We(4 in the party) came in at about 6:30 on Saturday — not very crowded — and were seated immediately. We noticed that as the evening went by, it got a bit more crowded, but not a line… Our service — quick and courteous. Our waiter was knowledgeable and patient — it was a dinner out with close friends and we were allowed to take our time without feeling rushed. I had one of the specials — ravioli stuffed with lobster and other sea food — excellent! And the live music(piano) was not intrusive — as the service was not intrusive. Good range of prices — all very reasonable.

It was me and my boyfriend’s first time dining here. I read a couple of reviews and whittled our choices down to here. I was not disappointed in any way whatsoever. We started with mozzarella sticks(we are simple haha) and were given a basket of fresh breadsticks(made in house and lightly brushed with garlic butter and sprinkled with parmesan cheese, all piping hot too I might add!), shared a salad, and for our entrees, my boyfriend had the Chicken Alfredo and I had the Chicken Parmesan. My dish looked and tasted amazing, as did his, but this Parmesan really had us both staring at it in mouth watering disbelief. It was SO much better than any place is ever been, and only for $ 11?! GETOUT. We will definitely be back. We are so very eager to try the deserts that we unfortunately had no room for. Solid 10⁄10 for the amazing food and our waiter’s perfect service. Our waiter never missed a beat and was perfectly on time without ever interrupting the flow of our meal. Our drinks never emptied because even when our waiter couldn’t make it to our table, the rest of the staff in the restaurant was so well trained, polite, and attentive that when another waiter arrived for his shift,(he didn’t even have his apron on yet and had just walked through the door!), he walked straight to our table, seeing that my boyfriend was about to finish his coke, and politely offered to fill it before he even clocked in to work. THATISEXCELLENTSERVICE!!! I only wish even 10 restaurants in Houston were even partially as attentive as this staff was/is!

We came in at about 4:30PM on Saturday and were the only guests at the time. The gentleman that seated us also took our drink order. A few minutes later, our server came to the table and asked if we wanted any drinks. My wife said that the other gentleman already took our drink order. The server proceeded to make a disparaging remark to the effect that we’d never get those drinks. Needless to say, the first gentleman did bring our drinks just moments after. That was just the beginning of the«odd» service we received the entire time. It wasn’t that he was inattentive or incompetent, he just kept making remarks that you wouldn’t expect. Now, the food was decent. Not horrible but far from the best we’ve had. Our appetizer of Gamberi Griglia(shrimp in butter with garlic and lemon) was okay. The shrimp was slightly over cooked and there was a lot of «dark» residue(looked like something had been burned on the grill and scraped into it) in the olive oil that made it look unappetizing. The garlic bread we also ordered as an appetizer was good. When I attempted to pronounce my entrée, the server gave a bit of a smirk. My wife said something about us butchering the names and he said, «Don’t worry, they misspelled it… The word on the menu doesn’t exist and you’d never be able to pronounce the correct spelling any way»… The dish I ordered was fettuccine with olive oil, garlic, and basil with sausage. The sausage was very good but the fettuccine was not very flavorful and was served with too much olive oil. My wife ordered Chicken Parmigiana and the server said they had a special«trio» dinner that included the parmigiana, fettuccine Alfredo and lasagna. The parmigiana was okay… Slightly over cooked. The Alfredo was bland and the lasagna had good flavor but the sauce was very thin. The meals were decently priced(my fettuccine w/sausage was $ 12 and my wife’s trio was $ 15) but somewhat disappointing. When the server brought the dessert tray out, I’d never seen a worse display. They may have been the most awesome tasting but it would’ve been hard to justify ordering them the way they looked. Overall, not the worst I’ve been to but I’m not sure if we’ll be making a return trip.

This place is LEGIT Italian food! Very high quality, great menu items. What a gem in an unlikely location. Do yourself a favor and try it out!

One of the best steaks I ever remember having; moist and incredibly tender. The shrimp were terrific as the surf. My husband’s snapper was wiped off his plate good. We’ve tried various seafood restaurants in the area but find a better, fresher meal here. Serve was good, the wait staff have all the specials memorized and it’s extensive. We’ve never had a bad experience and we’ve enjoyed this location and the previous.

