Best burger in town, amazing value. A large fry can split between 3 people, with 3 burgers, less than $ 15!

With this place nearby I don’t see any reason to go to any other fast food place. This is not health food but it is tasty. The milkshakes are very good and so is the food. THEY ONLY ACCEPT CASH. No credit.

good cheap food. Burger and fries are great. They have been for a long time. I would go here anyday over McDonald’s or 5 guys. Yes they do not take credit cards, but credit cards cost the business money so they can keep prices low by not taking them. Doesn’t bother me at all.

Not for the health conscious! It’s been about 4 years since I had last eaten at the Thrifty Scotsman and honestly the food hasn’t changed a bit since then.
Drove by there today and got a Super Bacon Burger and fries and a small drink. I’ll say that the fries and tartar are on point. The tartar is like Zip’s. The fries and tartar were really what I wanted when I went there. The burgers are just cheap with basic buns and small patties that are about half an inch thick if not smaller. I know people on here rave about the burgers but honestly they are nothng special. They are basically just like Zip’s burgers but not as good in my opinion.
I guess my only complaints are that the burgers are always smashed when you get them! Like it looks like a fat lady sat on them. Idk why they always look like that. And it’s 2016 and this place only takes cash… time to step into this century Thrifty! Cash only is a huge inconvience. And lastly, can you say gutbomb? After eating at the Scotsman I literally had to use the restroom about 5 minutes after I was done. I barely made it home in time… it was a photo finish if you know what I mean! Lol!
I’d say give them a try if you’re looking for a greasy spoon kinda place and are in the mood for something different than McDonald’s. Their prices are decent but wait is long in the drive thru FYI… I think this place is decent but like many Spokane «staples» its way overhyped. People in Spokane just seem to love nostalgia and being blind to a restaurants flaws.

My family has been going to Thrifty for over 20 years. Best burgers in town, big fries, great shakes, and an old school feel.

This place hasn’t changed since they opened the joint (which I love)! A mom & pops diner feel. Cheap eats. Old school. Simple. Great burgers and large portions. Closed on Sundays.

Really good food a fraction of the price. There is a reason they have been in business as long as I can remember.

I don’t think you will ever get a better burger for the price. Homemade shakes and the best home style fries. Play a vintage pole position race arcade and I would recommend the super bacon my utimate favorite. They also make a great tarter for your enjoyment. Make sure you bring cash and quarters for the games as they don’t accept cards.

The last few times we’ve eaten here the whole family feels a little ill and really fatigued for a few hours after. We’re not pretending this is health food, but we’re done eating here.

Nothing fancy here! The basics food groups; burgers, fries and great shakes. I would recommend the strawberry shake it was super yummy. They make a unique double burger by making the bun bigger. My wife loves the chicken strips and their sweet chilli dipping sauce. All in all ⁷⁄₁₀. Staff was great and order was up fast and hot. The food was simple but tasty.

The Thrifty Scotsman is a hidden gem in Spokane Valley! The burgers were fresh and delicious, the portions of fries were huge, and the fry sauce and tarter sauce made everything even better. The quality of the food is better than you expect from the popular fast food chains, and the prices are more reasonable as well. Our group was starving and drove away with two full bags of burgers, fries, an order of chicken strips, and two shakes for around the same price as just two large size combo meals at the other places.
Is it health food? No. Is there grease? Damn right. Is it delicious? Very. Will it haunt your dreams for days on end until you come back? Yup… welcome to your new addiction. Buckle up.

Great cheap cheeseburgers fries and shakes! Definitely better than Jack in the Box and McDonald’s without all the gross feeling afterwards other than being full. Their chicken strips are pretty good too very crispy and comes with plenty of fries in the box. Chicken fried steak sandwich is suprisingly awesome, tender on the inside and still crispy whilst mayo n lettuce n tomato sit on top, delicious. Their service is pretty fast their drive thru is hidden in the back but a bit close to the back entrance for my taste… trying to keep those thrill seekers entertained eh? I highly recommend the double cheeseburgers, fries, and peanut butter shake (has chunky peanut bits in it mmmm) with some fry sauce if she asks, thats my usual combo and im stickin to it!

This place has some of the best food cooked fresh and not processed all made there I asked I love it so much and would recommend it to anyone!!!

Family owned, small and delicious. Burgers are good as is the fries. Friendly service and smiles from everyone. Kids always ask for a quick bite when we drive by.
