Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen

We were there for about 15 minutes no one came by to even offer water. However, the waitstaff was standing by the hostess podium chatting away and laughing with the manager or over by the bar chatting away. That will be the last time we go there we have given them three chances and that was the last time.

Such a great place to eat! Okay so this place is a little expensive bit it is so worth the money. I always get the steak and chicken strip meal and always have leftovers. I highly recommend this place. Get a salad as one of your sides. They come with a croissant! Also if you like margaritas there’s are fish bowl sized. And so tasty! A very good place to eat :-)

I don’t quite understand all the hype here. I wanted to feel the hype but it just wasn’t there. It felt like your average American chain restaurant to me. However, I don’t have any complaints, the service and food was perfectly fine. I really enjoyed the spinach dip appetizer. I also had the ribs which were perfectly fall of the bone if that’s what you like. I was also rather impressed by the broccolli oddly enough, it was perfectly seasoned. I’m sure this can vary from day to day.

This place was outstanding as was the food, service, quanity & quality. Everything we had was Excellent & they had so many great things on the menu, it makes you want to keep on coming back to try more of their food. You can not go wrong by eating here.

Great food at great prices.

Great Springfield favorite. Nice selection of food and drinks at good prices. Service is fast from the well trained staff. It can get loud and be prepared to wait during peak times. The crispy fish tacos are good, but there’s more fish than taco! Not saying its bad, just hard to eat.

The food is always amazing we have never been unsatisfied with it. The service though is spotty especially during busy times we have gone full meals with out refills or seeing our waiters/​waitress. But they are a very busy place and the food is some of the best in town.

Fried cornmeal catfish is always our favorite! The catfish filets are always fried perfectly, no fishy smell. Fish taco is nice. Spinach dip was wonderful it came with tasty salsa sauce. This place is always pack and we always have to wait. Good food good price!

We enjoyed a great lunch today and the service was excellent. And fast! Even tho they were busy. Next time we will order the onion ring towers we saw going by! My favorite is the indulgent Monte Cristo.

I love Cheddars! Their menu has a very wide variety of options. From pasta dishes, to soul food, to wraps and sandwiches. And an amazing light menu for those trying to cut calories. But those who aren’t, they have the best spinach dip I have ever had. I usually get their steak philly sandwich, a must buy. So yummy.
The service is always very well timed and the staff is friendly. Definitely a place to try. And the prices are incredibly reasonable.

Love this place. It’s one of my absolute favorite places to eat! The food is here at and the prices are not too bad either. We eat here a lot! Most of our experiences have been good. There have been a few bad experience but after talking to the manager or the GM it was made right. If you want good home style food that’s not a buffet then CHEDDARS is the place to go. It’s a good place for the whole family. It has an adult feel, but it’s still suitable for children as well. Now I think I need to go eat…

This is a good place to go if you are hungry. The onion rings are huge, and my biggest recommendation is to get the ribs, quantity and price are unmatched in the town. Its not a fancy place, and its usually crowded, but I understand why.

Cheddars has always pleased me and I always pretty much order the same thing. Chicken fried chicken. It’s delicious! They give you a big portion and it’s cheap! The chicken is always hot and juicy. I love the buttered sweet croissants that they have. Service has always been pleasant. They are always super busy especially on the weekends!

My favorite place to eat in all of Springfield. Just can’t go wrong with their chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes.

Cheddar’s never disappoints– they really cook the food themselves and the one time my husband got something unsavory (a sad chicken fried steak) they were happy to replace it– and charge us extra. Hey, so they’re not perfect, but the waiter was friendly and it’s a comfortable place to enjoy comforting food.

Great place to bring the fam. Kids have some awesome choices and the adults always seem happy. Can get a little loud at times. The quality of the food is usually very good considering the number of people being served.

The onion rings are AMAZING and our waiter was extremely nice. Food proportions are generous and their pricings are fair. This is one of my favorite resturants!

Food amazing. However the manager on duty was a rude jerk. Don’t think you will be set with or even close to your group. They seat you across from each other or back to back in booths. How in the world do you enjoy company with your friends when your backis to them. Not going back. The nine of us went to another place instead. Problem was the man was just rude.

Cheddars is our go-​to place. It’s consistently good and the prices are extremely reasonable. I think a lot of people come for the chicken strips, which are delicious, but if i had to recommend one thing it would be the homemade chicken pot pie. I swear it’s like a hidden gem on the menu! It’s a large, homemade pie with super soft, flaky crust and filled with lots of GOOD, fresh chicken and veggies and always served hot; right out of the oven. Total comfort food. I literally crave the pot pie. If you can, try to avoid sitting toward the front in the winter months because it can get really cold. There is usually a short wait and it can get pretty crowded and loud in there. The staff are usually prompt and friendly. I feel like there’s something for everyone here.

Went on Valentine’s Day with my wife, kids, and a couple of friends from out of town. Expected to wait due to the size of our party and the holiday. I was right. Got seated in a good location and really enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere. I went with my stand by: chicken tenders with honey mustard, mashed potatoes and white gravy, and broccoli and cheese casserole. Good place!

My fiancé and I decided on Cheddars for dinner and a strong drink after a long day at work. We get seated right at 7pm. The dining room is somewhat busy, but servers are still out. We sit for FIFTEEN minutes without anyone checking on us before we decide to leave. A manager catches us on our way out and convinces us to give them a second chance– It was COLD outside, we were hungry, we agreed.
The manager seated us in a new section. The new server was super attentive without being overbearing. The food was delicious. My pomegranate margarita was tasty and strong. Both managers checked in to make sure our experience had improved. They could have easily lost two customers because of one server’s mistakes, but the hospitality and willingness to correct the issue prevented this from happening. We overall enjoyed our experience and would return in the future.

First — the food is delicious, portions are generous to the point we were wondering how they make a profit, and the price is unbeatable. Went for a family meal and everyone could have taken a second meal to go essentially; most expensive item being the full rack of ribs at 14 $.
Service was great and responsive when we asked for a soup to be reheated — they brought out a steaming fresh bowl within a couple minutes.
The one star off is for being slightly messy. There was food being walked over in the dining room, father in law stepped in some grease on the way to the restroom, etc.

St. Louis finally got a Cheddar’s! When we happened to be in Springfield and there happened to be a Cheddar’s why not try this one?
I’ve been here before, but my trips were never super memorable. This time, eating with my super price conscious father and spicey conscious mother «If it burns going in, it’s going to burn coming out.» We all left Cheddar’s full and satisfied. It was early lunch rush on Sunday and our service was perfect.
We started with their version of Edamame, which came with a type of soy sauce and instead of salt, a powder/​spice mixture that made the lentils more exciting. While my mom poured table salt onto her plate to use instead, everyone else liked it. The portions were huge and the prices were mostly under $ 10. We asked the server what Cheddar’s was known for and she said the chicken tenders. I’m thinking to myself, how can you screw up chicken tenders, everywhere serves them… My dad and I both ordered tenders and they really were worth writing home about! The meat was tender and the breading was not overwhelming.
Definitely a must-​stop the next time I’m near one!
