Decided to give this a try for breakfast Sunday morning around 10:30. Restaurant was not busy. We were greeted by a friendly hostess I think her name was Hillary. Our server(I didn’t catch his name) was not good. At all. Slower than molasses. Completely on his terms. Once we were ready to order he said that he’d be back after a bit to take our order. Why even ask if we are ready to order if you don’t want to take our order? 5 – 10 minutes later he took our order. The food was good. Not spectacular, but it was good. I ordered the bacon scramble. My friends Benedict was cold. But she managed to eat it. The breakfast potatoes were bland. Our server never came back to check on us. Luckily Hilary did which was nice. She may as well have been our server: All in all, I’ll go back and give it another try because I did enjoy the food. But if I get the same server I will request a different one. I would like to try dinner on my next visit because I have heard such great things.

AMAZING!!! Wow! There were a lot of mixed reviews here so I was a little hesitant on going to Latah Bistro but I am so glad we did! We went to dinner here last night for restaurant week and everything was excellent. We started with the Garlic Flatbread with Cambozola cheese and WOW!!! I could make a meal out of this, it was so fricking delicious, I just didn’t want it to end! If you are going to Latah, definitely order the flatbread to start as you will not be disappointed. Next, from the restaurant week menu, we ordered the Arugula and Fried Dough Salad which was delicious as well. It had little pieces of fried pizza crust which tasted so good with the cheese and tomatoes on the salad, YUM! For dinner, I had the Maple Bourbon Pork Tenderloin w/Sweet Potato and Goat Horn Pepper Hash and Corn Bread Fritters — OMG, I wish this was part of their regular menu. the pork was sweet and tasty and perfectly balanced by the spicy hash and sweet fritters. I didn’t want this one to end either! He had the Sauteed Wild Prawns & Dungeness Crab Pasta w/Roasted Butternut Squash, Prosciutto, English Peas, in a Dungeness Crab Cream Sauce. He LOVED it! So rich and the seafood was perfectly cooked. There was not one ounce of anything left on his plate with this one — SOOOOOGOOD!!! For dessert, we both ordered the English Toffee Pudding Cake which was also fantastic! Our waiter was awesome and took great care of us, the restaurant was lovely and again the food was amazing! I cannot wait to return. :-)

Much better than valentine’s eve. i came in just wanting some of their yummy Flatbread. .but.no can do. not even to go. the host person very attimate about not letting me even make a order. .because i wasn’t a couple. .I realize this eve was a special one. but I left feeling like a non special person. . I did stop by this evening .and the hostess almost wouldn’t look for up at the bar until I said oh this has happened before. then she looked and found a seat… food Great. …bartender accommodating Once I ordered food… if you live in this neighborhood and they know you… i say… its the best little place in town for locals .

We have been to Latah Bistro countless times and have never been disappointed. Their seared tuna was my favorite, but I haven’t seen it on the menu last couple times I’ve been there. Great wine choices. Their food is fresh and local. The chef behind the cooking glass will even greet you if he sees you enter. My favorite servers to name a few are; Trish, Dan, Erica, and Hilary! Beautiful atmosphere!

The only reason it’s getting two stars is that the waiter was very nice and the cocktail was prepaired correctly. Otherwise do not order dinner here, especially the scallops and the so called halibut that tasted like cod!

VERY hit and miss. Last Mother’s day they had a small, well selected buffet. Everything was delicious, even had the optional Crab Benedict. I was overwhelmed by the selection and missed out on a few things, so when I found out they were offering table service this year, I was keen to go back. I’ve been going to Latah Bistro since they opened, but of late, they’ve fallen off their game. I’d given up until last year’s Mother’s Day Buffet: previously a soup that tasted like cheap gravy, waitress LOUDLY announcing that extra prawns on the salad would cost extra(really, I’ve had MUCH better service at the Spangle Harvester, consistently better, I might add!), things that should be hot are cold, things that should be cold are room temperature, raw pork, the list is long. Long enough that I gave up. So when the buffet came out well we decided to try again this year. Our waitress was a blonde with a curly bob who was more interested in hanging out behind the bar and a petite waitress with glasses ended up helping us. We had to ask for HOT coffee(seriously, how is it possible to serve lukewarm coffee?) I had the Crab Benedict, which not only shrank in size, but flavor. My potatoes were warm in the middle and my eggs on my benedict were cold to the touch. I am so frustrated with this place. You’d think that they would realize their potential. Don’t kid yourself, though, Chaps, which is across the parking lot, had a huge crowd, people waiting in line and was bursting at the seams. I wonder why? To the blonde waitress with the curly bob: go do a stint at McDonalds where they teach you to WORK while you are on your shift. You got a $ 5 dollar tip, and I think it was $ 5 too much. I think I’m pretty much done with Latah Bistro. Too many fails, too many weird staffing choices. For a start you folks aren’t making food so very great that your staff can be this difficult. Really.

Grabbed a couple appetizers here with some girlfriends. The atmosphere was great, good service and good wine selection. I will update when I get a chance to actually try the entrée menu, which after trying appetizers I am definitely intrigued to try!

Enjoyed the halibut with chutney. We also tried specialty pizza. Chef has good finesse with sweet and savory and cocktails were great. All the staff was the finest in friendly service. Recommended by a friend, happy we stopped in!

