I’ve been brunching at Chaps for the past 8 years and I’m embarrassed to say I’m just now writing a review, quelle horreur! I absolutely love the blueberry muffin french toast with that amazing whipped cream cheese and blueberry compote. The bacon and potatoes that are served with it, are perfect, too! I had dinner there for the first time last night for restaurant week and I’m kicking myself for not going sooner! I had the lobster rangoon and tenderloin medallions with risotto and pancetta wrapped asparagus. All dishes were wonderfully prepared and the portions were generous. On Thursday nights they have live music… the band, Spare Parts, really added to our overall dining experience. I just love the atmosphere and décor. I appreciate the uniqueness in the way the service is setup, and I just adore the owner and all the friendly faces that prepare the awesome food and provide the amazing customer service! So lucky to have this gem so close to my home!

I have to still give this a 5. It’s Spokane restaurant week. All stops out. Greeted by owner Celeste has a heart of gold a smile that lights sky. After much pondering she twisted my arm on the pot pie. Wow killer. It’s completely scratch made. Puff pastry beautiful made in there in house bakery. As you start at top you get a nice crisp crunch then the soft buttery falsely middle. The rich gravy and vegi under is so nice with the buttery pastry. Then the surprise for me was mash at bottom with the rich gravy. Unreal

Met a girlfriend here for lunch one morning in January. It was cold outside and just walking into the place made you feel warm, and it is very inviting. The pecan roll I had was delicious, and the coffee was good. It was morning, and I don’t eat a lot in the mornings, but all of the food that passed by us looked good and the smell was divine. I will visit again.

Have been to Chaps many times over the past few years and I have never been disappointed! I love getting an espresso in the big cup too! Always a beautiful presentation and delicious! I’ve tried the oatmeal, French toast, veggie omelet and BLT! Their desserts are always fresh and tasty. I always try to bring my friends and family here too!

Get ready to walk into every girl ever’s Pinterest page. You will be drinking out of mason jars, wooden surfaces will appear rustic, it will be very«cute», and you will love it. I’ve been here a few times for breakfast and whether you choose sweet or savory you cannot go wrong. I will only comment on the oatmeal because its the most recent thing I had, but it was one of the best oatmeals I’ve ever had. It is very hearty and maybe could have used more cream but g’damn it was good! Be that boring guy who just gets oatmeal and I promise everyone will be jealous once they try it.

One of my favorite breakfast places in Spokane(2nd only to cottage café). I’ve been there 4 times now and loved it every single time. From their more conventional breakfasts to PB&J French toast, you will be happy you came. The restaurant has an awesome vintage feel to it. They have a rack of fresh croissants, donuts, and other pastries by the register that are all pretty tasty too. I’d say I’ve come in contact with 5 or 6 different employees and they are all fantastic. We will come back again… and again…

Their hours are listed as 7:30AM — 9:00PM or 10:00PM, but I’ve tried to meet friends and business partners there a few times and they have been closed. One time at 7:30AM and another time at 4:00PM. For the 7:30AM meeting, we went next-door to the grocery store for coffee. For the 4PM meeting, we went across the parking lot to Latah Bistro.

Chaps is a very quaint restaurant and once you walk in you will realize that the building was not meant to be one, but they’ve made it work quite well and it gives are very personal and homey feel. The menu is never very large and you pay before you eat(which I prefer) but it always is full of great options. Weekends have different menus which I think have better options more of the time but it is never bad any of the other days of the week. Their pastries and scones are killer. The omelets are good. If you get the chance, you must try the Blueberry Muffin French Toast. It is exactly what it says. Muffin dough in french toast form. Tastiest french toast of my life. If you’re in the area, this is a place you’ll love.

You can have an omelette almost anywhere and your appetite will be fulfilled most of the time. It’s hard to make an omelette go wrong but even harder to master. Having said that, the Spanish omelette at Chap’s was beyond perfect. It was just the right size. It had the right amount of vegetables: avocado, red onion, red bell pepper. Just the right amount of cheese as well. The egg was my kind of fluffy. All in all, masterfully balanced. Served with a side of what we call in the south Country Potatoes. I left my plate clean and my appetite was satisfied. Their coffee is organic Ethiopian, from what they explained, and to me the several cups I had were proof that that coffee was fantastic. When you’re working around the country as often as I do it’s hard to find the perfect cup of Joe. Diner coffee has that distinct it-is-what-it-is-blandness flavor. Now I’m not comparing Chap’s to a diner by any means because it is far from it but it felt awesome to finally enjoy the perfect cup of coffee with my lunch. And they encourage you to get as much coffee as you please(as it is self serve). Their bathrooms are awesome too! Long story short, it looks like you can shoot a rap music video in them from how decorated they are.

I love chaps. This place has always become my go to place when I am bringing friends or family into town for breakfast. I have always found the servers to be friendly intelligence handsome and youthful. The kitchen should be very proud every time I have had a meal here it has been perfect! Keep up the great work and don’t let any standards down or take any shortcuts.

Worth a trip just for the unique décor. It’s like a Pinterest grenade went off. Food was decent but not incredible. Still a top tier breakfast spot. Portions are like you’d make at home, you probably won’t have leftovers. If you’ve been other good Spokane breakfasts, this should be on your list.

I will just say I’m not impressed with the food and/or the customer service. Will I give it another try, probably not. From the pictures the food might look tempting, but if you notice they did burn my sandwich. The soup was kind of blah and the salad was very wet because it was drowning in sauce. Anyway, good luck on this one!

