Well, we needed a Chinese fix, and instead of our standby PF, we went to a Sparks neighborhood Chinese canton. Fortune Palace has served us well for their good lunch specials. Tonight, we just got a quick carry out. We opted for chicken fried rice with white meat and shrimp chow mein. After eating at this place several times, this was not up to standard. The chicken in the rice didn’t taste right, something funky with the texture. The chow mein was ok, nothing great. This was quite a disappointment from a place we’ve had good food from before.

Good food but they take FOREVER to serve you it gets frustrating. And the staff seems like they never have a good day. You never get a smile out of them

For over twenty years we have had a favorite Asian restaurant in San Jose with which we-compare all Asian food. In Sparks Fortune Palace is excellent. The chicken fried rice is the best I’ve had. Kung Pao chicken was perfectly flavored and cooked to the proper degree of doneness. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was one of the best we’ve had. All other dishes were properly seasoned and prepared. The server was excellent with great suggestions and a great sense of humor.

It was okay. Not my favorite place but not that bad. Some food we ordered needed a little bit more love. Customer service wasn’t horrible. Convenient offers for Togo food.

Fortune Palace is located on Disc Dr in the old scolaris shopping center. This Chinese restaurant is very much like CJ Palace. It is decorated very nicely and well lit. Deb Andi came here for an late lunch early dinner. Parking was not a problem with the huge lot they share. They must have 25 plus tables and booths inside the restaurant. There is a full bar right when you enter that has counter service and stools. There are two tv’s, one in bar and one in dining room. We ordered hot and sour soup, spring rolls, and house chow mein. Everything was excellent. The soup had excellent flavor. It was not to spicy. The chow mein was full of flavor with chicken, beef and shrimp. The spring rolls were so tasty. They were stuffed with vegetables and fried. Definitely will be back.

Came in for lunch with my husband. Started with the salad. The salad is simple– lettuce, shredded carrots, rice noodles, and crushed peanuts. The dressing is absolutely amazing! I ordered the Mongolian beef lunch special, extra spicy. I did not care for the flavor of the Mongolian beef and it was not spicy. My husband really liked his sweet and sour chicken and fried rice. The service was great– the staff was attentive and very friendly. I will be back to try other dishes and for more of that delicious salad!

Not bad, but not great either. We have a tradition of having Chinese food on New year’s eve and since this is our first year in Nevada I’ve been trying to find a good Chinese place. My favorite place so far is Crawfish Asian Cusine on plumb ln, but I didn’t feel like driving to Reno. Fourtune palace is less than 3 minutes from my house so it seemed convenient. Let’s get down to the point… the food. We ordered to-go so I won’t comment on service. Mongolian Beef– the meat was tender and it looked good, but it had a funny taste to it. I don’t know if they use msg but there was something there I didn’t care for. Generals Chicken– nothing spectacular. The sauce was nice and tangy but I did not care for the breading. It was a but thick and chewy. Sweet and Sour Pork-this was my favorite dish but it too was very standard. House Pan Fried noodles– I love noodles an nothing is better than crispy noodles topped with a flavorful gravy, however they had they absolutely ruined it by not packing the noodles and gravy separately. I was so disappointed. I know this review might be rough, but like I said… not bad but not great. I’m finding that 99.9% of all Chinese restaurants cater strictly to the American palate. Sad panda.

Lunch combo of Spicy Crispy Beef. Large portion of beef. Very tender and delicious. Fried rice, spring roll and side salad. With tax $ 9.16. More than enough meat for at least 2 meals. Friendly waiter too.

Fortune Palace has the best Chinese food in Reno Sparks area. Their orange chicken is to die for. They know how to make delicious chow mein. And their potstickers and potsticker sauce are beyond compare. Thank you for exceptional food and service.

Starting off pretty rocky. Grumpy waiter, regular food items not available — just not the same place we’ve loved for the last 10 years…

Came here the other day for my mother’s birthday. First time here. Once we sat down the waiter served us some awesome margaritas. We ordered a feast. The food had great flavor. You know you walk into a good Chinese restaurant when you see Chinese folks behind the scene cooking it up. Lol but all in all I recommend this place. I will be making my way back soon. If my next experience is this good, I’ll give the 5 star review.

