Pretty bad when you first enter the door you almost slip and bust your butt! I did exactly that because they either used the same mop that mopped up 50 gallons of grease or they wanted to have some«entertainment» from the constant bad reviews they get. Not sure how a place like this stays in business… oh yeah, they’re a CHAIN restaurant which means the more shops they open, the more their quality goes down hill. The prepare guy saw my slip as I had to hold on to the door to prevent me totally making a fool out of myself and I informed him it’s like grease over there. He never went over there and just looked at me like I was stoned or something. Oh yeah, and the food sucks! Never going back there.

Not happy. Spent $ 50.00 on bbq and they were out of baked potatoes. That’s part of the dinner menu. Don’t have them, close the doors. It’s not like they are hard to make. Won’t go back again.

I tried Dickey’s for the first time tonight and overall, thought it was pretty good! I was happy they were still opened since it’s New Years Eve. I got the 3 meat plate(polish sausage, brisket, and pulled pork) and some sides. Although i really liked it, I’m giving 4 out of 5 stars because the pulled pork was pretty dry. But overall, I liked what i ordered and they were really quick to get my food.

WTF happened!!! For about a year and a half I have gone here about twice a month to order a pound of brisket and a pound of chicken. Perfect for weekend meals when I didn’t want to cook. They were both perfect every time! Juicy and the smoked taste was so delicious that I rarely even used the barbeque sauce. That was then! Now to the recent past and present. What happened?!? The last 3 times I have gotten my meats they are barely edible! The brisket and chicken are so dry you need to soak it in water before eating it or a family member may need to call an ambulance to remove the chunk of meat stuck in your throat. I’m being serious that this is kind of unsafe for children and pets to eat because it is a choking hazard. Did I mention the taste is completely gone? I am 100% convinced they now overcook the meats in an oven and not a smoker. There is zero taste of the once delicious smoked flavor that needed no BBQ sauce. Let’s not forget to mention they have raised the prices in the last six months $ 3 per pound. Let me get this right, they raised prices and in return I get poorer quality of meat overcooked in an oven with no taste?!? There are 2 employees that have been there for a while that are really nice while the rest hang out in the back talking and popping out now and then not to help but to fill up their sodas. I never appreciated that the boxes they put the meat in were covered in meat juice and I always had to wipe the containers down when I got home, but it is BBQ. They did finally start a rewards program. I spent about $ 40 per visit and after every 4th or 5th visit I could get a free soda. I never used it because I figured they needed the money more than I needed a free drink. Bottom line, I will never go back to this location again! I may try a different location but I’m feeling this is the new quality for all locations. Dear Dickey’s, You are located in Texas, land of the BBQ and surrounded by 100’s of competing restaurants. There are new places to eat popping up all the time and places to eat closing their doors, even good restaurants struggle to survive the competition. If you don’t change, I’m afraid in 6 months you may be another statistic and I will have a new place to eat to try out.

They used to be good 3 years ago but I stopped eating there because they use very low quality beef with way too much fat. However, their mashed potatoes are really good. I don’t go there anymore because of the low quality meat.

The lady that does the register is very nice and always remembers me when I come in – I like that. My problem with the place is the teenager that prepares the food. I ordered chopped beef baked potatoes. The potatoes themselves were hard. The beef was a half and half mix of beef and fat. I literally couldn’t believe how much fat was in the potato. The meal«preparer» should know how to properly prepare a BBQ baked potato. I know the restaurant needs to make a profit, but they shouldn’t bank off selling you this much fat. It literally was gross! It’s my fault for cutting corners — I should have made the drive to Rudy’s. One star for the experience, an extra star for the nice lady at the register — the food and/or food preparer needs some serious work.

Horribly trained staff. Couldn’t get an online order right if their life depended on it. Have ordered on multiple occasions, stupid me. Always have an excuse that they are out of something and they never check the order they hand you. Steer clear of this one.

I asked specifically before buying if they had moist brisquet, meaning not very lean. «Sure», the guy said. It looked very lean, I should had said mo, but he was already cutting it. I arrived home and had to eat it with lots of water to be able to swallow it. Later I added Olive Oil to try to help. I didn’t like it.

Catering food portions were insufficient at this location. I had 5 people not show up for a luncheon catered by Dickey’s and still did not have enough food for the remaining people that did show up. When I complained they said that’s their normal food portions. Very disappointed. Will never use their catering again.

