Staff was kind and gave us recommendations that were amazing. Calamari was delish, seaweed rolls were a new and tasty treat. We had the spicy chicken lettuce wrap and spicy seafood Udon was great… all of the little extras were top notch!

I have never eaten Korean food before and told the server. She was very helpful in walking me through the menu. The food was fantastic. The service was great. We would definitely go again when in town.

I’ve long been a fan of Springfield’s Korean food offerings, but I think Jin’s Korean Grill just might be my new favorite. I am honestly surprised to say this, since I love others in the area too… but the food at Jin’s on my first visit was just fantastic. My husband’s calamari was spicy perfection and the jaeyook beef in my bento box(along with all of the other contents) was mind-blowing in its deliciousness. This unassuming spot has a larger, nicer dining room than I expected, and service was great. For us, K-pop playing was a big plus, even though it had to compete with CNN on the TV. Large drink menu on the fireplace wall and very clear menu with lots of great choices… it made ordering difficult, only because I wanted to try everything! We were a little surprised they weren’t busier on a Saturday. Prices were extremely fair for the portion sizes and quality of food. Absolutely great place. My only negative comment is that they very seriously need to clean their restrooms. They look like they haven’t been well cleaned in literally years. Yuck. Every other tiny thing about this place was awesome though!

Stopped in for lunch and we loved it. Cool atmosphere, old brick and leaded glass, a small dining room and excellent, cheerful service. I had the bulgogi, and it was far better than Soo’s which was terribly sweet. Also had the«fire Chicken» and WOW it is friggin’ spicy as hell. Very good, but be an expert pepper-eater for this one. There was plenty of sauce on the dish, so I took half of it home and added onions, cabbage and meat to it and enjoyed it again with the heat thinned out a little. I will order it again and do the same. With meals you receive a cup of hot barley«tea», for lack of a better word, a bowl of miso soup and an assortment of tiny dishes of a few bites of Korean appetizers called«banchan». These were varied, highly flavored and delicious. Great little place.

This place is all about the food. They did an excellent job with authenticity. I haven’t been able to find Korean food this good since I was in SK. Great customer service and the food was delicious. Well done guys! Keep it up.

My new place for Asian food. Bulgogi is excellent. They add cabbage but nice addition. Meat is tender and cooked perfectly. Bento box with Katsu is m favorite. Tons of food. Tempura is well done and not greasy. Nice and light. I love the small dishes that come out with kimchi, potato, carrot, broccoli, that is prepared with wonderful spices and very fresh. Miso soup is not served hot but wasn’t stone cold. Would be better with more heat. Service is friendly and fast.

This may be my new favorite place to eat in Springfield. We had an awesome experience from the moment we walked in. Our server was very friendly, attentive and helpful. We ended up playing it pretty safe – I got the spicy«bulgogi“with chicken(the true name escapes me) and my husband got the bibimbab with beef. While the dishes stand up straight on their own we like to share and the dishes complimented each other perfectly. His was sort of sweet and subtle in flavor(not bland imo) and in contrast the spicy bulgogi really packed a punch so we enjoyed alternating between the two. I was concerned that my dish would be too spicy but it was the perfect amount of heat. I think my husband liked the bulgogi just slightly more but i couldn’t choose I thought they were both awesome.

My wife and I come here on a regular basis for most of our date nights. The servers are always very kind and they don’t interrupt your conversation. I haven’t once had an experience that is less than amazing with the food. The prices are also very reasonable. Anyone looking to branch out and try some traditional Korean food needs to come here!

Dirty. Honestly they are just dirty. Jaepche to sweet! Jjambong where is the flavor? I grabbed a salt shaker and it was coming out slow so I open the bottom… hell no. Fruit flies? Nats? I’m done. Egg rolls were expired they were kind and replaced them with an alternative but seriously … Entrance is dirty. Bugs in the shakers and just not getting the correct flavors of the dishes. Battling flies while trying to eat is super fun. While the ac is on low on the hottest day ever. It was 109 out and we were sweating like crazy in the humidity. Disappointing we won’t be back. Ever

I really like this little place. You can tell that this used to be a tiny dive-bar, most everything is still in place from those days, but they’ve really made it work. It’s cozy and even when it’s filled up retains a feeling of peace and quiet. The food is authentic and delicious, everything is great. The prices are right in line with most of the other Korean restaurants in town, and the service is always very friendly. Like I said, everything here is good, but a couple of my favorites are actually from the appetizers. The kimchi pancake is delicious and so are the potsticker type dumplings. Dumplings are my favorite, any kind, so trust me when I say these are seriously good.