Stopped in here after seeing this place on Diner’s, Drive-In’s and Dives. I can see why this place was so successful prior to being on Triple D. Located about 15 minutes from the Spokane Airport and on our way to Walla Walla. When you walk in, you are immediately hit with the fresh scents of a bakery. The smell of warm bread is all around, very inviting. You are asked to review the menu and then place your order at the cash register. From there, you will be seated and your meal will be brought to you. They have two separate menus. One features breakfast and one features lunch/dinner. Both menus look fantastic offering numerous food options. We decided on the Blueberry Muffin French toast. This comes with potatoes and bacon. The french toast was fantastic. A nice sweet blueberry ‘jelly’ and blueberry cream cheese are on top. You can use syrup, but I would recommend that you do not. I did not use any and was not disappointed. The french toast is super thick and moist and simply melts in your mouth. The bacon was thick and fatty, pretty much perfect. This is a place you can easily go to for any meal. We got here around 2pm on a Saturday so there was no line, but the staff says it can get really busy with long waits. The staff here was very courteous and friendly. This is a must try if you love a good hearty breakfast.

Fantastic place for a breakfast or brunch date. The roast beef panini dip and sirloin burger with roasted potatoes were excellent. We sat outside and enjoyed the atmosphere. We did however fought with the wasp the whole time, not really anyone’s fault but still took some pleasure away. Next time we’ll try inside.

Quirky, cute décor and lovely outdoor patio area. Service was very friendly. Food was better than expected. I wish they had clearer instructions for newcomers for the ordering system and breakfast availability. I read through precious Unilocal reviews but was still a little confused. The group behind us was confused too. You walk inside, wait in line, order, and they give you an order number/direct you where you’ll be seated. You can choose between indoor or outdoor. There are limited shaded areas so be aware of that, especially since the summer weather has been ridiculously hot. There’s a little sand pit for kids to play in outside too. I was excited to try the blueberry French toast but apparently that(and everything else on the online breakfast menu) is only offered on the weekends. Their daily breakfast offerings are listed on a small chalk board near the register. The regular French toast I got was still pretty good. The bacon was thick and hearty and the potatoes were unique. I don’t eat eggs but my boyfriend said his eggs tasted really fresh. Definitely better than typical breakfast food offered at restaurants/diners, even though they were just typical offerings. The ingredients tasted fresh and the food tasted homemade. Everything came out relatively quickly too, which was nice. We’ll try to come back on a weekend. I want to try their baked goods too!

Went here for Mother’s Day brunch… Line was long, but there’s plenty of tables and help… So you get in line to order your food, and in that time, someone is also there to choose a table and get it ready for you. You are given a number and take a seat at your table. Your food is then brought out to you… The ambience is amazing. Artistic, vintage, cozy, eclectic, homey… Lots of space and things to see. It was a gorgeous day, so we were actually able to sit out front. The food itself was of good quality and taste. I had a breakfast sandwich(BLT on a croissant with egg). A large size, flaky buttery croissant, and thick cuts of bacon. It was good, but also a bit dry. The egg in the sandwich was small in comparison to everything else, with the yolk cooked. I would have enjoyed it more with runny yolk, egg in every bite, or some kind of spread(mayo or a pesto maybe)… I also tried the oatmeal. Served with hot milk and topped with blueberries, it was DELICIOUS. Probably the best oatmeal I’ve ever had. Creamy, slightly sweet, and with some texture in the oats, I actually liked it better than the sandwich. Husband had the blueberry muffin French toast topped with a blueberry cream type thing. I was expecting more of a muffin taste, but still pretty delicious. Waffles were huge and cooked well, but the peach/strawberry compote it came with added great flavor. Oh yea, and they also have a rack of baked goods right by the register. We took some scones, cookies, and pumpkin bread to go! Yum! (Update– just tried their Pb cookie and their oatmeal cookie… Soft and chewy with a very slight crunch. Sweet and so good! Also had a bite of their chocolate orange scone. Their scones are dry and crumbly, but with a lovely subtle flavor. Perfect for coffee or tea) While the food was pretty good, the atmosphere and great service definitely adds to the overall experience. LOVE this place and so glad we were able to check it out while we were in town!

I really can’t write a review that does this place justice. You pretty much have to try it for yourself. But I’ll attempt something nonetheless. Chaps is amazing. The end. No really, it is the best breakfast I have ever eaten. And I’ve eaten a lot of breakfasts. The portions are huge! The décor is eclectic and welcoming. The flavors are, um, flavoriffic(it’s a word, I swear). I had the blueberry muffin french toast and my son had these humungous pancakes(I think the menu says they are humungous, but we figured that was just up-selling, until we saw them). My wife had a classic breakfast with sausage that looked like a small brain. Then there were the pastries. Some ball thingies with maple on them? I don’t know what they were. Delicious! A scone, a tart, some other flaky treats. Yum! Make the drive. Eat there soon. Invite me!

This is my favorite breakfast/lunch places in Cheney. Chaps has a wonderful atmosphere. Surrounded by art, gallery, tasty pastries, and a group of staff who will make your day. I have not had a single bad experience here. Here are some pro’s/cons. Pros: — Great parking area.(Free Parking) — Beautiful Lawn — a great time to eat out here in the summer. There is also a vintage pick up truck parked on the lawn — just to add to its personality. — Breakfast menu is the main reason why I eat here. — Staff is always energetic and polite. –Beautiful interior — love the art on the wall. –Smells great — of fresh food/bakery. Cons: –It’s a little pricey.(But its worth it) Hope you get to go out to Chaps soon. It a nice relaxing place to eat.
