Big Lots

The customer service at this location is hand down the best I have ever seen. The cashier melissa knows customers names and something about them. The furniture guy Anthony is the most helpful salesman I ever met. And Scott the assistant manager will bend over backwards to please a customer. I am truly wowed, can’t say enough.

I am a major fan of Big Lots and shop at about five different locations regularly. This particular store is my favorite. They consistently have great stock, good prices, and staff that is capable and efficient. I have purchased furniture at Big Lots on several occasions over the past 8 years and it has proven well worth the prices I paid. More and more «high end» furniture stores have begun to sell modern, inexpensive furniture that is made of synthetic materials, pressed wood, etc. So why not get the exact same quality items for much less at Big Lots? There are bargains and unique items to be found in the grocery, home, and hardware sections. We even buy our toilet paper and IAMS dog food there for less than any other store. They have a frequent shopper card (usable at any Big Lots store) which has saved me hundreds of dollars. You have them scan it each time you spend $ 20 or more, and after 10 purchases you get 20% off a future purchase. It doesn’t sound like a lot, but if you redeem that while buying a furniture item or Christmas presents, it really adds up quickly (40 bucks off your $ 200 purchase anyone?)

I love Big Lots (see other reviews). You do have to be careful to ensure you are actually getting a good buy. Their home furnishings (pictures, wire art work, candles) have improved significantly over the years.
I check out Big Lots everywhere I go. Big Lots’ motto is the «Closeout Store». The merchandise does vary from location to location. Since, there are two in Springfield, I recommend checking out both stores since they likely have different stock. Today, they had some really nice Paula Deen and Rachel Ray cookware and some beautiful pictures.
This particular Big Lots seems to have a wide variety of furniture. I was informed today, Big Lots no longer assembles its furniture.