I lived in sparks almost my whole life! And this place opened up and I have never really not liked it. I really enjoy the spicy eggplant and pork. It could definitely have some more spice to it, but that’s my fault for not suggesting that. I think they accommodate more to the American pallet. We got their vegetable chowmein, spicy pork with eggplant, Mongolian chicken and the hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup isn’t the best I’ve had. It’s ok. I think it might be too sweet maybe. Not enough substance? The chowmein was good, the noodles were cooked perfectly. If you’ve read some of my other reviews about chowmein then you’ll understand I have an issue with how certain Chinese places cook their noodles. It was more on the salty side, when I was putting the leftovers into other containers the chowmein was sitting in the soy sauce they made it in. Which maybe made it more saltier. The Mongolian chicken was tasty. I love how they make it with onions that are still crunchy. The spicy pork and eggplant is just my favorite. Yeah it sits in its own sauce and you can see the oil floating on top of the sauce, but whatever. We all use oil don’t we. It was in a to-go box so it’s not like their going to make it look all pretty. All in all I will definitely come and eat here again. Next time I will sit down inside.

This is our very favorite Chinese food spot in all of Sparks/Reno. The atmosphere is quiet and very nice inside. The service was excellent from all staff and our server was extra sweet to our toddler. Food came out quick, hot and absolutely delicious. We can’t wait to return for another tasty meal! Yum! House chow mein was the most flavorful we have ever had and our favorite of the evening. Generals chicken and broccoli beef were out of this world as well!

I resisted going to Fortune Palace for over a year even though a few friends said it was wonderful. I was starving last week and broke down and went. This place far exceeds the quality of Shanghai and every other place I have tried. I go the chicken chow mein, pot stickers and won tons. The noodles are thick and filling, pot stickers are larger and appear hand made and the won tons were mouth watering. The price is right as well for lunch.(I am told that the price goes much higher for dinner.) I’ve giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the service. They did get us everything we wanted and didnt mess anything up but they could smile more. They seem very«business» about it — a smile goes a long way. I’ll be back!

Should be called the Unfortunate Palace. We ordered take out last night 30 $ dollars worth of Garbage. «Call the food police I’ve been robbed!» Maybe they havearnew owners? I Had been looking forward to eating here after the reviews I read. We ordered fried prawns, pot stickers, veggie egg foo yung, and pork fried rice. PRAWNS: these were panko breaded small shrimps crispy but overcooked and rubbery texture on the shrimp I’m sure they were prepackaged frozen product. Then I opened the… VEGFOOYUNG. «Oh my god I sighed» …are you kidding me? they were perfectly round ½ inch thick discs and I mean round I’m not sure they were even made with eggs and there were some soggy bean sprouts inside. Apparently, all you need to do is microwave the frozen patty and add some frozen veggies to your basic bland thickened chicken stock and«voila» You’ve got veg foo yung Oh PLEASE! you couldn’t even beat an egg? Does Mc Donald’s make egg foo yung molds now POTSTICKERS: Definitely not the best frozen pre-packaged stickers I’ve ever had, 6 of these beauty’s. We ate two each, by the time we got to the 3rd one we were chewing on sponge. Had to toss the last two. The dog wouldn’t eat them. The dipping sauce could have been sweeter. Tasted only vinegar & soy. PORKFRIEDRICE: Overcooked, mushy rice, typical frozen peas and carrots, not enough egg(SURPRISE!) and bland. There was a good supply of pork and that part was actually OK. I’m not surprised there was nobody was in the place I would be embarrassed to be seen in here now I know why the people at the bar were wearing masks. This place is way overpriced for the quality oops Crap they serve. I can microwave a better meal with the stuff from the freezer at my local Asian grocery. Go to Panda even theirs is better. We normally get our Chinese at CJ or shanghai both Very mediocre at best, said I was done with them but now I have to go back since at least they cook their food from scratch.
