First venture back since 2 star review. Service was much faster and I received my drink within 10 minutes of ordering. I highly recommend the Cabo Flip margarita as it packs quite the punch! Also, the best deal of the weeknight is arriving for happy hour and receiving half off the regular bar menu prices. Keep up the good work &4 stars hover on your horizon!

In Springfield for the holidays from Austin TX. We brought our family here because the one in downtown Austin is so good. This place was a mess. It was dead inside and the most frustrating part was their kids meal. Mostly reasonable unless you want a cheese quesadilla and then you pay $ 8 for a tortilla with cheese. Food was ok but nothing like the others. Not sure how they can be so different from the others. Boo!

The resturaunt is beautiful inside with fresh avocados on the table ready to be hand made into guacamole. The service was excellent, our server Josh was knowledgable and friendly. The food was delicious and the salsa was just right. Portions were big(took some home for second dinner!) and the drinks were great — especially the margaritas! Would definitely visit again if I didn’t live 1,655 miles away!

We eat here often, mainly because my husband likes it. Their chips(light, crisp, airy) and salsa(one warm and one chilled) might be the best in town, and have assuredly contributed to my waistline. Unfortunately, that is where my love affair ends. I have tried several of their entrees but am just not impressed. Maybe those little chicken tacos at lunch — but their rice always tastes stale to me. I’m also not a fan of their tiny, limp drinks. Don’t bother with the Margaritas — they are a poor substitute. It is a clean restaurant, with comfortable décor. And they do make good table guac. So — tacos, chips, salsa and guac gets 3 stars. Avoid the rest.

Not on the top of my list. The food was good, the drinks were small and the service is none existent.

Too Too Loud!!! I struggled to hear my wife across the table from me during our meal. Food was bland and not that impressive. Waiter was inattentive, and acted like we were bothering him. Will not be back.

Our second experience was no where near as good as our first. The food was good, not sure why but this time they had they a more traditional red Mexican rice, instead of the cilantro lime kind we had last time, that was disappointing. Our server this time was semi-adequate-she was there to do her job, some of it anyway. She never asked for our drink order, she just brought us water. The thing I really don’t understand, is we had reservations-but we were seated at a bar table-right by the bar, kitchen, order computer, and right in the path to the restrooms… we couldn’t hear each other talk because of the chaos and music. Not sure if we’ll be back again.

First the good news. the steak on the fajita tacos was amazingly flavorful and tender. I wish I had a platter of that alone. The rest was really lackluster. over cooked chicken in the mole enchiladas… black beans with no flavor and the same for the rice … way over priced for the the quality as well. My biggest issue however was that my wife and I both hate cilantro and we explained this to the server. We asked that nothing we order come with cilantro in it or on it. 4 of our 5 dishes came out with cilantro in it or on it. I sent my entrée back with an explanation and was told that the cooks didn’t know that the pico has cilantro in it. Maybe they also didn’t realize the pile of chopped green stuff they put on top was cilantro as well. Know your menu, the ingredients and how its cooked. This goes for the front and back of the house both.

I am from Texas and have been to several other Cantina Laredo’s in the past. I think this one does not hold up to some of the other ones I have been to. The service was slow at best, never really asking if we wanted refills on our drinks. We also had to wait quite awhile for a table which was a little frustrating as we had attempted to call ahead. We had a large group and started with guacomole and ceviche. Both were pretty good, but be warned the ceviche has olives, which I hate. I go the Camarones Escondidos. The Chipotle wine sauce tasted far from any chipotle sauce or Mexican dish I have had in the past. The portion size was big and it tasted pretty good but it definitely wasn’t what I was expecting. Also, the sauce is on there pretty heavy, so its not a lighter dish that I was hoping for. Probably won’t come back when i come back for another business trip.

I visited Cantina Laredo when the first opened. The atmosphere was very relaxing, modern, and clean. The menu, while somewhat on the higher end as far as pricing goes, is fresh and creative. The quality of the food is obvious when you taste it. If you’re looking for a unique, different spin on «Modern Hispanic» cuisine, this place is recommended. I would frequent this place on rare occasion.

Overpriced. Awful food. Better service at a fast food place. Just not my type of place…

Go on tuesdays ans get the $ 2 tacos. Much cheaper and you get the same amount of food for half as much. Although I have given this establishment numerous tries I still feel like the cost to quality comparison is not acceptable. Either lower the prices or step up the quality… something has to give here.

Ok. I wondered when I saw the low rating. Now I know. I love the one in branson but this one can’t compare. It wasn’t the food, the food was ok. It was the service. Servers got foods deliver to wrong tables twice. We moved down one chair when friends came in… She didn’t like that all. She then served our drinks and asked if we were ready to order. We said. No… We are going to talk for awhile. She must have had some Christmas shopping to do cause she came back 5 minutes later. We all ordered yet another drink. She again wanted our orders. The table went ahead and ordered. It came out in less than 10 minutes. It was fine. Not great but ok. Before we were done she brought over the check. I told her that we were going to Order some coffee …(Make it a baileys and coffee.). I felt like she was rushing us out of there. Anyway. She ended up getting coffee,(Cold coffee) and was nice but it just wasn’t good service. After my 2 beers and coffee and baileys I had to relieve the old bladder. The bathroom was dirty. Looked like a McDonald’s on game night. The back of toilet was so dusty I wrote dust me on it. Tissue on floor and no paper towels. The place is fun to go to but they need to slow it down and clean it up. If not … It won’t last. You have better choices out there. Thanks

No thanks. I will go if there is some type of party I have been invited to, and this is the location. That’s about it. The food is bland, which is pretty significant since it is supposedly Mexican cuisine.(bland and Mexican flavor are pretty contradictory, don’t you think?) and the price is completely unreasonable. I mean seriously. My enchiladas are way better than this place and I can make them for a fraction of the cost. Maybe I should start my own restaurant!

