This is my favorite Spring bar! Love the staff, Amber is the best bartender! Full of cool regulars who are always up for trash talking during any game on the tv! It can be a little too smokey sometimes, but that’s what you have to deal with when you’re outside of the city limits.

This is a great neighborhood bar! They serve a limited food selection but go for the friendly staff and great regulars! The only downside is the smoke — if you can get past that you will enjoy your time here in a non confrontational environment full of colorful characters! Darts/shuffleboard but no pool!

Janie’s is an awesome place to hang out! Everyone who works there is top notch. Service is impeccable, prices are reasonable, and their crawfish on Thursday is the best I’ve had all season — some of the best I’ve ever had! This place is fantastic! My husband and I have gone there for years and I’ve never had a bad experience.

After reading the review about this bar being racist, I just knew I had to come here. Being a racist myself It was severely disappointing when I walked in and it looked like a normal bar. Most people who are racist would expect to see a 10 foot oil painting of Hitler riding a white stallion, with lightning bolts in each of his hands on Mt. Olympus. Sadly this was not the case. As I ventured to the bar I looked around and all hope was not lost. There was a Native American man sitting at a table drinking firewater and smoking tabacky! This seemed odd seeing as how this place is a racist bar and then it dawned on me. They let him drink here because we all know they are great trackers when they put their ear to the ground. So someone walks a tab, BAM that person can be found by this Native American! As I approached the bar I saw a Hispanic man sitting there and it was clearly obvious that he was the busser. Only there to clean up after the numerous Anti-Semite rallies held at this particular location. Finally as I was sitting at the bar after about 45 seconds I was greeted by a bald headed gentleman. BOOM! This was my guy, obviously because he was bald, so he was a skin head but just dressed the part of a regular bartender to fool all other races beneath us! BRILLIANT! As he brought me my drink, a black gentleman across the bar let out a huge OO-RAH(marine core battle cry). Upon ease dropping on the conversation I found out he served for 30 years. Did 3 tours in Operation Desert Storm and then another 4 in Iraq Freedom. Naturally I was appalled at this. What kind of racist bar lets in a black marine who was willing to give up his life for our country!!! That was the last straw! I stood up shouted«Sieg Heil», and marched out the door. Now as you hopefully know I was being facetious. This bar is a great place. The women are beautiful, the patrons are nice, the owner is very friendly, and the drinks are reasonably priced. So for the woman who was offended and said racism lives at this bar I have 2 things to say 1. You must think every grocery store or place around that serves alcohol is racist because THEYALLCARDIFYOULOOKUNDERTHEAGEOF40! 2. This is the big one here. ITISAGAINSTTHELAWINTHESTATEOFTEXASTOBEDRINKINGIN A BARWITHOUT A VALID I.D.!! So for you being offended for being carded, stop being ignorant. Janie’s is a neighborhood bar and if it was your first time there then the staff carding you is EXACTLYWHATTHEYSHOULDHAVEDONE. Regardless of your race they still would have carded you. It happened to me 8 years ago there and I’m sure they card probably 100 new people every night. So grow up lady!

It’s sad racism is still alive in America I recently walked in this place obviously an African American woman just wanting to get some crawfish because I heard they were pretty good from some local people in the area at another bar… but the dude rudely asked me was I 21 first off I’m sure he didn’t ask anyone that walked in Caucasian that but that’s fine because I just walked out and took my black money somewhere else.
