The wifi is fast! At *least* 80Mbps down and 20Mbps up, often much faster. I see reviews from a few years back saying it used to be really slow, but a great place to work from now. I usually end up working from Starbucks when I’m on the road since most other coffee shops have pretty poor wifi, but I’m always excited when I can find somewhere else to work from. Plenty of outlets around the edge of the room, and the food and coffee(normally what most people would mention first) are pretty good from what I’ve tried. The large, open room means it can be a bit noisy for background with people talking, but still not so loud I can’t make a few calls to coworkers as needed, and the rest of the time with my headphones on I can zone out everything and work.

I come here for the couch in front of the fireplace! When I need to study or do paperwork and sit quietly with my coffee or tea, this is the perfect spot!

Great place for a cup of coffee and friends. My girlfriends and I meet here for our lunch breaks and usually get croissants and blended chai teas.

Spokane, WA: Huge coffee shop! This has got to be Spokane’s largest coffee house! Walk in through the main doors and you’re greeted by leather couches, a fireplace in the corner to the right(not in operation when I visited) the service counter directly ahead, and a cavernous room: a soaring, exposed beam ceiling; a plethora of well-spaced, varied height tables and chairs; lots of windows equalling natural lighting; warm pendant lamps; a sense of cozy warmth, like coming home. My almond milk mocha was prepared just as ordered, not scalding hot. The Dominion Trading Coffee from Ethiopia was bold, rich, and not bitter. They use a handsome La Marzacco Italian espresso machine. If I heard correctly, the matching grinder has a built-in tamper. I was very disappointed that soup was sold out. Seems some large group had come through and beat me to it all. At least the Quinoa Salad was yummy. They normally offer soup with either salad or sandwich combos, along with a small selection of pastries. The packaged Protein Puck, at over $ 3 each, was the only gluten free pastry product available. There is an auditorium and several sizes of meeting rooms available for rent. As a matter of fact, the entire facility is available. As fellow Unilocaler Jeff R. mentions in his review, there are lots of power outlets throughout the dining area. A great find of a coffee spot, Jeff! Thanks for sharing. Plenty of parking in their lot in back. SNAPSHOTTHOUGHTS Very spacious dining area, and great work/reading spaces, but not quiet the time I was there, for cozy conversation across a table. Sound seems to bounce around the large room. The service station has always been a special place for me. When it first opened up, I was in middle school and one of my best friends actually went with me almost every morning since her aunt and uncle are the ones who own the place. Before I even knew her, my mom and I would go to seek the incredibly warm and welcoming atmosphere it provides. Nothing feels better than sitting by that fireplace with a nice book and a warm mocha. I live in Seattle now but I always make a point to stop on in for a raspberry peppermint Italian soda and a tomato Asiago bagel whenever I’m in town. I’ll never forget the joy this place has continued to bring me throughout my growing years and all the memories I’ve had at the concerts and services they hold in the back. Hands down, best place to relax in Spokane.

My wife and I like to come here not only for the very good coffee drinks but also for the comfy home feeling you get while visiting. I generally get a hot vanilla latte and I have never been disappointed. Until I found Indaba this was my favorite coffee in town. coming in second behind Indaba is not bad though. The Service Station also has some of the most comfortable chairs in town and a lot of them. Almost all of the seating has nearby power outlets that can be used while enjoying their free wifi. During the winter you can grab a chair by the large fireplace. This is a great place to get some work done while enjoying a very good coffee.

Music is always too loud. The coffee is overpriced and there is not a large food selection.

I really like the physical space and I like the coffee drinks too, especially the iced dirty horchata. That said, the part of the Service Station experience that I dislike is the wifi. As an IT executive who has built networks for clients all over the US, this is without a doubt the worst coffee shop wifi I’ve ever experienced. Typical upstream and downstream bandwidth is around .2 Mbps with over 50% packet loss. This makes the wifi virtually unusable for all but light web browsing(assuming you have a lot of patience).

Lovely Sunday morning surprise when we came inside this large but warm shop. Spacious, sense of privacy, people relaxed and in conversation. Coffee was good! I added an extra shot to my Americano after ordering, and the barista handled the change-up with grace and a smile. Strong but nuanced espresso. Can’t say much about the food, only had a bagel and that was standard stuff. Great space, good coffee, very good service.