I’m appalled at the service of this restaurant. Went in there to get dinner to go with my mother, and cousin. We had just got done playing golf at a nearby course. When we got to the restaurant we were having a glass of wine waiting for our food and the waitress refused to serve my mother who by the way had not consumed any alcohol. It was as if this waitress had a personal vendetta. Terrible service, and not even that great of food. This girl should have been fired on the spot. Then after I asked the girl why she wouldn’t serve my mother she kicked me out. Boooooo latah Booooooo!

I am happy to say that things seem to have gone back to normal at Latah. We are back to loving it there. Great staff, great food, great atmosphere.

Great, knowledgable and quick service and a pretty decent bar. Had the gnocchi, it was disappointing. Very skimpy portion, the very few dumplings that there were fell apart(not in a good way) in the dish. Sauce was too watery and relatively bland. Veggies were pretty well cooked.

Full disclosure: We intended to go to Chaps for brunch and only came to Latah because Chaps was closed for Memorial Day Weekend. Latah Bistro not only saved our bacon, but they cooked it for us too! They do brunch every Saturday and Sunday starting at 9AM. If you don’t feel like waiting in that line at Chaps(or if Chaps is closed for whatever reason), I definitely recommend moseying over to Latah. It’s right across the parking lot from Chaps, but it has a distinctly different feel. Even though it’s along the very rural Cheney-Spokane Road, you would have an easy time believing that you’re in a small downtown bakery/café. It’s cute and well worth the relatively short trip from the city. The brunch menu isn’t particularly extensive, so I would have a hard time justifying coming back several times, but it is worth at least one visit. We ordered the corned beef hash and the bacon baguette sandwich. Both were very good. Not overly filling, but very tasty. The potatoes that came with the bacon baguette sandwich were pretty flavorless, but that can be remedied with some tabasco or ketchup. But all the food was fresh and well-prepared. I liked that they had a fridge full of chocolate. If you’re a chocolate fan, do yourself a favor and come out here. They even had a few Theo chocolate bars in there. Big ups to the Fremont chocolatier for getting their wares out to Spokane! It made me feel like I never left home. I checked out their martini menu and wine list as was impressed. I’d love to come back here for dinner next time I’m in Spokane to enjoy a cocktail and try some of their seafood selections.

Very happy with our Valentine’s Day experience last night. The food was excellent. My wife ordered the hangar steak. I ordered the quail. Both were perfectly prepared, with delicious sides. We were not the easiest customers because we turned down the first table they offered us which was right by the door. They were very accommodating and moved us to a more intimate part of the restaurant within a few minutes. The service throughout the dining experience was top-notch. I have explored fine-dining in Spokane and if you are looking for fresh, delicious food matched with exceptional service, this is the location for you. Only criticism… we ordered our flat bread without the cheese, and it arrived with a hearty slab of cheese on top. Not really a criticism because I thoroughly enjoyed it!

This is my second trip for dinner at L bistro. Great atmosphere and can accommodate large parties. Don’t get me started on the chocolate, five stars by itself!

This is my updated review. This place has been consistent in quality and freshness up until recently. Last couple times I have been there, I have noticed some cutting corners on the salads. Nuts and cheeses are not as generous as they used to be. Wines are not served at the proper temperature. This was not the case until the last few months. This used to be a perfect place to sip that perfect glass of wine. Not so much now. Service is still professional and just the right amount of attentiveness. What prompted me to update my review was one of my favorite appetizers, the rosemary cashews. I ordered these tonight, and I thought I’d been served stuff out of the plastic jar at Costco. There was hardly ANY rosemary seasoning on the cashews at all. This is a totally different appetizer from what it used to be. It was like they had forgotten to add the seasonings.

We are regulars there, so we love it that they keep the menu new and exciting depending on the season. Not the same items every time we go in. Except for a few of their«staple» menu items. Last night we decided to make it just a night of drinks on the patio. We sat at the cute little nook outside with the wooden chairs and table. It was perfect. I enjoyed a couple(or few) glasses of wine, my husband had an IPA, and the server even had the kitchen make my daughter a root beer float with their home made vanilla ice cream. We hadn’t planned on eating there, but stayed so long enjoying ourselves that we ended up ordering some food. The owner of the restaurant even brought us out some of their gluten free chocolate muffins when she heard I couldn’t eat gluten. They were heavenly. I seriously woke up thinking about them this morning. The service there is impeccable. A perfect night.

This is a cozy little place that I really enjoyed. Getting a reservation for mother’s day brunch was a bit of a nightmare. Latah Bistro managed to squeeze us in though. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast menu was great. Not your usual style breakfasts. I had a hard time choosing my entrée. I ended up getting two eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the bacon was delicious, the potatoes were a little dry but still yummy and the toast was a toasted baguette with this delicious apple spread. Everyone at our table enjoyed what they had. I would definitely return and recommend it to anyone.

Six months ago i would have given this place higher stars. They HAD the best French Onion soup in Spokane. Hands down. I go to far lengths to get good Onion soup. The last couple times we have been there it has been some of the worst i have ever had in town! Im pregnant and was going there 3 – 4 times a week(as i live close) up until they changed their menu and their soup. Their apps are good. Love their flat bread. I have to agree with others that its a bit expensive for the atmosphere you are getting. Also note that your options are limited. The pizza is good but NOT worth $ 18. Wine menu is great so is the service. I hope the change things back to the way it was. Including adding back their turkey/goat cheese sandwich.