Sorry Springfield but if you think this is the best Korean food around, you must have the Munchies!!! To start my miso soup was served cold, size serving was mediocre and there were flies everywhere. Not the best place in my mind. If you crave this place and think the world of it, knock yourself out. Bön Apetite…

This a STRONGTHREE Dont get me wrong, I liked my meal. I really cant give this place 4 stars because Ive been to other places that execute way better than here. For any Springfield local, this place easily gets 4 stars. For anyone else who may have ventured to other Korean fusion restaurants, its good but not fantastic. My friend and I arrived during a slow hour. We were the only people here. Our waitress was very polite and attentive. She even went to the back to ask the chef questions when she didn’t know the answer. I ordered the beef dolsot bibimbap. The dolsot refers to the fact that the bowl is heated. The waitress informed me that most people do this, so I took her recommendation. Im glad I did. The meal would have been ok without the bowl, but the continuous heat made it better. Luckily the food wasn’t piping hot, but it kept the meal consistent. All entrees come with a select variety of unlimited sides. some sides were delicious like the sauteed potato, kimchi, and seaweed, while some of the items were bland like the broccoli. I really couldnt complain, since most of them were good and unlimited. My friend ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box. From what I sampled, her meal was pretty good. The tempura and egg roll were the highlight in my opinion. The chicken was ok, and the California rolls were decent. Overall, I had a good time. It was a good meal, but I will not say it was amazing(like everyone on here). If you’re in the mood for Japanese/Korean fusion, then this place will do in Springfield.

My favorite place to eat in Springfield, and I’ve been everywhere lol. They have great food, great atmosphere, and my favorite server in town. The first time we went, it was snowing, and she offered us tea on the house. Shes always super sweet, genuine, and helpful if you’re not sure about what to order. My favorite thing is the jujubee honey tea, and tofu dolsot bibimbap, and we also always get the dumplings. Bento boxes are a good starter option if you haven’t been before, and their sides are great. We’ve been frequenting this place once a week since we found it, hidden next to a scooter shop lol.

I like this place because they used to have lunch special. It’s was nice portion and good price. Today I went back they don’t have lunch special anymore. I ordered Bibimbap the taste was just okay. Compare the price with the quality of food, food portion and taste… I would say there are other Korean food in town that’s better

When you walk in, there is a sign that says, «If you are using a coupon, you must show your server before ordering. Or else, we will not take it.» This should be a big warning sign for anyone who bought a Groupon for this place. If you use a groupon to eat here, you will be treated like absolute crap and they will ignore you. DON’T BUYTHEGROUPON! On the other hand, if you go without a groupon, they’re decently nice to you and the food is good. You’ve been warned!

