Doesn’t get any better then this place. Amazing fish perfectly breaded and seasoned. Been coming here for over 15 years and never had a bad experience. This is truly one of the best places in Springfailed.
The amount of food for your money is insane. Beware during lent, it can get crazy call ahead.

Every time I come to Springfield, it is a MUST that I stop by Carter’s. By far the best fried catfish I’ve every had. I just hate that they are not open on Sundays or Mondays.

Absolutely positively the best place for fried fish. VERY generous portions, very good customer service, and damn good fish. I order a walleye/​Shrimp mix with an order of fries and it is enough food for 2.5 people.
Can’t say enough about this little shack, have been going here for years and friends who have moved away still talk about it. Call ahead if you know what you want, lines can get long at times.

My goodness, this place is a find! The fried fish is so hot and tasty. Order one dinner for two — as the fish with sides like okra or fries is too much for one person. And stop by the fresh fish market next door for scored buffalo and carp. You’ll need to come on Tuesday or Wednesday because they sell out quickly. Great customer service also.

This is literally the best fish place in springfield; call, order on the phone, and pick up in 15min. Food is always hot and fresh! Make sure to call a little early on lunch hour they do get busy!

Great food at a great price. I hate fish if I’m not in a coastal area and it’s not fresh, but I’ll eat this and like it! The plates are huge, so keep this in mind when ordering.