Go here for atmosphere, coffee… not the internet. Very slow. I moved around a few tables hoping to get better service. The signal was strong but slow. Also my bagel had a stale taste to it. Don’t know if it was just my taste buds. Looked fresh and texture was fresh. Frustrating internet.

The space rules, it’s really easy to get some work done here. The coffee is good, but the food is just ok. Nothing to write home about. Prices are decent as well. OH, they also have beer! So when you’re tired of drinking coffee, you can switch to beer and get your day really started.

I am always the most productive whenever I’m here. They have delicious tea and coffee selections — wide open seating arrangements so you can either lounge in the center or hide away in a corner and study! Love this place!

This is one of my favorite places to go and relax once a week, however it can be really hit or miss depending on which day of the week you go there and which barista you get. The prices are reasonable, the items out of the deli counter have never disappointed, and the coffee is on par with most places in town. I really like how open the place is and the vibe most of the patrons put out there. It can get a little noisy and the wifi gets slowed down when the place gets crowded. For the most part this place is pretty reliable and it’s much better than a Starbucks.

This used to be an excellent place for coffee and used to have a very tranquil environment. A lot has changed over the years however. I am aware there was some sort of scandal that occurred a few years ago and as a result most of the staff has changed. Being a person with a very strict customer service background, i have to ask, what supervision is your staff actually getting? and what is your hiring process? Clearly there are no standards for customer service at this location and I will not revisit ever. Your customer is your business and when you make fun of your customer behind their back in a careless manner to where they can hear you doing so, you have lost all professionalism and respect. I will be happy to visit anywhere else because I have never seen customer service standards so low in my life.

Can’t miss with their mochas or london fogs. Sooo good! I like the seating, but do not sit very often. My daughters high school recently held prom here(they do meetings, parties and concerts). The kids raved about the place. They danced, had a great spot to sit and visit, and the service station offered food and drink discounts to the kids.

This used to be one of my very favorite places in Spokane to go get a coffee and hang out and chat with my girlfriends. A year ago, I would have given it five stars, if not more if they allowed. However, much to my disappointment, I visited here with a friend two days ago and was very disappointed in the service. Having been a server for 10+ years myself, I realize how valuable customer service is in this day and age. The girls who worked here in the past used to be so friendly and personable, and even would remember faces and names. Has the ownership changed? I’m just beginning to wonder, because my experience the past couple times I’ve been here recently has been so drastically different(in a bad way) than it used to be. Even though my coffee was still delicious, the attitude of the girl taking our order completely ruined my experience. There was not even a smile for a hello. She couldn’t seem to wait to get our order out-of-the-way and get back to whatever she had been doing before. When I asked for my bagel toasted, you would have thought the world was coming to an end according to how her face looked. This completely saddens me because I have sent many people here in the past, now I am not so sure I would recommend going here again. Please do something to change this, you used to have an amazing establishment!

Something has changed since we visited from out of state last year.. The place was empty and the 2 girls working didn’t seem to like their job much. The vibe is not as friendly as it was a year ago. I’m sad about it. What happened?

So there was a big scandal and new ownership came in. They took away the supplier of the seven layer bar and I’m devastated. Have not returned since.

I go here any time I need to hammer away at studying for an extended amount of time mostly because the employees don’t look at me weird for being there for 6hrs. They also have many wall plug-ins for laptop use. I have never been unable to find one even when they were crowded. It’s not always a quiet venue so if you can’t handle the noise I don’t recommend it. People come to study like me, play cards, have bible studies, or just hang out, so it can get loud with larger groups around. Not to mention that they have concerts here on occasion, so I recommend checking their online calendar before you come for studying. It will be impossible with the bass music to focus, trust me, I’ve tried. Now for the food and coffeee… Their lattes are good, not bad, but not the best I’ve had either. Their prices are just like Sbux, though in my opinion their food and coffee are sub par to them. However, since my primary reason for going to coffee shops is to study, this is my top choice. Coffee and food are much lower on the priority list for me.