First off, there were reservations for 20 when we arrived which took up 65– percent of their space. They had water and place settings ready to go. Whoever made those reservations and never showed up: shame on you for being so inconsiderate to a small restaurant doing their best to serve their customers! Not only was it rude to them who went out of their way to rearrange their space, it was rude to walk-ins who were required to sit in other areas. Miso soup: Standard. A Unilocaler said it’s the best miso soup they’ve had in a while, maybe they just hadn’t had miso soup in a long time. It’s not hard to make, restaurant or at home. Quality paste at any local Asian grocery, add water, maybe some tofu cubes and scallions and there you go. You know to worry about the rest of your meal if the miso isn’t good. Now for the Ban Chan: The potatoes were flavorful but didn’t have me going back for more. The kimchi good. Pickled turnip a bit bitter and crunchy & spicy. The broccoli did not seem traditional at all. Raw broccoli florets drizzled with a sriracha type sauce. The bean sprouts were my favorite of the bunch. Soaked in some vegetable oil and perhaps a touch of soy sauce or other similar flavoring, quite tasty. Appetizers: Calamari Tempura: Would not order again. I expect tempura to be like eating crispy tissue paper – divine and very difficult to find in the midwest where tempura is often the thickness of a cashew chicken coating. While the flavor of the batter was actually good, batter too thick and the calamari far to thin in proportion. Would you like more calamari added to your crunchy coating? Yes please. Vegetable Jeon(Korean style potato pancake) Based on another reviewer, ordered. Would not order again. It was like a cross between hash browns and mashed potatoes that tasted like egg foo young. A hair oily and a bit too mushy. Could have cooked a minute longer to crisp it up more for better texture contrast. Fairly mild and required sauce. We used the drippings left over from the ban chan offerings. Kimchi Tofu Surprisingly large for an appetizer. An entire block of tofu. A very generous portion of sliced beef, onions, kim chi, sesame seeds and more to mix with the tofu. Unfortunately the tofu itself was a bit off flavor. I’ve had plenty of tofu in my life and this was not appealing. Not sure of the source of their tofu or how it had been in storage but it tasted worse than tap water. Improve the tofu and it’s an ok dish. The meat mix was a bit sweet for my taste, but most Korean meat type dishes tend to be on the sweeter side. ENTREES: Mussel Soup Served in a steaming hot pot. Nice sized mussels. The mussels were grainy in texture meaning they were overcooked. Scallions, onion, cabbage included but so tender they dissolved in your mouth, again overcooked. I’d like to have a bit of crunch for texture diversity. The broth was rich, and far too sweetened by the overcooked vegetables. I detected a distinct finish of butter, leaving an oily finish on my palate. Not traditional. I wanted a clean seafood flavor, not muddled by butter or the sweetness of overcooked onions. Would not order again. Golden Korean Restaurant on West Sunshine has this one beat in spades, simple direct, plenty of muscles that taste like you ordered savory muscle soup with nice chewy & not grainy muscles. Mac Jook(Boston Neck w/special miso sauce) Two of us assumed beef. Perhaps it was the tiny photo of the dark brown dish on the menu. But that’s ok, we can accept a meat change. This was thinly sliced pork that was well seasoned. Most people around here would probably like it. For me the pork was dry, but I like my pork to melt in my mouth-literally. There was a thick hoisin type sauce on very thin salad greens that complimented the meat well, but it would have been so much better drizzled on the meat or in it’s own dish for dipping. Definitely worth tasting the seasoned pork and the sauce together. Would order again but would ask for the sauce to be plated in it’s own dish for dipping. Bossam(Traditional soft pork with lettuce wrap) Ordered based on another reviewer. The pork was not as tender as the previous reviewer made it out to be. While I can see where the reviewer might have«thought» it was tender, it did not melt in my mouth. I had to chew. I’ve had tender pork that literally melted in my mouth and this was not it. The goal here is to take a nappa cabbage lettuce leaf, add pork, kimchi, and sauce to you taste into the crux of the leaf, fold like a taco & eat. The crispy nappa cabbage leaves had a bitter bite that overwhelmed the rest of the flavors. The pork was cooked long enough it lost it’s inherent flavor. The best part of this dish is the garlic chili sauce which may have been the best component of the entire meal. Second favorite: the unexpected ban chan bean sprouts. Service: impeccable. Attentive but not too much. Others will like this place better than me, hence 4 over 3 stars for effort.

We went to Jin’s for my birthday lunch… While the building looks a little run down — HOLYBEJEEBUSTHEFOODISFANTASTIC! When I expressed my concern over possible animal products in the food — the server went out of his way to make sure that we knew the sides he brought us were animal free. even the kim chi is vegan! I had the vegetarian bento box, and while the tempura veggies were excellent — I sorta wish there was less fried food and maybe some more of the delicious kim chi like turnips. will i be back? as soon as possible!

I am a local restaurant owner and on my days off I really only visit and support a few other restaurants. Among them I insist the food is amazing, the staff is friendly, and the establishment be locally owned and unique. Jins is all these things! I crave their Soon Tofu and their Korean Coffee tops the Brazillian coffee I sell in my own place, which means its pretty stinking good! Plus you can’t go wrong with a reall authentic Korean restaurant that brings you all the small plates! Thanks Jin’s for being awesome and keep it up!

I used to live in Korea and can tell you that this place has the best tasting Korean food in town. For people afraid of trying something new, the beef or pork bulgogi bento box is the best option. For those who are a bit braver and want to try something really delicious, here are a few recommendations: –hot stone bibimbap(be sure to stir in the egg and red sauce thoroughly) –bokumbap(spicy sweet meat mixed with rice) –Korean BBQ ribs –bossam(boiled pork with sauces wrapped in lettuce leaves) –soon tofu(spicy savory soup) A word of advice: Korean tradition is that everyone shares all the food on the table(you can get your own little dish or bowl to put small helpings into if you’re squeamish about germs). This is really the best way to try lots of different things and make sure everyone is happy.
