I was in the area to meet up with a friend. I told him I didn’t want to eat at a chain restaurant which is all this area seems to have. He suggested Maggie’s and I was happy with my meal. I got 2 fajita tacos and one barbacoa taco, all with cilantro and onions. The green salsa they serve with their tacos is very good. To me, it was not as spicy as other reviewers have stated, but maybe I can just handle my heat better than these Unilocalers. I also tried elote en vaso(corn in a cup) which comes with sour cream, parmesan cheese and Valentina hot sauce and it was pretty good, though I really wanted elote asado(grilled corn on the cob) instead, but they were out. I also tried the horchata, and it was OK. A little too rice-tasting and not enough cinnamon. The staff was friendly and spoke English, and they didn’t try to overcharge us. They only accept cash, though. They get 3 stars as opposed to 4 because when we went at noon on a beautiful Saturday they were out of many things such as the pollo(chicken), asado(pork) and elote asado(grilled corn). Also, it took a good 20 minutes for us to get our food, which is slower than to be expected from a taco truck.

Wake up at Maggie’s, she’s got something to feed you. She handed me 2 barbacoa breakfast tacos, I handed her four bucks all seemed right in the world. Green salsa so hot it gave me the hiccups. Then again so does Faith Hill. This Gringo was served with kindness. Wonderfully warm and soft corn tortillas. A menu chock full of classic Taqueria food. I’ll stop in again for sure.

Are these guys racists? I ordered two tacos($ 1.50 ea.), and not only were they out of just about everything, but then she tries to charge me a «sales tax» of $ 1.85! That’s a 61.8% sales tax! When I told her the math was wrong she said, «that’s the way it is.» So I go into the gas station and I’m grumbling about it to the cashier, who speaks Spanish. She says that’s never happened to her, when she eats there. Go figure.

Right here in the gas station parking lot is Mexican street food awesomeness. Just order the beef fajitas on corn with onions and cilantro and nothing else. Red sauce was great. I wish there was one parked across the street from my house.

This taco stand is located in the Mobil gas station parking lot. Although it is a stand, there is a clean seating area with covered tables and benches for sitting. On a good day, it would be nice to grab snacks and head over to either Collins Park(Cypresswood Park) or Meyer Park. I ordered one beef fajita taco and one chicken taco on corn tortillas. They come out wrapped in two corn tortillas, served with optional lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, cheese, and a spicy green salsa. The quality of the meat was good, tender and not overcooked. I wish there was a little more seasoning or grill flavor to the meat. Next time, I think I will ask for just the meat, cheese, pico/onion/cilantro, and green salsa. Somehow, when you add lettuce and tomatoes to a taco, it feels less taco stand and more Taco Bell. Although I only started with tacos, the menu is pretty extensive, especially for a food stand. They have tacos($ 1.50), quesadillas($ 3.50, $ 6.99), gorditos($ 2.50), tortas, breakfast tacos($ 1.00), elote en vaso(corn in a cup), hamburgers, cold and hot drinks(horchata, tamarind, melon juice, too!), menudo on the weekends, burritos($ 4.99), flan($ 3.00), and much more! ***This is cash only!!!
