I’ve ordered from this place before for delivery. I’m thinking 20 – 30 minutes tops. It took a whole hour for it to be delivered to my house, when I’m just 10 minutes away. I called to ask where my food was and I was speaking to a little kid and basically all she could tell me is my food will be there soon… I wouldn’t of ordered it if it would take an HOUR!!! That’s ridiculous! I decided to give this place another try because I do like the food a lot. This time I carried out. So I called a head of time to place my order & it’s still a little kid taking my order, not telling me how much my order is going to be or how long it’s going to take. Bottom line is I feel like they need to have an adult up at the front who knows what they’re doing especially if something like waiting for an hour for your food happens again.

Delicious Chinese food in Springfield area! The food was perfectly salted and not oily. Ingredients were fresh and the General tso chicken was absolutely delicious with lots of meat.

Good was great. They delivered even on a day the government was shut down due to a snow storm. The BEST part was two little girls delivered my food to my door(talking maybe like 6 yrs old!?). They were so sweet and all smiles! A pleasant surprise which made my boring snow day happy!

I like this place. I always order combination Lo mein, house fried rice and an order of crab Rangoon. The only reason I really come here is because when you spend over 20 $ you get a free crab Rangoon. The crab Rangoon is delicious, and the sauce it comes with is great too. The reason they’re getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because it’s kinda uncomfortable having little kids running around. When I went with my boyfriend there were kids(obviously the owners kids) sitting at the tables playing with toys, leaving no place for us to sit while we wait for our food. Other than that the foods really good, id recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent Chinese take out.

Love this place! The good is great, and the service(provided by a surly teenage [I’d assume] owner’s daughter) is always accurate. You can do way worse than the good carry-out served with a scowl at this hole in the wall.

I’ve only come here for the lunch special. I’ve tried the general Tsos with fried rice and an egg roll and the vegetable lo mein. General Tsos is good– some of the chicken looked a little suspicious after taking a bite and examining it… aka brought my bf leftovers and he wouldn’t even eat it. Veggie lo mein was bomb and the egg roll was great. The lunch special was 6.50 $ so I’d come back and try something else just because the price is right.

I was in Springfield to play pool at Hard Times Café, but I couldn’t do so on an empty stomach. I saw a Baskin Robbins and since my parents weren’t around, I decided to have dessert before dinner. While heading towards the Baskin Robbins, I saw Ding How and suddenly I was craving Chinese food. I walked in and the place smelled really good, always a positive sign. However, this pleasant smell was drowned out by the loud noise coming from the children of the owners. They were crying and complaining at the top of their voices. This is very unprofessional for a restaurant. This is a workplace and is not a place for taking care of children. The menu looked great and had some nice options. I was deciding between the House special rice noodles(with chicken, beef, and shrimp) and the Singapore rice noodles(spicy curry with pork and shrimp). I wanted to replace the pork of the Singapore noodles with beef and the girl at the register said that would be an extra $ 2.50 due to the more expensive nature of beef. If you look at the menu, nowhere is beef that much more expensive than pork. I was not happy that she tried to swindle me like that. I ended up buying the House special noodles instead. Although the service wasn’t great, the food was amazing. I absolutely loved the texture of the rice noodles and the combination of the meats. The meat was chewy and flavorful as well. However, you can get this kind of Chinese food at other restaurants with much better service. The food is great here, but they need to work on their service and presentation.

Chinese food worth a visit. Better than several of the dives in this area. General Tso’s chicken and shredded pork w garlic sauce are worth a repeat; fried chicken wings were great; szechuan beef was as Michael O’s review-more assorted veggie than beef.(Note: beef prices are on the rise now due to the drought out west.) However, the spiciness/heat level of the szechuan dish was great. No attitude seen as reported in an older review. Family owned and friendly. A great carry out place location if you partner shops at Talbots.

My wife and I ordered Chicken Egg Foo Yung to share. My wife felt like there wasn’t much chicken in the dish and I prefer dishes with more vegetables. So overall it was a 3.5.(If only Unilocal had such a rating.) I would eat here again, especially because of how close it was to the Residence Inn-Old Keene Mill where we were staying.

Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! This place get one Horrible! for each star that Unilocal allows. I ordered fried rice, hunan chicken, and lo mien. I knew I was in trouble when I opened the three containers and everything appeared to be the same dish. It wasn’t until I forked one container, that I found noodles under the rice. I was willing to ignore fact that it all looked the same, but it even taste the same. Hey! Dong How you got me once, but you won’t get me again. Is there a way to post No! Stars? Unilocal help me.

We got a group lunch order for the office. How hard is it to pair Lunch specials(L1, L2, etc) with either white or fried rice and egg roll or soup. We had to pretty much say the L# and all fried rice and all egg rolls. Ok, I got the Shrimp Lo Mein lunch. I really didn’t care that it came with what was supposed to be fried rice. I have never ever in my 32 years that I have been Chinese seen yellow fried rice. Yup, yellow. It was as if i was eating yellow Tex Mex rice. No soy sauce in the fried rice at all. However, the lo mein was pretty darn good. So, 4 for the lo mein, 1 – 2 for everything else.

Soo this is how bad this place is… bad enough that i actually signed up for Unilocal so i can review it… I went and tried it because of all the good reviews. and where should I start: 1. I ordered carry out(online order), picked up in store, went home and found my soup missing! not even worth it to drive back to get it. 2. The food — HORRIBLE!. i am not picky. i can eat either authentic Chinese or American Chinese(like Panda Express), but this place just SUCKS big time… all my dishes tasted the same(soy sauce taste). and greasy.

Holy $h!Z. Uhhhh, yeah it’s that good. West coast good. Better. Better than west coast good. How in the heck did i never know about this place. Spring rolls — I was like a fat kid on cake. Garlic chicken — it was actually spicy — like its supposed to be(and if you don’t know that, you’ve been eating the Chinese around here). Cashew chicken(oh guilty pleasure) was sooo ooo ooo good. And that is right across the street from Wine and More only makes the darn place better. Go. You wont want to hit another Chinese joint. Ever.

I’ve been in Springfield for the past 5 years and this is the best Chinese food around. There is no difference in quality between pick up or delivery. Probably because they deliver so fast! This is a family run business which likely is the reason for the consistent quality of the food. The young lady at the front counter does a great job taking orders and is always friendly. I would highly recommend Ding How to anyone looking for good and inexpensive Chinese food.

The best chinese food i have ever had. Freshest tasting fried food without that heavy old oil taste you get at most restaurants. EVERYTHING was very authentic and just the taste was awesome and the food obviously fresh!

BYFAR, the best mom and pop Asian place in the area. The rice is amazing. The Shrimp is seasoned perfect. It’s traditionally. Everything you get on the menu is great. Take out takes awhile(5−15mins) but the delivery is surprisingly fast(25 – 35 mins) YOUMUSTTRY!

It’s not like the old days, but it’s still pretty good. Back in the day(70s!), the owners rolled their own egg rolls, which were astonishingly good. The world moved on, and it’s not quite the same. I don’t think they’re homemade egg rolls anymore, and I don’t care for the new ones at all. That having been said, I was recuperating from flu while staying at the Residence Inn, and the only thing I really wanted to eat was won ton soup and beef lo mein. Ding How was my family’s go-to carryout place for years, so I knew where to go. The won ton soup was basic but good. The beef lo mein used to be beef, mushrooms, and noodles, but now it’s a bit lighter with other vegetables included. I preferred the old, but the new is quite serviceable. My parents prefer newer places over in West Springfield, and I mostly agree with them. However, if basic carryout in Central Springfield is what you want, Ding How is pretty good.

**HORRIBLEATTITUDE/INCONSISTENT FOOD** I went to this restaurant after searching the DMV area for good Chinese take out. When I first visited this place I was surprised at the good taste and quality of the food. Unfortunately, recently they’ve decided to let their daughter take people’s orders and she has the WORST attitude. She does not speak before or after taking orders and she acts like you are inconveniencing her(and she does speak English). Don’t bother telling her parents because they won’t do anything about it. In addition, they’ve become inconsistent with the quality of their food. It’s such a shame because I really wanted to go to a good takeout place in the area, oh well.

Fast service, nice family that runs this establishment, and they are training their kids well to properly run a nice facility. Delicious food served quickly.
