happens. The Service… The service at the restaurant was very friendly, inviting, and attentive. On one occasion, I had dined here with about 12 other people, and our waiter remarkably remembered all our orders and frequently checked our status on drink refills and napkins.

I had been to a «Take your labs to the beach» weekend & was on a quest to eat as many crabcakes as I could in 4 days from different restaurants. My scenic tour landed me here, placing a to-go order on the road. The staff was nice enough; my order was correct & ready when I arrived. I’d give them 4 stars for service. However, this is where this 4 star review ENDS!(Sad Panda) I seriously wanted to love the crabcakes at this restaurant, but they just were not suited for my palette. The texture was like my grandmother’s stuffing for Thanksgiving dinner, a gummy/doughy consistency. In fact, the taste was similar – like a bottle of powdered sage! Add to this a little shredded crab, not really fresh lump crab, which I had eaten all of the rest of my beach holiday. On a positive note, I did like the coleslaw, but I would not order crabcakes from here again.

We had a group of family there tonight and it was great. The food and service were great. I had the Blackened Mahi and my girlfriend had the fried shrimp. The Mahi was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Her shrimp had a great tasting seasoning and batter and had zero grease. We will be coming back again and again.

Great family atmosphere and the food was great! Pretty pricy but that’s to be expected for seafood in this area.

Worst service I’ve had in years. The food was only adequate, absolutely no atmosphere and the waitress was truly terrible. Took her for ever to finally get to our table. She had numerous other customers complaining. Bar drinks were watered down. Brought out the appetizers with entrée. Oyster tray had a hole in it, so it leaked all over the table. Then she couldn’t get any small plates to serve the oysters on. She blamed everything on the kitchen staff. Forgot to bring out the side orders to our entrees. She kept apologizing every visit to table, but nothing ever got better. No manager bothered to stop in and ask how was the dinner. I wanted to throw a $ 20 on the table early on and just leave before dinner came out. Go some place downtown and avoid this train wreck. I’d never return and certainly will not recommend to others.

I ordered the spicy steamed shrimp with potatoes and sausage– the food was actually yummy; however, the service was pretty bad. The waiter was rude and sarcastic to some of the people that came along with us– and it was uncalled for. He just seemed put off by having to be at work. If asked for something– he questioned why what he brought wasn’t enough– who does that? Food + service = complete dining experience — having said that– I think while visiting Alabama, I will forgo this restaurant and find a restaurant with good food AND good service.

Smoked tuna dip was the bomb. Seafood was fresh and wait staff was great. She went out of her way to show me the label where they get the smoked tuna dip. Will come back next time visiting the coast.

Kids plates are good portion. Service was quick. Other than that we won’t be back. Overpriced for the quality. Seafood didn’t seem fresh. Worst crab cakes ever. Wish we would have waited the hour for blue gill or Felix’s.

A wise man once told me, «You can fry a leather boot and it would taste good.», and I think he’s right. What I’m saying is fried food is fried food and plenty of the causeway restaurants can deliver on that. If you want that and something extra go to R&R for some crawfish. This place is a staple for my Mobile dining circuit and hasn’t burned anything but my eye when I tried to put in my contacts. Next time you’re ready to pinch some tails and suck a few heads check this out!

This place is AWESOME!!! Come hungry. You’re probably used to a seafood platter being 6 shrimp etc on top of a mountain of French fries. Not here. So much food! All our food is delicious, and you can tell everything is freshly made/battered. Service is super friendly and attentive. Felix’s is nice but we chose this place in our trip this year and we’ll do so again. A lot more peaceful than across the street. Thanks, R&R, for a GREAT family meal!

The boiled crawfish was OK. However, boiled crawfish isn’t on their menu so… Ask your server! That being said, overall we weren’t impressed. All of their food is overpriced, fried, and/or buttered — even their steamed seafood is buttered. The sides didn’t seem like they were high quality(aka the red beans and rice and their salads). We were originally going to order the crawfish entrée, but the server told us that the crawfish tails aren’t local and fresh. They’re from Tahiti(?). Also, the oysters weren’t that good either. Overall, it seemed like this place is a tourist trap. The service was hit or miss. Our server was nice, but the host at the front door seemed annoyed that she needed to seat us! I won’t go back. After spending $ 40+, we left hungry.

I got the fried flounder with a side of steamed zucchini and squash & hush puppies to finish it off. My meal was delicioso! My first experience here last year wasn’t that impressive, but this time blew me away. Everything was perfect. I’ll be back for sure! The service was also good.

Well, it is that time of year to polish off as many oysters as possible in preparation for(free) crawfish season. I will hit other places in my reviews as time permits, but elected to go to R&R this week because their food is usually very fresh and we wanted to start off our«perfect bite» quest with a good selection of different baked/broiled/grilled delights. The oysters were good, really good. They were fresh, plump, briny and served nice and hot. However(comma, space) we had to request hot sauce and lemon, which is a major taboo in my book. But we did get them, and with the raws the horseradish was plentiful. The food quality and quantity was excellent, especially on a cold Coastal evening. But(comma, space) why are the people here SO mean? I just do not get it. And why do I keep going back? One day I will take an oyster-shucking class and just do my own. Until then I do not need to be treated like a trespasser or an inconvenience. There is NO, NOWAY the entire staff can be so rude unless they are trained to be as they are. For those of you that know me there is no doubt that I approach every meal as a holiday, and every bite a treat. So there is certainly no negative vibes I am sending out. Please help me just back away from this place(except for the ground-level raw seafood to go). There are just too many other places out there where the people are at least pleasant — which is a big part of the experience for me. But, shoot, they had some excellent bivalves…
