Overall Favorites: Pretzel Sticks $ 3.50 Brat Sampler $ 7.95 Ayinger Celebrator– Dopple Bock Details: Happy Hour only in Bar from 4 – 7 no minors allowed … 25% off apps but not in restaurant side. Sob. Humorous observations: First thing I noticed was the promient presence of Ricky Martin on their playlist… can a girl get some Hasselhoff or Eidelweiss? Second thing I noticed was the restaurant is a bit cluttered(which is why I wanted to sit in the lounge area as I feel the lighting and décor is better on the pub-side). I love the German flag, Bavarian pictures, and steins but they also had Christmas garlands, Valentine’s décor, and purple ceilings. Apps were delish, would go back but just to the bar. Dinner was fine but overall too salty and too expensive.

Excellent, excellent! Sat in the bar for lunch, nice atmosphere. Service outstanding by both servers! Friendly and knowledgeable. Started off with hot wings, cooked to perfection. Shared the chicken schnitzel, very tasty. Server even split our meal and gave us each salads. Tried the beer sampler, delicious. Will be back!!!

Best hot wings we have in a long time. Beer sampler was fun at a fair price. We shared the Chicken Schnitzel and it was amazing. Really liked the sauerkraut. The server was absolutely delightful and attentive pretty amazing service for how busy she was.

So many different options and everything we have tried was delicious. The sauce for the beef stroganoff is fantastic and the handmade noodles go perfectly together. The cheese sauce for the warm pretzels is amazing too. We discovered this place because of a coupon and were able to try so many different items because it was such a good deal.

Delicious! Staff was gracious and friendly. I had the brat combo and two beers. The Weihenstephan was so good and the Zwickel wasn’t bad neither. Definitely recommend to anyone interested in reasonably priced German cuisine.

Absolutely wonderful! I had the Jäger Schnitzel with sauerkraut and it was so delicious! My husband had the brat combo and it looked good. The brats had little flags in them. So cute! The kids had stuff from the kids menu. The Mac and cheese wedges is what our youngest had and she loved it. We will definitely stop here again the next time we are in Spokane!

It is great! In house made food, nothing packaged, great service and reasonable. Highly recommend the platter if you have never had German food before. It’s a great way to taste everything and decide what you like best. Very satisfied with the mustards too.

First of all the food is great. I only have two complaints… The food takes forever to wait for. I have spent 2 – 3 hours to finally get out the door, secondly the place is in desperate need of a remodel. The German stuff is cool but it is dark in there they need to light it up more, like Nudo downtown is newer with big open windows, they should do this there. The food is great, drinks are great, just have patience.

The food was really good. The service was VERY friendly, although the kitchen was VERY slow… it took us almost an hour to get our food after we ordered. We would go back again, but we’d make sure we weren’t hungry when we walked in!

The food was edible and the service was prompt and courteous. The menu was odd with German, Italian, Mexican, and Hawaiian choices. I had the Kase Spaeztle which I found greasy. The sauce tasted like it was made from a powder. I also had the chicken schnitzel. The crust was nice, but the sauce also tasted like a powder mix. The fried potatoes were not edible. They were greasy and soggy. My husband had the combination plate. The spaetzle on his plate was nice and the sauce was less salty than the other sauces. The bratwurst was decent, but not any better than grocery store bratwurst. I don’t think I’ll return.

I was lucky to find this gem in Spokane. Delicious brats, and the nicest people. If I lived here, I’d be a regular.