Tried this little gem for the 1st time tonight. Very pleasant atmosphere and our waiter was excellent. I had the veal osso bucco and it was perfect. My husband had the chicken cordon bleu and enjoyed it. For dessert, I had spumoni ice cream, which I haven’t had in many years and my husband had bread pudding with a Fra Angelica sauce. Certainly will be back again.

Not sure how this place is getting such high stars. Was seated at 5:30 and the place was empty on a Tuesday. Décor is ok, nicely decorated. Waiter wasnt horrible but lacked any enthusiasm or flair. I ordered a corona with a lime– lime was a bit on the old/brown side. Husband ordered Kendall Jackson Chardonnay, they didnt have any chilled so instead of asking if he would like something else, they poured him a house chardonnay. The bread… really guys? Tasted like a buttermilk biscuit!!! Italian restaurant = good warm crusty bread & perhaps some herbed dipping oil… end of story. The house salad consisted of chunks of green peppers, celery, tomatoes, iceberg lettuce… meh. I ordered Tonya’s chicken… chicken with mushrooms and artichoke hearts in white wine sauce– as bland and lifeless as it gets. Was a paper thin cutlet drowning in brown watery sauce. Come on guys– no pride in this dish. Comes with a side of fettucine alfredo, meh again. Husband ordered giovani ripieni, chicken stuffed with blue cheese and aparagus, topped with mushrooms and marsala wine sauce– he said he wished it had more cheese and was very bland as well– another big meh. Place really could have potential… perhaps revamp the menu, less items-higher quality, new chef that really loves to cook? Sadly we wont be back.

Great ambiance with the piano and deco. The waiter was excellent with suggestions on both food and drinks. Food was fabulous and will go back.

We are new to the neighborhood and were looking for a good Italian place to frequent. This is it! I had the chicken parm and it was delicious! The chicken was juicy on the inside and had a great sauce. The lobster bisque was amazing and for $ 5 for a cup it was such a great bargain! I am looking forward to going back and trying more of the dishes on their extensive menu. Carlos was our server and he was so eager to please and did such a great job. My husband had special requests and he made them all happen. Service by all was outstanding! The bread left much to be desired(it was served with little packets of butter) but when my husband requested olive oil they made a point to oblige. The live music made this place seem like a fine dining establishment but the prices were excellent, portions very large and service very welcoming.

I am here right now for a friend’s daughter’s piano recital. We ordered rigatoni fresco, lasagna and pasta vongole. Every dish was so bad that after 2 bites we had the waitress take the dishes away. Everything was sour and tasted terrible!!! Honestly save your money and just make Ragu from a jar at home. Also I just recovered from a 12 hour bout of diarrhea from eating at another restaurant. I am now that the porcelain gods will be kind to my tummy!!!

We have enjoyed Raoul’s for years. This restaurant was opened by his sons when Raoul’s closed. Same menu. It has been nearly a year since we were there, because we moved and it is much farther away now. It was well worth the 25 minute drive. We were greeted like we had been there the week before. Our waiter, David, also greeted us as did the piano player. We were at home. David remembered our drink preferences and offered those. Our meals were brought promptly. The bisque was great, and my steak Fileto Al Cognac(au poivre) was large and cooked perfectly medium rare. The Coouillo St Jacoues was excellent. I was disappointed to see so many patrons in shorts on a Saturday night, as I think the restaurant is of a quality that deserves more respect. Give it a try and ask for David.

