Great and personable service, perfect amount of well seasoned food, comfortable seating, and an overall nice atmosphere. A bit on the spendy side, but overall a nice place.

So, stay away at restaurant if you are hungry. I have never had a single bit sized filet in my life.

Food absolutely fabulous. Had Sara for waitress. She was horrible! Never came to table and makes a terrible cocktail. Mathew on the other hand was wonderful. Unfortunately we moved from bar to booth. Hence, Mathew to Sara.

Had dinner with my dearest girlfriend & boyfriend last night. We sat in the bar area nice booth. Lighting was amazing. Service from Rachel & Adam was perfect. Our filet minion was perfect as were our appetizers & side dishes. I would go again in a heart beat and now consider Spencer’s as one of the best-kept-secrets in Spokane. The only reason this gem did not get 5⁄5 stars is this; presentation was lacking. The plate choices and plating itself. For example: the spinach side looked uninviting. Remember. First we eat with our eyes. We brought our own wine and they provided elegant red wine glasses which were amazing and seemed to only add to the overall elegance. If you eat here. Eat in the bar. It’s gorgeous & classy!

After a long drive from Calgary, this restaurant was THE place to try out so we wouldn’t have to walk or drive out for dinner. We were glad that we were able to take advantage of the HH. The half off price is even for the kiddo. The kid’s green salad with balsamic vinegrett was fresh and tasty. The kid’s 4 oz steak was really good too. My 7 oz steak was cooked just right as ordered. Among the orders we had, the calamari was definitely unique and tasty. Although the squids had normal cuts, the veggies came with it were very good. Never had guacamole in calamari before, but I really enjoyed it. The server was very sweet and friendly. We will comes back again next time.

Just stopped in for happy hour while staying at the hotel. Pleasently surprised to see they have Chimay on tap! Nice bar appetizer list all at half price. I had the oysters from Day Bob Bay. Super tasty and arrived fast. Bar tender was personal and very descriptive about the food. Easy 5 stars.

Amazing! We first sat at the bar and were extremely catered to be Adam. Then we were kindly taken by Rachel to our table. For an appetizer we chose the Broiled beefsteak tomatoes in a delicious balsamic vinegar glaze topped with fine melted mozzarella cheese. We ordered the filet mignon med rare {served as requested}, mashed golden Yukon, buttery and mouth watering potatoes, broccolini with melted mozzarella and garlic, Tuscan bread with butter, killer Parmesan Crusted Halibut(the best we have had in 20 years), sautéed button mushrooms that came sizzling to our table that enticed our noses, accompanied by mixed and mouthwaterin cosmopolitans. Finally, the wrap up to our tastebud explosion, the Cheescake wrapped in phylo dough with Kiwi salsa. On a side note about the desesert… We asked for the kiwi salsa on the side, and Sarah made us promise to at least try one bite with the kiwi salsa. After our first bite, we poured the entire salsa on our cheesecake. My suggestion-cheesecake is cheesecake phyllo dough just enhances it but the Kiwi salsa over the top was Heaven. At least try it. Thank you Sarah. Okay now for those of you who don’t want to spend money. The prices were fair market value for A restaurant of this caliber which includes the outstanding service, delicious and gourmet food as well as the ambiance. You will spend money. But you will enjoy! The portions were much larger than expected and we could not finish the entire meal. Yay! More more for tomorrow. We will be back.

Hands down best steak house in downtown. I was part of a large speaker presentation in the banquet room @ Spencers. We dined on several dishes and I am eager to share our experience and I have a feeling this wasn’t a fluke :) We started dinner with drinks/crab cakes. These crab cakes were lightly browned and were full of real crab, not krab. The cake was a slightly dense, tasty appetizer. The serving didn’t provide enough tartar sauce so if you ENJOY dipping sauces you better order extra. The dinner salad was delightful, nice flavored mixed greens topped with blue cheese crumbles, dried cranberries, walnuts or peanuts(I don’t recall) including a nice balsamic dressing. Main course was the 12 oz ribeye, this is a nice size meat portion for the meat tasting fanatics. The steak came out perfectly prepared and with a great balance of grill flavor and salt/seasoning. The meat was aged to perfection, cuts easily with the butter knife and is well-marbled with fat – this is not a bad thing, knowing that ribeye contains a higher percentage of fats versus the filet. I have been taught that fat has a great flavor and I appreciate that. Sides included home style mashed yellow potatoes, nice and lumpy like granny’s holiday recipe. Broccoli was crisp, firm, and tasted fresh. The presentation was well done as the broccoli had ample shredded parmigiana. Warm bread was also presented before the main courses came out. Once finished we tasted the chocolate naughty cake with salted caramel ice cream scoop. I must admit the ice cream was delicious and the cake was very strong in the chocolate department but I am biased as I do not enjoy chocolate. I had the cream brûlée which was accompanied by a frozen white chocolate covered spoon. The handle was clear of any chocolate if anyone had the wrong idea. This custard is thick, very rich and has a nice thick crust of caramelized sugar on the top. Everything smelled good, looked good and tasted good. I’m not a huge red meat eater these days we all keep nutrition in mind. A night of splurge is a great idea to visit Spencers. I would return anytime, the valet service is tips only for the food customers :0) We left the building with smiles and tasty memories.