Very over priced food and drinks. I know this place is the current«hip» place for a lot of people on weekend nights. Very crowded and loud. Food is fairly good(B– range) but very over priced for Mexican food which is usually inexpensive because the ingredients are cheap to buy. They obviously feel they can charge you much more to be in a trendy place. So the high prices you are paying is not for top quality food it is for being on premises and covering their overhead costs for the lavish building and interior. If you want to pay this much for dinner go to someplace like Flame or Metropolitan Grill, at least their high prices are justified by really great food and service. Apparently this place fills the Springfield niche of Mexican food in a «glamorous, hip setting»: LOL Service is pretty poor and it looks like they need to seriously re-train many waiters, waitresses and bartenders since they are all over the place with service. If you want authentic Mexican food that is tremendously better and about a quarter of the price do yourself a favor and go to Tortilleria Perches. Not a fancy glitzy place(located in a strip mall on Kansas Exprwy. and Sunshine) just the best Mexican food restaurant in town by far. If you want to see and be seen, wait 15 – 45 minutes for a table, yell to be heard at dinner and are willing to pay for it, go to Cantina Laredo. If you want outstanding authentic Mexican food at a great price go to Tortilleria Perches.

The food is ok, not sure as good as what I paid for. Also expected more food for the money I spent. The server we had was so so. My biggest problem with this place is the cost compared to what ya get. In my opinion not worth it, until the portion get bigger. I know some will say you don’t need a ton of food, but I do if I’m going to pay that kinda money. Personally I will not be back until there is some kind of portion change. I think the Branson location is better food and better portion. Just my 2 cents.

I’m convinced the people of Springfield do not understand flavors. Yes! This place is expensive! Totally worth is. The quality is there to justify the prices. The table side guac is delicious! I can’t remember the name but I had the prime rib tacos. The most amazing thing I ever tasted!!! It’s definitely not traditional Mexican but more gourmet inspired Mexican fusion. If youhave a cultured pallet you’ll appreciate it.

I knew going to Cantina Laredo to not have high expectations, but wow. For being a new establishment, this restaurant needs some work. We had a private birthday party reservation in a separate room, which was nice, because the atmosphere is extremely loud all around. Our waiter was nice enough to change the channel to the Cards v. Cubs baseball game on the television. This helped, because with the reservation at 6:30, we didn’t even get to order until well after 7pm. I ordered the guacamole and the chicken fajitas. My husband ordered the chicken enchiladas. I was not really impressed with any of my meal, except for the quality of chicken was fairly decent. However, not worth almost $ 17. I’d say the biggest complaint was that the fajitas were served with three small thicker tortillas. If you were sharing, this was not enough. I don’t really eat any grains much anymore, so this wasn’t a huge issue, but still frustrating. Our total meal did not conclude until well after 8:30 pm. Service was just ridiculously slow. There is a fine line of leisure and slow. Cantina Laredo needs to be careful of this. Springfield is filled to the brim with decently priced Mexican and Tex Mex(and then, the Springfieldian Mexican Villa) restaurants. If you are going to be a fine dining establishment that offers this common genre of food, you need to step up your game and offer something unique and vibrant.

Half empty restaurant and they sit us(just 2 of us, a man and woman out for dinner) next to the drunk party. Rather than giving us a place spaced out a bit! Will not come back! The food was ok, overpriced for the area but ok nonetheless. Server Brandie was fine and did a good job, actually had some server etiquette which was a nice change!

Nice atmosphere but very loud. Hannah & Derek provided excellent service to our group of about 20 for an anniversary party. Table made guacamole was good and fresh, as we’re the two salsas. That’s what got my 3-star rat I was excited to try the carnitas as this is my favorite Mexican dish that I enjoyed for 13 years in San Diego(15 minutes from the Mexican border). I was sad to learn that theirs is a bone-in pork shank with chipotle sauce — not even close to what I was used to in Dan Diego(more like pork fajitas). But the Enchiladas De Camerones(shrimp enchilada) was pretty good. Overall — great service and pretty good food, but a bit pricey for our budget. Also, it would have been nice if they had let us know up front(or on the web site or when the reservation was made) that there is an automatic 20% gratuity added to groups over a certain number before we ordered instead of when they brought the checks(how many? They didn’t say). Especially since we were 8 – 9 parties of two, not one party of 20. We only paid for our drinks — parents paid for our meals. Two beers & two house margaritas were $ 24.40, plus the 20% gratuity they added. Had we paid for our entrées our bill would have been over $ 60 for two of us. Gourmet Mexican food? I’d rather have authentic…
