Service was great and the employees were friendly. Pretty disappointed with my Denver omelet though, very thin and not enough meat and too many peppers. On top of that the prices were definitely not the best in town.

This café is the little place that time and Unilocal forgot. We moved back to lane county a couple of months ago and have been hoping to find one of those little diners with solid food, great service and an old fashioned feel. McKenzie Café is pretty great on all counts. The owners are there, taking orders and serving food. Service was speedy and they checked with us several times for refills on both coffee and soda. The interior reminds me of places I went to growing up – counter service and booths, nothing fancy, but very clean. In the food category, we liked that there were plenty of options for smaller appetites. Bacon and eggs were good, hashbrowns were ok(what kept me from 5* rating). But the biscuits… oh my! Homemade. Huge. So good with a little butter and honey. Definitely a must-try for first timers. We’ll be back to try some other dishes. Hours are limited — Wed to Sun, 7 – 2 — so plan accordingly.

The food is SOGOOD, I loved the veggie omelette. Our waitress was amazing with my girls, went above and beyond to make our expierance lovely. They provided actual sippy cups for the kids, not the cheap plastic things that have the lid pop off and spill everywhere, and installed the hanging babychair for us.

After reading all of the positive reviews, we decided to give this place a try. We won’t be coming back. It was expensive food that did not taste good. I got the $ 10 French toast plate, and got 2 small pieces of cinnamon French toast, 2 sausage links, and 2 eggs. Super small portions! The sausage was way too greasy, and I’m usually ok with some grease. And the French toast had a really funny taste to it. Didn’t like it at all, and I LOVE French toast. So disappointing. My husband got potatoes, bacon, eggs and toast. The bacon was the best part. The rest was ok; the toast was burned. Overall, a disappoint. You can get much better tasting food at better prices at other restaurants the area. On the upside, they had really great service. Everyone was super friendly! If only the food was better.

I had the house omelet and it was DELICIOUS and healthy. The owners are the servers, so you know you’ll be well taken care of! Good coffee too.

Portions were ok. Food was good not exceptional. Bacon and eggs came with only one piece of toast. They have jehova witness literature laying around which I thought was odd. The owners serve you and they seem like nice people.

I stopped by today because I saw Medi & Isabelle painting. They are giving the place a new look and a new sign. Grand reopening Saturday, July 5. They serve one of the best breakfast in all of Lane County. Try the biscuits and gravy!

Staff was awesome. Food was very good. surroundings… really? lol. This place looks like you walked into snow whites grandmas house. Like something straight from Disney. LOTS of pink and LOTS going on… kinda cramped almost. But I would defiantly go back.

When you are hungry, looking for good food at a value price and great service, you are looking for McKenzie Café in Springfield, OR. But don’t try to get seated after 2PM or on Monday or Tuesday. This little gem gastronomic perfection is only open for breakfast and lunch Wednesday to Sunday from 7AM until 2PM. The co-owners Isabel and Meddi have been operating this oasis of early morning culinary Americana for over twenty years. Both of the co-owners are trained chefs and have worked many years perfecting their recipes and the fun plating. The Chef owners have taken over the front of the house. Your order will be served by the owners along with a warm welcome and cheerful start to you day. The coffee is plentiful. This is a small friendly place with a high table turnover, and many loyal friends return like the salmon on the McKenzie River going home for a great meal. You will not find out sized overstuffed meals here, you will find right sized meals served fresh and hot with great flavor from a menu that does not go out of its way to confuse you with too many choices. I love the omelets and the ability to leave the carbs in the kitchen and have sliced tomato and cottage cheese instead. But then again they have the best tempura veg in the area and the home fries and hash browns are first rate.

Everything I eat here is great! Like another review said, the owners remember you and are glad you are stopping by! Staff is so friendly. Last time I had crepes with the fresh picked berries, they were excellent. The veggie omelet is my favorite and they have some of the best chicken fried steak around. Their food is REAL food, not that microwaved crap you get from IHOP or Denny’s. Love this place!

Love it. Food’s great, service is great. Owners remember you and are genuinely glad to see you. The place is almost always packed but I’ve never had to wait in a line like some other breakfast places in town.