322 N. Spokane Falls Ct.(Downtown Spokane, near the Convention Center) It is here where our area’s movers and shakers gather. Spencer’s is the ideal place for an impressive power lunch or an elegant carnivore dinner. Definitely an establishment where you splurge, but the Happy Hour in the in-restaurant lounge is a delicious option with a substantial ½-price offer. *Happiest Hours: 4 – 6 p.m. daily in the Lounge. ½ off entire the bar menu, which includes some outstanding and creative food items.

Not as fancy as Churchill’s, but convenient when you are staying at the DoubleTree. The staff is always friendly and nice and the food is always… even. Nothing spectacular really. Just solid food. I take clients here and they seem to like it a bit more than me, but I think it is due to the franchise feel of the menu and the presentations. Asking for exceptions always raises and eyebrow, but they do comply.

In Spokane to bury my dad, and ate four times at Spencer’s during my stay. The food was memorable, but it was the genuinely friendly, knowledgeable staff that made this a five star experience. Fish offerings were unusually yummy due to their unique qualities and presentation. –Andy Gregg,

I ate at the bar, and ordered a steak burger, substituting onion curls for fries at no extra charge. Absolutely a great and tasty steak burger and the best fried onions that I have had in years. So many disappointments and finally some great onion rings. The bartender is knowledgeable about beers and I had a wonderful dark stout. 5 stars!

In a sadly dated hotel, this place with the dreadfully dated name surpasses expectations. Somehow it’s clubby décor keeps pace with the makings of a traditional steak house and the food and service actually worked wonderfully. I had a steak kabob which was perfect. The next night, their fresh made Caesar salad with fresh anchovies was exceptional. I must say Spokane’s old school steakhouse Rises to the occasion.

Happy hour at Spencer’s made me pretty happy for a couple hours. I came for the pre-six-o’clock discounts, stayed for dinner, and left tipsy and full. It’s easily the best meal I’ve ever eaten at a Double Tree Hotel. A draft beer of whatever the Beer ‘o da Day was started the happiness while a few rounds of Gin & Tonic got me through dinner. What’s the point of eating at a hotel bar/restaurant if you can’t take advantage of the«I ain’t driving» as a hotel guest excuse, right? Two bowls of piping hot goodness kept the happy times rolling. White Cheddar Mac & Cheese with Candied Bacon($ 8.50) was cheesier than Nicolas Cage … and probably whiter, too. If the Mac ‘n Cheese is close to a must order then the Six Onion Soup with Sourdough Croutons and melted Gruyère Crust($ 9) is a must order. The thick cheese cap protecting the warm onion soup is chewy soup fun. By the time my steak dinner arrived, I was already getting stuffed, but an American(Lindsay Ranch) Kobe-style Tri-Tip Sirloin Steak with a side of Steamed Broccolini($ 22) was a decent cut of meat(Medium). I’ve had better steaks … of course, this steak was half the price of those steaks, too. Few hotel restaurants can be deemed destination dining, but Spencer’s for Steaks and Chops may actually reach that level in Spokane, WA. If you are staying at the Double Tree there really is no reason not to take advantage of happy hour and/or dinner for drinks, a steak, and some cheesy appetizers.

I recently went back to Spokane to visit. I lived there for 10 years. In that ten years I ranted and raved about Spencer’s being the best steak I have ever had. Bringing family and friends there every chance I got. I had no problem paying the money for a perfectly marbled bone-in ribeye. I had had probably about 20 of them. My girlfriend and I went there a few weeks ago so I could show here the steak I had being taliing about for years. It was an utter disappointment. I had heard that the ownership had changed hands and that the quality had gone down. This steak was tough and flavorless. I have had SELECT steaks with better flavor and texture than this. To top it all off, they jacked up the price to 54 dollars, no more salad with the meal, had to pay for that separate. Even the loaded hashbrowns were dry and bland. They also had the audacity of spattering a bit of there homemade steak sauce as a garnish. What does that tell you? The service was fine, the girl was a little different, but all in all fine. My girlfriends filet was nothing special either. The wine list was still very strong but as usual, way over priced. It was a good run Spencer’s, but I will never be back again. You can find me at Churchills in Spokane.

I can’t believe that I am leaving a steakhouse in a Hilton property a 5 star review. However, I would be hard pressed to find a better meal in Spokane than I witnessed this evening. We sat at the bar prior to dinner enjoying a wonderful bottle of Central Washington state wine. The booths were recently reupholstered with memory foam. I have never sat at a more comfortable seat in a bar in my life. I was content staying here all night. Eventually we needed to move to the dining room. Our waiter was extremely nice and full knowledgeable of the menu. I made it clear that I am not a steak guy and he suggested I try the parmesan crusted halibut. The halibut was flawless. I enjoyed every morsel of this huge portion. And, I will return to Spokane to have it all over again. My meal started off with some wonderful French onion soup. Delicious and clearly hit the spot. I enjoyed this place. It was a quality establishment with exceptional food and service. It is obviously pricey by Spokane standards. However, pricey is fine when the food is amazing. Thank you Spencer’s. Look forward to future meals here.

Checked in hotel then a quick lunch to start the day. I had the cobb salad shaken not stirred. Loved it. Service was excellent. I’m very much looking at a steak here tomorrow night. Décor is classic steak.

This is more of a tip— they have GREAT happy hour deals, a glass of wine is 4 $, and it was good wine!!! Great service as well. Kinda leery of the menu prices, but I really loved the happy hour :)
