Upon entering you feel like you’re in a Rob Zombie movie… like you’re going to be murdered… a disgusting restaurant that I wouldn’t ever go to again even if it was the last place standing after a nuclear holocaust! How do these disgusting restaurants in Spokane last so many years? Smh

Plain home like meals, good food. Waitress was very helpful. We will certainly return.

My favorite breakfast place in Spokane. Very consistent, good choice of combinations, good specials. Plenty of parking, plenty of seating, prompt service and a friendly staff.

Awww this diner is absolutely adorable! It looks like it would be in an episode of Full House. The waitress was incredibly personable! I got a turkey breast dinner that came with a salad, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, a roll, and cranberry sauce for $ 10. The food reminded me a Thanksgiving day at Grandma’s house. My boyfriend got chicken fried steak. I was confused because the meat didn’t look like steak, but we didn’t care because it was stupid delicious. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for good comfort food on a budget.

I have always liked this place. Not once have I had a bad meal. It’s definitely the service though, that keeps me coming back. Super friendly and willing to substitute items without a hassle.

Best chicken fried steak in town! More than enough to feed two people.

How was the food? No clue. We waited 10 minutes after being seated with zero service and left.

Food was good. They were busy our server had a huge section and was still on top of things.

This is the place where alcoholics go to dine alone after binging all day. The atmosphere here is «Unique 80’s». I always laugh when my friends from out of town suggest that we eat here…

Its exactly what you expect. Hometown people making an honest living making honest food. Good people. Sticky tables and menus. The eyes of the regulars are upon you as you walk through the doors… don’t let them bother you… They are human… Most of them!

Lived in Spokane 10 years and finally tried this place. It was exactly what I expected it to be. Good portions for a adequate price. The food was good and regardless of these other reviews my service was great super nice people. This is the definition of your grandfathers restaurant. From a Health nuts perspective it was a little greesy for me, Good coffee though, and they gave me plenty in a personal refiller so they never really had to come back and get more. Service was good very attentive, but it was rather slow when I went. Happy people ready to serve, but I might have just gone at the right time. Tried the omelete it was a big omelete and it was better than average for your normal American Diner. Overall I probably won’t make it a regular place I go, but I will definitely go back again.

This place is not trying to be anything other than what it is, a Greasy Spoon Diner. I mean come on. what gave it away? The stuffed deer outside paired with the wrap around booths didn’t hurt. You have your usual elderly diner folk, who are eating their dinner at 3−4pm, you have your family’s looking for something easy for the kids to eat and some crayons to keep them busy, you have your usual bunch of surly, yet somewhat pleasant, waitstaff, and you have the menu(nothing about ‘Frankie Doodles’ screams gourmet). I had the chill with corn bread while stopping through on my drive across the US. I had been in the car for almost a month now, and I was very happy to find this place. The chili was filled to the brim with meat and beans, which is just the way I like it, and the corn bread was soft and sweet. Overall, I was pretty happy with this place. Zero pretense. Zero BS. Zero upset.

I would like to give this place an «A» for effort. It is a great location with plenty of parking and it is convenient for breakfast meetings and such. Unfortunately, the coffee is terrible and the food is forgettable.

I’ve been to Frankie Doodle’s twice. In both instances the food was decent(their omelettes are huge) but the service was terrible. We waited for a long time though it wasn’t very busy. Both waitresses were distracted and unfriendly. On top of that, our booth during the second trip was sticky and messy. Needless to say, I haven’t returned. That was 3 years ago.

My last trip we went to Frankie Doodle’s for lunch while we waited for an oil change at Firestone down the street(best place to get an oil change IMHO, 26.99 for synthetic blend). I have been to Frankie’s a number of times and it is never anything all that great but not bad either. They’re pretty cheap and have a lot of variety so it is okay every once in a while. My favorite thing to get there is the Roast Beef special. It is a grilled roast beef sandwich with melted cheese and tomato. This time though I got a special of a 5oz sirloin and eggs with hasbrowns and toast. It was okay although the steak was tough and over cooked. Also seemed to be a bad cut. The rest was as expected.

For years I’ve driven through Spokane while traveling, and seen their sign from the freeway. For whatever reason this year we decided to stop and grab a bite instead of driving straight through. Little did I know that this venture off the freeway would be a trip back in time. 1st off Frankie Doodles is not much more then a typical coffee shop. The food like the client base isn’t pretentious and doesn’t try to be. The square building hearkens back to a different era and no doubt has seen better times. The interior follows suit complete with stuffed deer in the entry. There’s a counter that will comfortably seat a ½ dozen, and the booths are large and comfy. The prices aren’t cheap, but the old adage you get what you pay for is true. The menu is heavy on meat including a German sausage and kraut dish. The pancakes were large light and fluffy. The sausage patty was large and very good, tasting freshly made(in house maybe) with a hint of sage and pepper. The vegetable stir fry was plentiful, fresh and very light in flavor allowing you to taste the vegetables. To top it all off, the service was attentive and friendly, leaving us willing to come back anytime we happen to be passing through Spokane.

Oh dear, oh me. Why does my mother like to go here? I cringe everytime she mentions it. Dirty, greasy, smelly. Even some of the people that go in there are dirty, greasy, and smelly. Everytime we go I order something different, hoping to find something that won’t leave a bad after taste. That has not happened yet. I ordered the Meat Loaf dinner last time we went. Thinking, who could mess up that. Yep, you guessed it… A big chunk of hamburger? with nothing in it except a very small bit of onion. And tons of gravy on top. Cold chunky mashed potatoes, and wilted lettuce in the salad. Greasy, heavy, and boring. I told mom when we left– never again. Good bye Doodle bugs…

Bland greasy food served by people who act like they hate their job, because they do. They are supposed to have unlimited coffee refills, but I once went an hour and a half without anyone coming back with new coffee. The extra star is for the illuminated sign that always seems to have select letters burnt out that can be seen for entertainment value when driving by on I-90. «rank Doods,» «Fake oodle’s,» «Frandle’s,» etc. Every time I arrive in Spokane and see it’s still in business, I marvel. Go to Dick’s and get a burger, I beg of you!
