I don’t like having to order over medium to get over easy but… The food was great and eggs were perfectly over easy… Err medium… Choose over Silver Diner!

Got the pancake, egg, and sausage special for breakfast. The pancakes were very good! This place is a nice change of pace if you are sick of ihop or other chain places in Springfield. The interior gives you the feel of an old mom and pop store and the waiter was very nice and helped us out with everything we needed. My wife and I will be coming back to try out more of the menu!

We came yesterday for a late lunch. I had the BBQ sandwich which was huge and delicious. My hubby had the B&E burger which was gigantic and yummy, too. We’re back today for breakfast, which they serve 24⁄7. Glad to see the satellite in Springfield is just as great as the original in Arlington! Today the ham and cheese omelette was yummy and the 2×2×2 was great as well(2 hotcakes, 2 eggs any style, and 2 strips bacon.) The prices are reasonable and the team style servers are very attentive. Be forewarned, they are super busy weekend mornings, but it’s totally worth it and they offer excellent service even when they are crazy busy.

I love Bob & Ediths! I have only been coming for breakfast and so far so good! Every server we had has been so nice and everyone is so welcoming. The food comes out quick. The only thing I think they should consider is having a host at the front. It is a first come first serve seating and it gets awkward when they just call for the next one in line and everyone gives each other the hangry looks.

This might sound crazy… but I’ve lived in the area for years, and I’ve never visited Bob & Edith’s until now. Bob & Edith’s is one of the most popular restaurant in the strip mall(Chipotle at the end of the mall is close competition). I came in at 11am for a weekend breakfast and was amazed at how packed it was. There were at least five groups waiting for a table. You seat yourself, so keep an eye out for empty tables when it’s your turn. We ordered pancakes and waffles, and the pancakes much better. If you like your pancakes extra crispy, Bob & Edith’s is the place to go. It’s really loud here, and many families and children dine in. It’s NOT the place to eat for a relaxing brunch.

Loving this place! Yummy fluffy pancakes and a great fresh tasting steak and cheese. The food came out piping hot and tasty. I appreciated how clean and bright it is in here and our server was very sweet. This will definitely be in my restaurant rotation, bob and ediths is sooooo much better than the ihop or the amphora’s around!

I used to go to the one in Arlington in the 90s after a late night out. I remember the food being pretty good. So we tried out the one in Springfield. It was crowded and loud. Very loud. The service is excellent. They want to get you in and out fast. We will go back again.

My parents are in town and they are old school folks who were craving for hot open faced roast beef sandwich. So that was exactly what we ordered. The portions were huge and even if it looked mighty appetizing, the quality of the dish didn’t match up to the quantity. The roast beef didn’t seem fresh and the mashed potatoes probably came from a box. We did appreciate that the servers were attentive and prompt. A diner is a diner and this one felt like the real deal. Can’t get any old school than this! Next time I’ll try something else like their breakfast offerings or chili dog with the hope it will be a better experience, food wise.

I was looking for something to eat late one evening, and this was one of the few restaurants open. They are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The interior is classic diner. There’s a small bar but mostly tables for seating. They have an extensive, typical diner menu and serve breakfast all day. I was in the mood for an omelet. It was a three egg omelet and came with hash browns and toast. The food was not gourmet but good. The server was friendly and efficient. I wouldn’t hesitate to return here when looking for a late night meal but would not likely choose to eat here when other restaurants were open.

3.5 Stars. It’s what you expect at a diner and conveniently open 24 hours. We came in around 3 pm so they were not super busy and you can pick your own seats. I had their pork chops and eggs and it reminded me of Waffle House’s pork chops and eggs which I like. Two pork chops, scrambled eggs, hash brown, and toast for around $ 10 bucks is a good deal. My girlfriends said the sausages were flavorful so overall we were all please with our food.

I’m not sure what all of the complaints are about. The food here was fast and delicious, and fairly reasonably priced for a good portion size. The service was very attentive and the place was clean. More than one person, including one of the cooks, asked me how my food was and if they could get me anything. I came in for breakfast, and everything was very good. The scrambled eggs were perfect, not too hard, just a little soft and creamy. Corned beef hash was nice and crunchy on the outside. I also ordered a side of scrapple, because… scrapple. Nice and crispy on the outside, scrappley on the inside. I’ll be back next time I’m in town.

I’ll give this place a solid 4 stars. Service was fast, our waiter was nice and the food was pretty good! My husband and I both ordered the special of the morning-chicken fried steak with a cheese omelet, hash browns and toast. The cheese inside the omelet was bad-it was that orange fake American cheese-I wish I would have thought to ask to have them out provolone! Other than that I really enjoyed my meal! The chicken fried steak was delicious with the sausage gravy and the hash browns were also good. It was my perfect diner fix! My husband liked his meal as well and we both left stuffed and the price was so decent!

Decided to try this place because it’s close to my office and I am so glad I did because I was not disappointed. It gives a certain food-chain-not-in-the-area air that I actually appreciated. The staff was warm and friendly and you can tell that the customers were frequent fliers. The menu is truly after a southerners heart with grits, scrapple, fried bologna(a nostalgic fav of mine – shhhhh) and chipped beef. The food is fresh and tasty. I’ll definitely be back!