What a find, this was! Thanks Unilocal! My husband and I came here to kick off our anniversary weekend celebration. Thanks to the wealth of information on Unilocal,we knew exactly what to expect. They had my husband’s favorite hard-to-find German beer on tap, which he was very excited about. I ordered the three bratwurst sampler with spaetzle and sauerkraut. I try to keep to a keto diet(low carb) but I wanted to try the spaetzle and sauerkraut and figured I could have a bite and not ruin my diet. The bratwursts were great! I also liked the little flags in them to identify which flavor they were(there was garlic, herb, and house style I think, but I can’t remember which flag was for which). The spaetzle was very good too– definitely like a dumpling/pasta with a delicious brown gravy on it. I didn’t care much for the sauerkraut though… clearly beer is a key ingrediant in making it and I’m not much of a beer fan(if you like beer, you’ll probably love it). My husband had a feast of three brats, a schnitzel, spaetzle, and sauerkraut. The brats, of course, were delicious, as was the spaetzle and schnitzel. My husband liked the sauerkraut, too. He was skeptical about using the lemon on the schnitzel(it was served on top), but once he tried it he loved it. Definitely use the lemon on the schnitzel. The service was fast and friendly. We had two people waiting on us– a younger gal, and a really sweet older lady that reminded me of my granny. I felt like the prices were quite reasonable. Both our dinners, a beer, and a soda came to $ 42 before tip. We can’t wait to come back!

We have been eating here since it was the Chic-A-Ria German Inn & Pub. We’ve always enjoyed their food and friendly staff. I really love the spaetzle and red cabbage. This visit I ordered the bratwurst combo which comes with garlic, herb, and house bratwurst. I really liked the herb version the best. It had the most flavor. I’ve tried the Hawaiian schnitzel on a previous visit but found it dense and dry. This visit, my mom ordered the tomato feta schnitzel and got the same experience. We talked to the waitress and found that the unbreaded schnitzels tend to be tough and she recommended the breaded. She even replaced my mom’s unbreaded one with a breaded at no cost and she really enjoyed it. We always make a special effort to visit Das Stein Haus when we are in town and I don’t see that changing any time soon.

I LOVED my meal!!! Can’t wait to come again one day! My 4 years old I was unsure if she was going to eat her meal, but she ate every last bite!(a sort of mac n cheese) We had the party room so I can’t comment on the«quietness»

This is the only German restuarant in town that I am aware of. They have several authentic German dishes along with American food if someone in your group isn’t feeling up for bratwurst, snitzel, or spatzel. They also have a decent tap list which includes multiple German beers. Nice staff, decent food at affordable prices, what’s not to like?

This place brings me back to Sunday dinners when I was a kid, having grown up living with my German grandmother. My favorite memories are of her and I in the kitchen. I can still see her hands as she kneaded bread dough, shaped noodles, pounded rouladen… All the aromas, sights and sounds come back to me when I walk into Das Stein Haus. I must admit, I haven’t given the whole menu a try. I always end up ordering my favorite, the ultimate in comfort food, kasespatzle: Pan fried housemade egg pasta topped with Swiss cheese, crispy prosciutto, and green onion. And my God, they do it right. I have a friend stationed in Germany right now that doesn’t understand the appeal of spaetzle because he’s only had it done wrong. I can’t wait to take him to Das Stein Haus. The service is friendly, the food is amazing, and even better for me… The memories are priceless.

Every time we are visiting the folks in Northern Idaho we have to make a pilgrimage over to Spokane to get German food. We have gone to the same place the last 15 years Das Stein House, this is a new name but it has the same great German food. Schnitzel, Spaetzle and Brats, that is what keeps us coming back. This time around I got the combo plate which included all the above. The Schnitzel was big, fresh, tender and tasty, I got three types of Brats, all very good and a heaping helping of that German pasta called Spaetzle smothered in gravy, yum. Along with the name change and refreshed décor another change is the addition of Hawaiian dishes to the menu. Not sure why the Hawaiian was added or if it should stay but there it was all the same. The wife tried the special, Hawaiian Schnitzel I believe she said it was OK but would not order it again, she was glad she had her German Spaetzle and sauerkraut.

Perfect. Quite simply perfect. I had a long day of work, and it was dark, and it was bad sleety weather, and it was rush hour, and I crept my way about 3 miles to Das Stein Haus and took refuge to wait out the rush hour traffic at least. There were two ladies that waited on me and they were both so friendly and gracious. The Jäger schnitzel and spaetzle were perfect. The beer was perfect, and the apple strudel was, you guessed it… perfect. I would dine here again in a heartbeat.