So I’m part of a neighborhood social networking group called NextDoor, and several people posted how great Fratellini is so we decided to spend our Friday dinner here recently. Very pleasant as you walk in with a piano player greeting with sounds of the oldies. We were seated right away and the place was starting to get packed so we thought we scored with coming here. Unfortunately, we should have stuck with going to our usual Italian restaurant haunt. They brought us bread which was warm but lacked any flavor although each piece was basked in melted butter and light salt. My better half’s order came with a salad so I chose a Caesar salad which did not have the dressing I am accustomed to getting at other places. There was no creamy consistency to it and it, too, lacked flavor. For an appetizer he ordered the Escargot which was disappointing as well. The description called for a garlic sauce to come with it, and we could hardly taste any garlic at all. For our entrees I ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara, and he ordered the Seafood Diablo but with alfredo sauce. Both came out and mine turned out good; however, his was very lackluster. Whenever we go out to eat he NEVER puts salt and pepper to add flavor, but this night was an exception. I was totally surprised when he did! The alfredo sauce also lacked a richness to it — it was very watery. Poor guy — he mustered through it. Bland is how I would describe our experience.

Great menu. Not a dive, but not overly fancy. The food is really great. It reminds me of a restaurant called Raoul’s that closed recently. It was one of those places that was a «find», because it was better than expected.

Service was great and made it clear that I could basically order whatever I wanted. I just needed to ask! The staff kept my drink full and table cleared. The food was quick, hot and very flavorful. Wonderful place and I will be back. I loved that the food had flavor and it did not all taste like garlic. — nice to see other favors used. The chocolate mouse cake was to die for! My mouth is still watering. The guitarist playing was good and not overpowering so you could still have a conversation.

Our server was smug and impersonal, you could tell he hated his job. Unlike the other servers on staff he never greeted us, thanked us or did anything beyond taking our order, he even brought us the wrong check. The food wasn’t bad, just mediocre. I did love the capreze salad however. Also the hired guitar player was good and added a much needed distraction to the experience.

Went here because there wasn’t alot of choices in Italian food around. I don’t see how this is a 4 star reviewed restaurant. The bread was ok. Portobello mushroom au gratin was bland. We ordered the spaghetti carbanara and fettuccine, and that was tasteless. Can I say bland again??? Not worth the trip or money. Now I have to go to my favorite Italian spot just to for redemption

My husband and I were looking for a casual Italian restaurant. We were very disappointed by this place. The bread wasn’t great and the butter was pre-packaged. We started with the Mozzarella sticks which are a fave with the kiddos. The cheese was not melty at all… obviously not cooked the correct way. My kids wouldn’t even finish them and they are usually fighting over the last one! On the recommendation from the waitress I ordered the crab and lobster bisque(a fave of mine). It was very thin and there was one measly piece of lobster… oh and that one piece was cold. It was apparent it had been microwaved and definitely not long enough. The entrees were just as bad. None of us finished them and we didn’t take it to go! Final bill for casual dining was well over $ 100! Needless to say we won’t be back!

This place is not worth your time or money. My husband and I came in on a Friday night and the experience was lackluster at best. The bread was okay. No big flavor but warm. The salads were DROWNING in dressing, to the point they were almost inedible. We didn’t even eat half of them, and my house salad was chopped up iceberg, bleh. The lasagna was mediocre(way more meat than pasta), as was the chicken Parmesan. We skipped dessert because Virginia’s Cakes is next door and is notoriously delicious. After the iffy meal and bad salads, we weren’t going to roll the dice on dessert.

Today I went by for lunch after church. When I walked in at noon the place was empty. I was immediately seated and waited on. After hearing the specials and this being my first time I decided to stick to the basics so I ordered the lunch lasagna that came with a side salad and bread. I also ordered tea. My waiter told me that the lunch lasagna($ 8) and dinner lasagna(10) were the same size portion. First the salad came out. See picture. It was good and decently sized with ranch dressing. I would give it a solid 3. Then the lasagna came out. See picture. I thought it was good also and would rate it at a 3.5. The red sauce was a little more on the tart side for me but I don’t subtract points for that because some people like that. I am giving an overall 4 because my table service was very good and I believe this is a 4 restaurant. It has your traditional Italian restaurant music playing in the background with Frank and Dean being just a couple of the recognizable artists performing. During the meal several more groups of people arrived and that added to the ambience if the restaurant. The restaurant has one large dining room and then another slightly smaller that could be used for parties. The total cost with tea and tax was $ 11.37 which was also a good value. It was a good meal. I recommend!
