Are they serious? Went into this store to get a small basket of items I had on a list. Had my 4 years old son with me. He wanted a couple of Easter toys and I obliged. Made our way to the checkout to find only 2 cashiers and I kid you not, both lines went all the way down one aisle to the END. All 5 people in front and behind me were complaining of how long the line was and how long it was taking to get these people checked out. Most people had 10 or less items. I stood on my tip toes to see the cashier in the line I was waiting in would without a doubt lose the damn snail race. The gal behind me says to me, «this is ridiculous, «to which I replied, «you are absolutely right, I’m not waiting.» And as much as I am not in agreement with doing this, I left pissed off to all hell and left my basket full of goods by an end isle and walked out. Screw you .99 store and your lame ass lines! I’d still be waiting and would have missed the Super Bowl! Won’t be back!

Management at this store was very, very rude. We tried to buy Iced Tea that was clearly marked at .49 and the manager (who we must have interrupted from a break because she came out picking her teeth) would only honor ONE of them at that price and was going to charge us .99 for the remaining 5!!! We took a picture of the sign and she still would NOT honor that price because she was, «going to go change it RIGHT NOW!!!» Well, good customer service would have been to honor ALL 6 of them at .49 and then go change it… because she didn’t even check if the computer was wrong? Very rude and extremely poor customer service!!!

I am a big fan of this chain of stores but … I purchased some strawberries from the store on South Virginia Street. They were sitting on an unrefrigerated platform. At home, I realized the strawberries had some kind of coating that reeked. I washed them thoroughly in soap but couldn’t get the smell to go away. I tried to eat them in cereal but it was making me sick so I just threw the cereal and the remaining strawberries away. I suspect the coating was to prevent rotting but maybe this could be avoided by providing some refrigeration. I urge the owner of this store to install refrigerated platforms to keep salads and vegetables fresh and to generally pay more attention to proper food handling techniques.

Missed this place! On a recent trip to Reno from Sioux Falls, I made sure I took a nice picture to tease my GF. I moved from California last year and I just can’t do the Dollar Tree thing. 99 Cent Only is THE dollar store. Was devastated when I found out they didn’t have any in South Dakota. The produce, the wide variety of name-brand products… just can’t beat it. I visited the one on South Virginia in Reno, and thought it could have been a little more organized as far as stock being out every which way, STILL MY STORE! Was like a little kid running around the place… haha. The 99 Cent Only is like my spoiled favorite kid relative everyone has… they can do no wrong in your eyes. Great store.

Love this store, every visit i find omething new. Fresh vegetales, fruit, lunchmeat and name brand soap, deodorant, chips, soda. You cannot go wrong, some items you can get cheaper at the grocery store, like soups, bens an f2f canned vegetables. I just picked up a sports illustrated desk calender today. Regular price is 15 bucks. Great deal

Ok this store is a lot bigger then the one in Reno by the mall and that is a plus! I am a fan of it being clean too! This is way better then the other dollar store that seems to have a lot more of junk items. The staff was ok but thats what you get when you have young people that only care about what they did last night and stand around talking to each other. Where customer service means nothing and this is just what brings home the money so they can have something to talk about tomorrow with another line of customers. It gets 4 stars for the items they sell.

This was a pretty good store. They had a lot of brand name stuff that the other local dollar store used to carry but no longer does. That was nice.
Also, I found some electronic stuff that the other local dollar store used to carry, but no longer does. Like 7-foot ethernet cables.
I have to give kudos to at least one staff member. I was looking for those sewing kits and didn’t know where to look. Even though they were slammed on opening day she spent a good long time looking for them. Turns out they didnt’ have them. But I would not have known.
The best deal was probably the 30-ounce bags of Swedish fish candy. I bought four of those for the office candy pool.
They have a deli and fresh fruit section, but I didn’t spend time there.
If they can keep up the improved selection, they’ll have my business. And would probably deserve an upgrade to four stars.