The best barbecue on the north east side of Houston. Real smoked meat and great sides !

Really horrible take out experience. Ordered 2 baked potatoes. People behind the counter had no idea what was supposed to go on the potatoes. They didn’t even know it was supposed to come with BBQ sauce. At least one of them apologized for it being her 2nd day. Cashier was arrogant and rude. Got mad and said«I’m just a cashier!!!» twice when we tried to get what was supposed to be on our potatoes. He threw the credit card back at us. When we asked for BBQ sauce a girl said she could give us a container to fill it up ourselves. Save your money and go to Rudy’s. We should have learned our lesson last time when they were out of baked potatoes.

Dickey’s Barbecue, i honestly can’t even explain how amazing this place is. The BBQ is highly incredible and i have no complaints what so ever. And they have the best pecan pie its too die for. I wish i got the name of the guy who is there every time i go there he is funny and knows his BBQ and makes your experience that much better. I would say best BBQ in spring for me. I can’t believe i see all these not so good reviews on here highly surprising.

All the food I’ve had here has been very good. The staff is great and very helpful. The prices are pretty mainstream, and they will go out of there way to make what you want.(Think: a vegetarian in a bbq place.) There desserts look good, but I’m always stuffed before I get to that.

Our family frequents this Dickey’s about once a week. The food is delicious! The service is 2nd to none– the owner Ms. Becky will usually bus your table if you are sitting and chatting after you eat. They support the Military– which warms my heart! AND they offer kids meals free per adult meal on Sundays! Love having BBQ after church: D They catered my 30th birthday and everyone raved about the food! The Mac N Cheese was gone in minutes! I just wish they didn’t have TVs b/c my boys watch the sports on the TVs and forget to eat.

We won’t go back here! Tell you why overpriced and little bit of food. I watched them slice the meat and put it on the plate and I’m little and I’m thinking really ! I can’t imagine how a big guy feels.

When you go through the line and order, they weigh the meat for your serving. I watched as the server cut the brisket, including the fat, and placed it on the scale. Needed more so he cut some more fat and put in on the scale. They are charging premium prices for these portions and I will not come back. I gave 2 stars because the brisket was tasty and I also got ribs and they were pretty good. I don’t mind paying for good ‘q, but don’t round out my order with more fat, please.

Something is horribly wrong with the water at this Dickeys location on Louetta Road. The chlorine taste in the water is so strong that we even found the soda from the machine(which of course contains tap water) to be undrinkable because the chlorine taste was so overpowering. We weren’t impressed with the food either. Will not return. If you do eat there, at least bring your own beverage.

Dickey’s is one of our favorite BBQ joints and for good reason. The food is great! My personal favorite is the brisket WITH the crust still on and the chicken, very tender and juicy. The ribs and sausage are also good. The turkey was dry and I probably wouldn’t order it again. Their mac-and-cheese is excellent when it’s fresh and the baked potato salad was interesting to say the least. The rest of the sides are standard fare without anything good or bad to say. Everyone is friendly and service has been quick when we’ve been there. 5-stars — brisket and chicken 4-stars — ribs and sausage 2-stars — turkey 3-stars — sides overall 4-stars — service

Safe and bland. Friendly people, but flavorless meat. I was definitely glad they had a «spicy» sauce to jazz up my BBQ sandwich. With as mild as the spicy sauce was, I think the regular BBQ sauce was probably ketchup. Decent sides to cover up for the merely pedestrian meat. All in all, a meh, safe option when you don’t know the better BBQ options in the area.

BBQ at this place stands for Boring, Bland, and Qurious. Sliced brisket served from the chubby side, cold and lacking any smoke flavor. Sausage mediocre. Ribs served cold and not tender enough. Side dishes at BBQ joints are often an afterthought. It’s worse at Dicky’s. I wish I hadn’t experienced their potato salad. Horrible. I had to go home and make my own to wash that memory out of my mind. Baked beans very average. Their BBQ sauce is okay. It took a lot to compensate for the flavorless meats. The folks running the place are nice enough for sure, but boy o boy the BBQ was just bad. I would hate to see an out of towner experience Texas BBQ for the first time at Dicky’s. That would break my heart.
