here’s the deal… I’ve only come for take out Chinese food. The food is always consistently good! They always get my order correct and to me it’s the best Chinese food in the area!

We’ve been to Fu’s a few times recently and have been happy with just about every dish we’ve ordered. The chinese food is good(singapore mei fun was very good, as was the chicken and broccoli, and the beef on a stick appys). The beef chow fun was a little greasy, though. I ordered it extra spicy hot so I think they over did it with the hot oil. The next time I got it normal and had the hot oil and dried hot peppers on the side. It was much better. To our surprise, though, the sushi was excellent! Best in Sparta. The first time we went, my son asked the chef if they had uni. They didn’t that night, but the owner came over and told us the next time we come in to call ahead and they will get the uni(or any other special fish) in just for us. How nice was that? So my boy was happy to put a tip in the chef’s jar. Subsequent trips to Fu’s for sushi have proven the same thing: really good quality fish, and pretty good sized pieces. And they had uni. I guess it pays to be nice to the sushi chef.

I’ve been to this place a few times and they’re always nice. They changed owners and the food was always good, but last night it was okay. My Wonton Soup was good and my chicken and broccoli was ok. This place has gone downhill. I think I’ll pass on returning

Fu’s has continued to decline over the past few years and after ordering yesterday we decided we will never go back. Food was old and bland. So disappointing!

Rarely leave reviews but tired of the inconsistent outcome of every order from FU’s over the past 15 years. Over $ 50 for garbage tonight. It’s like playing the lottery.

I love that they will deliver by me and that I can place my order online. Great Chinese takeout food. All made to order as well. I love their egg foo young, my favorite. Otherwise, nothing fancy about this place. Just fast and great service and food. Can’t beat that.

Great little family restaurant. Very small rustic feel to the place but they make the most of it. Don’t expect glass and granite. Went for lunch and had the owners 3 year old son walk up and hand me a menu. Then his mom shoo’ed him away but not after a good laugh. Great food for the price and always fresh. Had the 3 roll sushi lunch with salad and miso soup for $ 10. Can’t beat it. In and out pretty quick. This place is on my local list for takeout, quick lunches and casual dinner with drinks.

Excellent food, excellent service. Visited for the first time. Hot and Sour soup was best as any we’ve had. Squid w/garlic sauce was unexpected menu item and delicious. Squid was tender and fresh and the sauce was pleasantly spicy as was the shrimp w/garlic sauce. Really liked the extensive and different menu and looking forward to returning. Service was excellent, friendly, and attentive. Manager and owner check in on us as we dined. Nice touch.

Barely edible Chinese, inedible sushi. The fried rice was just white rice with stuff in it(including a hair). The spicy tuna roll was extremely mushy and made me gag(the best sushi in the area by a LONGSHOT is Tokyo Sushi one block away). The sesame chicken and orange beef were JUST ok. The only good thing about the meal were the egg rolls. I’d rather drive an extra 30 minutes to Denville for Hunan Taste(best Chinese in NJ), and will be from now on.

Tried this place in a Tuesday night. Sevice was good. very friendly waiter. Ordered 2 special sushi rolls which were ok, nothing to brag about. The chinese food on the other hand was pretty good! Tried the Basil Beef chow fun(special from the board) and the Fus seafood combo. The menu states it is served I. A «nest» which is usually a delicately fried potato or rice stick bowl. .but it was just on a plate. I didn’t complain because the white sauce on the seafood was delicious. Over all. I am happy to have pretty decent Chinese food in Sussex County.. Mind you my expectations were not that high. Worth a try.

Good food, a big pricier but charging a dollar extra to steam an entrée and a dollar for sauce on the side was a bit surprising. Extra for a tiny container of brown rice seemed to be charging for anything extra. Looks like we will be driving to other local establishments in Sparta next time.

Fu’s Well the name says it F U. Horribly hilarious experience. I’m an ex cook, and know how to treat people, I’m polite, and have never stiffed a waiter or bartender. Well… our waiter was apathetic at best, sarcastic and aggressive at worst. While placing our appetizer order(That Old School favorite, a PuPu Platter), I thought I’d like to try Fu’s Cold Sesame Noodles. When I added that to the order, the waiter sounded incredulous as he repeated back«Cold Sesame Noodles???» (I half expected him to add«Mr. Bond?» to the end of the sentence.) After that it was all downhill, our water avoided us like we had Avian Influenza, but was attentive to the other 2 tables(Yea 3 tables filled on a Saturday night) We had a hard time getting water, drink refills, condiments, etc. etc. I asked for some hot mustard to go with the PuPu, and the waiter finally brought it out after we were finished. I told him don’t worry, we no longer need it. His answer, :Good!“ The food? It was OK I guess it’s probably great by Sussex County standards, because the portions are generous, and the place has cheap drinks. Not sure how I pissed this guy off, but if you dine in at Fu’s, I warn you, never order the Cold Sesame Noodles, unless you want to have an evening of hilarity. ;)

Just moved here not too long ago and we’ve have had their takeout and also have dined in. The food tastes a lot cleaner than other takeout places… not as salty or greasy. Food is consistently good just as another reviewer mentioned. We have had their pork fried rice, deep fried General Tso’s(as opposed to their pan fried option which we haven’t had) and chicken eggrolls which are all excellent. Their sushi rolls and pad thai also very good. Finally, I would definitely recommend their ice cream tempura. My only minor complaint is the portion size is a tad smaller than I’m used to. Haven’t tried any other chinese yet but all in all, we have hit the jackpot with the Chinese!

Really good Chinese food but its a little expensive for the portion size. The food isn’t too greasy which is a plus. I just wish you got a little more for your money. They also have sushi which is pretty good.

Fu’s is good basic Chinese food, and is the same every time. What is also the same is the monotone voice when you call for delivery and unfriendly service. I’m finally done with this place after my last experience.

This place has gone down even more since my last review. Fus used to be good. It says there open until 11 on a saturday but everytime we call at 9:40 they say they can’t deliver anymore. When I am 2 min down the road. They must not want business if they are open, you should not refuse a sale. I can call any other chinese food place who would deliver even if they closed in 10 minutes. The plastic food containers are only 1⁄3 of a way filled and its already pricey. Food is constantly different every time you get it. If this place doesn’t step it up they will continue to go under.

Fu’s has been my all-time favorite Chinese restaurant since they opened(25 years). BUT… recently, their quality has slipped considerably. My wife and I recently ordered a large order for take out. When we started opening the containers, we were very disappointed. My wife ordered Deep Fried Sesame Beef and the container was not even half full(closer to 1⁄3). This item costs $ 13.95. I had ordered an egg roll and the bag was dripping with oil. And the Boneless Spare Ribs were mostly fat. This was just the last example but it has been happening more and more frequently. I love(d) Fu’s but if their quality doesn’t improve, we might have to find a new, favorite restaurant. It’s a shame after being loyal customers for so long.