People definitely hyped this place up quite a bit! My husband and I were deciding on where to eat after watching Deadpool on a Saturday evening and I suggested Bob and Edith since I read some good reviews about this place. First things first, walked in… no one greeted us. It was our first time here so I was expecting someone to say welcome and I was looking around and saw 2SMALL signs in the front saying«please seat yourself.» Ok… would be nice to have someone come out and say welcome, feel free to sit anywhere you’d like or even make the signs larger and somewhere in the middle than the sides. We sat down and an older man can up to us asking if he can help us with anything… um…we JUST sat down, not even acknowledging the menu yet. But he was kind enough to apologize and said take our time. Then a younger server came up to us asking if we’ve been here before and presented us the daily specials shown on the wall on the other side of the restaurant. Anyways, onto our orders: I got the multi grain hot cakes(stack of 3) and two scrambled eggs and my husband got country fried steak and eggs with toast. Once we got our orders, we weren’t all too impressed with the portion. My pancakes or hot cakes I should say are a decent size but very thin and my egg portion looks much smaller than 3 scrambled eggs, not worth spending $ 7-$ 8 just for hot cakes and two eggs. My husband’s country fried steak was literally as the size of a child’s palm, which was really small for it being country fried steak. While we were eating, the server that we had seriously did not check on us once… asking how we’re doing or if we need anything else, quite disappointing when there weren’t a lot of people inside the restaurant. Would I come here again? Probably not… unless it was at another location, maybe. But it was worth a try…

Bob & Edith’s on a Sunday morning is pretty much chaotic madness, but perhaps that’s part of the charm of this old-timey-feel diner, reincarnated from the original Arlington location in a Springfield strip mall. On a bit of a whim, and in a desperate craving for breakfast foods of any sort after a long night of studying, my boyfriend and I decided to travel to Bob & Edith’s as a part of our breakfast-seeking adventure. We had to wait a bit for a table, but once we were seated(and note, you have to actively look out for patrons leaving to seat yourselves), service was very quick, polite, and encompassing. It was a little confusing since there wasn’t a dedicated server for our table, but all of the wait staff were understanding and promptly met our needs when asked. I ordered one of the breakfast specials, which came with two heaping pancakes, eggs, and a protein(I chose sausage) for under $ 10. I also ordered a side of home fries(as if I needed any more carbs but hey! it was a Sunday morning breakfast adventure #treatyoself). The pancakes were perfectly cooked and not over done. Lightly fluffy and with a pat of butter, they definitely hit the spot. The eggs and sausage were similarly satisfactory. The home fries were tasty, but perhaps could have used some more seasoning and some more time on the griddle. Ambience-wise, you’re not going to get much of it from Bob & Edith’s. But that’s not what you’re looking for. Nor are you looking for some kind of wild gastronomic adventure with gelées or foams. Bob & Edith’s provides that authentic diner experience, complete with a flurry of loud griddle sounds, bustling servers, and constant commotion, with some really good home style breakfast/cooking. And that’s all one can really ask for on a Sunday morning breakfast adventure. Final notes: — If you’re like me and over order, step on over to the recently-remodeled Springfield Town Center to walk off the calories! — This place is pretty large(way bigger than the Bob & Edith’s on Columbia Pike), so it’s a better bet for those not looking to wait too long in line.

We decided to check out this place on a busy Saturday morning. It was confusing at first because we didn’t see a host and weren’t really sure of the seating process. We arrived when there were only about 3 others in line. As the servers cleaned off the tables, the patrons in line headed for the empty table. We nabbed a nice 2 seater table in the middle of the place. The server immediately brought us menus and took our orders. The is made to order, thus takes a bit longer than your average eat/run diner. Both of us enjoyed the piping hot meal. I really can’t stand it when I know the food has been sitting under a heat lamp and I get my food lukewarm. This was not the case this morning. My potatoes and eggs were quite hot and also very tasty. We will definitely be back to explore the other menu items now that we know how seating works.

Crazy crowded place ! It seems like this area is kind of limited in terms of breakfast and brunch places. Thankfully we found this diner while checking out Unilocal. Once you walk in you stand in line until a table opens up. It’s kind of hard to gauge whether it’s a seat-yourself system or they come up to you. We ended up just walking up to the table they cleaned up once it was our turn. There are tons of options for the egg lovers. I got a steak omelet which was nice and hot ! The omelet was not salty so I had to use ketchup and tobasco to add some flavor. The steak was surprisingly better than I expected. I also had home fries and wheat toast. They even buttered the toast, nice little touch.

Love the Arlington location so I was excited about this one opening up close to home. I probably prefer the Springfield location over the Arlington one. Why? There’s no drunk people trashing up the place after a hellish night out at Clarendon Ballroom. The food at this one is just as good, if not better. You know you crave a hearty country fried steak with eggs & hash browns after a long night of drinking. They make it perfect each time; not frozen and tasteless like ihop’s and this place is much cleaner than Barnside(Sorry Barnside lol). I’m a bit shock that anyone would write anything bad about the service here because they are always courteous and polite whenever I stop in. Bob & Edith’s just opened and not a lot of people realize that this is the #1 choice you should make when deciding on a breakfast restaurant. OPEN24HOURS! :)

This little diner was hopping… I mean staff clearing tables quickly, staff running to take orders and deliver food. It was crazy busy when we walked in, and since it was our first time, we didn’t know that it was a ‘seat yourself if you see a table but do it while waiting in line’ kind of service. That’s a cool way but make sure you keep your eye open for a table. They clear them quickly! I was so excited to see the menu, there was something for everyone. If you can’t find a diner dish you want, then you are in the wrong place. This menu was awesome! I love me some of the old-fashioned corn beef hash, and they fried it up exactly like my dad used to make: straight from the can, fried, and onto my toast! The toast and english muffins were glazed with oodles of butter, just like I make… so watch out cardio-patients.this is a once in a lifetime treat! The over-easy eggs were PERFECT… just enough running yolk for my bread dipping. I wish I had another… Service was fast and friendly! The staff was hopping! They seem to have their process in place and the order takers took the orders, the food runners delivered piping hot food, and the table cleanup took place faster than I could imagined. In all seriousness, this little town needs a 24⁄7 shop like Bob & Edith’s Diner! I can’t wait to try the non-breakfast items!
