To say this place has amazing soup would be an understatement. I had the cheddar beer soup and it was perfect. It wasn’t greasy, or broken, and it had a great consistency and flavor. Which is very hard to do when cooking with cheese! As if life couldn’t get any better, the soups are served with a homemade slice of beer bread!!! There also was a nice affordable selection of beers and very quick, friendly service. We even made off with some original art! Definitely recommend to my fellow soup connesseurs.

This is one of my absolute favorite places in Spokane! I feel as if this place brings everything together — food, quality, and service. It is a rare gem. I am a regular for lunch(and would likely be more regular if I could afford it!). It not only offers a terrific selection of soup for all tastes and diets(so many vegetarian options, which I appreciate, and even vegans have a few choices), but the food is fresh, delicious, and the service is so friendly. Every time I visit, the employees are cheerful and easy to deal with — always with a smile. I really value strong service, and I can give enough props to the crew here. My usual is a soup and salad combo(I’ve only ever tried the tomato/cucumber because I am addicted, but I imagine the walnut/craisin is awesome too). And it always must come with the beer bread. This is the kind of homemade goodness that it next to impossible to find in a restaurant. I haven’t been back for cocktails, but the bar looks well stocked, and it’s on my list of after-work adventures some time soon! Do note that it is BUSY during lunch, so if you want a quieter lunch(or don’t want to do takeout), you should try to come earlier or later. For me, though, it’s totally worth waiting in line!

The idea of this place is awesome. Just the name alone makes me want to go there. However, I was not terribly impressed with any of the 3 soups that I ordered. The selection wasn’t exactly what I thought it was going to be and they were also not hot. Not completely cold, just lukewarm. I also ordered a salad and I must say it was delicious. They also really do have great drink options. I will most likely try this again and hope for hot soup!

Love this place. Soup is crazy good. I had moroccan lentil and there was several to choose from. $ 6 for a nice glass of wine. Amazing service and great music — nice atmosphere. Soulful soup hits the spot.

Great place for lunch. The soup was tasty, the salad average, but the bread made with moose drool beer was fantastic. It was more like a desert than a soup soaker. Service was extremely quick and friendly. I will return to this place one day.

Good variety of soups and their bread is to die for. They have trivia on Thursday night and they always have a bucket of beer special that night, and it is a very fun atmosphere, highly recommend this place.

This place is a true hidden gem. The concept is fantastic. Who doesn’t love soup and bread with a glass of wine? The beer cheese soup was by far one of the best things I’ve tasted in a very long time. The staff is also extremely friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to go back!

A nice little Spokane gem. Super fast and friendly service. The soups and salads are most excellent. I was there on a Monday evening and it was $ 7 special for soup+bread. I would certainly come back again for a light meal and drink

Great little place! I had been wanting to come here for months and finally got to. I was greeted with disappointment when they were all out of broccoli cheddar soup! I opted for next option which was spicy taco soup which turned out to be opposite of what I was expecting, I was thinking u know something like taco themed… Olives, avocados, cheese, crumbled ground beef taco flavored, etc but this one was more southwestern than anything. We also were there on a Tuesday which means tacos! Their tacos was very good and I loved the taco bar! Bottom line, I like the place, the idea behind it and I’ll be back, hopefully I’ll like the soup next time!

I dream about the beer bread. The Taco Tuesday deal is the steal of a lifetime and the chipotle mayo sauce is SOGOOD. Thursday trivia nights are also really fun, but call ahead to reserve a table for your friends.

I went here for an early dinner tonight with a few of my fellow Army buddies and it was a blast! Environment: Really cool, modern romantic jazzy feeling, small, in a good area, and very social. 4.8÷5 Food: I had the three soup sampler with a garden soup and it was GREAT. The flavors were slightly overwhelming, but it was because it was soulful and unique. The beer bread is an A++ and drinks were good. 4.5÷5 Price: I had the three soup, salad, and a beer that filled me up and spent only $ 14 plus tips. A good and affordable experience. 4.3÷5 Overall: The food was good, night was great, I had good company, great food, great service, this place deserves good marks. 4.65÷5 Well Above Average

I first encountered Soulful Soups because of a coworker’s recommendation. However, I have been back numerous times since. There are several fresh soup options every day, and the variety is wonderful. The last time I visited I had spicy mac and cheese soup, which sounds odd but was delicious and very filling. While the soup is a meal in itself, you have to try the beer bread. It is this wondrous combination of sweet and thick and… oh great, now my mouth is watering. Try the bread; you won’t regret it. One final detail: my wife and I went to a show that got out late, and we were a bit hungry. Soulful Soups was still open after 11pm, so we stopped in, shared a bowl and some bread, and left thoroughly satisfied. I think I read later that they are open until 1am. There are few quality options at that hour in Spokane. Please, enjoy this one.

I think I’ve died and gone to heaven. Delicious soups, fantastic beer bread, healthy salads, and all kinds of adult beverages. I zeroed in on the Anchor Porter today, which I don’t see all that often, and I love that beer. Good thing all I had to do today was catch a flight and find my hotel. Perfect lunch. The employees were very friendly and I really enjoyed the décor and the funky music. Keep it up. You’ve got a great thing goin’ on.

I am one of those weird people who craves soup all the time, literally morning, noon, and night. And apparently there are enough weirdos like me in Spokane to warrant an entire restaurant just for soup(and bread, and salads, and beer/wine/liquor), available all day. This place gets me. Not only is the whole business centered around an obsession with soup(there are 6 freshly-made types each day), but they stay open til 1am almost every night, so my late night soup jitters can be appeased by a bowl of succotash stew or tomato basil with a side of their famous beer bread: sweet, soft, and ideal for dunking. The side salads are haphazardly thrown together on your plate: she plops a handful of lettuce down, throws some feta & cranberries on top, and squeezes some raspberry dressing over that. But, you’re here for the soup anyway. It feels very much like a sports bar, but with better food. They are slammed for lunch, and the evening scene is just slightly quieter. I usually just take-out and have a little soup party of one in my hotel. I am so happy to see soup getting the love and attention it deserves! I support you Soulful Soups & Spirits(and all my fellow soup freaks out there).
