Dillard’s

So I’m pulling through the parking and stop at a stop sign while a lady crosses using the crosswalk. A mini van pulls around me on the left, barely misses the lady IN THE CROSSWALK, only to pull into a drop off. A teenage girl is driving, a dillards employee (Clinique to be exact) gets out of the passengers side. I pull up next to her and say, «You almost hit that lady!» She replies, «No, we were watching.» You drove around me, stopped at a stop sign. Through a crosswalk as someone crossed. What exactly was she watching?!

GREAT Chanel counter and the makeup counters overall were so clean and tidy. Jennifer at Chanel was awesome and I’m going to order my makeup from her from now on and have them ship for free to KC. Super sweet, knowledgable and sooo clean. LOVE this store.

Originally an associate at this location, I have to commend Alan Pierson, the men’s suit specialist. The sales at this DILLARDS are much better than the ones in Las Vegas. I just ordered and received my new Hugo Boss coat. It was originally $ 495. Got it for $ 173! Alan got it out for me in superb timing!

This store has legendary sales. LEGENDARY
One of these days I am going to lead a caravan of cars from Chicago on down. My friends actually get jealous of the deals that I find. I get a bit nervous that I am going to get stopped on the way out– like something is wrong. The sales are just unfrickingbelieveable!
A Calvin Klein pea coat for 32 $? Uh, sure, mine! How many colors do you have it in? Just a note– I saw the same one at TJ max for 70 $ a year later. THIS IS HOW GOOD the SALES ARE. CRAZY GOOD!!!
Dooney and Burke purses on sale? Hand them on over. Shoe sales galore. Name brands too, none of the unknown unwanted stuff! Yesterday we found Cole Hahn purses on sale. Unheard of at home.
The clerks are always incredibly helpful. Once in awhile you get a snobby one, but that is very rare. I had one helping me for the last two days that was absolutely incredible. Really. She helped me shop for some friends in CA, and I was able to get stuff for them that I would not have been able to find without her.
My mother actually calls my SIL and I to tell us when sales are happening so we can put in requests. It is like Christmas multiple times per year.
Dillards has cut their stock down due to the recession. However, You can still find some pretty awesome stuff!

Just want to add that the shoe selection at Dillards is good. I buy when they are on sale.
Updated August 2013: I came in looking for navy blue shoes and this young man brought me about 8 different options. I don’t know what the thing is about navy blue, but I couldn’t find them at other stores in my size, and even if they had been in my size, the stores lacked the options in navy that Dillards had.

So I have always wanted a cashmere sweater. I love the stuff. I received a cashmere blend overcoat for Christmas and just love it, so when I went into Dillard’s the other day and found they were have a sale on there sweaters I almost had a conniption fit. Then I realized that I am freakishly tall and can not buy regular clothing. You see I need shirts with monkey arms, because, well I’m a monkey. Anyhoo I swing on over to the big and TALL department to see if I will have any chance of getting my sweater. So I look and don’t find I thing and then I thought what do most people do when they can’t find something, ask for help. Then again I’m a guy and guys don’t like asking for directions, so I do what we all do I looked around for another twenty minutes and then it happened. I found the last black cashmere sweater in my size, it was great. Full price was $ 150, but thanks to the awesome clearance sales that this store runs I got it for $ 30. Now we know how they make so much money…

I love Dillards. Anything you could possibly want is in one store. And they carry a lot of designers like Michael Khors, Gianni Bini, BCBG, …i could spend ALL DAY in their handbags department. Everything from Lucky, Fossil, and Guess to Coach, Dooney’s, and Gianni Bini. I bought a Kathy purse from them several months ago that needed some restitching and they repaired it for me for free.

Shoes! I can’t believe there isn’t a separate place to rate shoe shopping! Dillard’s is located in the south end of the mall and has the best selection of women’s shoes in Springfield. (Sorry, Plaza!) The salespeople are generally helpful and not too pushy. It can be a busy place, they run lots of sales and I’ve never had them not have my size. Everything from high dollar fashion (well, high according to my budget) to comfort/​European shoes to fun casual and athletic. The men’s shoes are located in the other Dillards location further west in the mall, and they have an outstanding selection also.
