It’s always packed with people. It’s a much better alternative to the corporate coffee chains around campus *cough* Starschmucks *cough* The food is pretty good for the price, too!

If you’re around campus and looking for a quick good lunch, get yourself to Barry’s! Everyone working there is always friendly, the food is delicious and fairly cheap. Not much space in terms of seating but it usually isn’t too much of a problem. They also have outdoor seating.

This is honestly one of my favorite little cafes I have ever found. Barry’s has nailed everything from pastries, to coffee cake, to the best challah bread around. So fresh and so good. It’s my absolute favorite. They serve breakfast sandwiches all day long, and the lunch sandwiches are quite literally the size of my whole hand outstretched. Coffee is pretty good too! I usually get a hazelnut latte with an extra shot of espresso. I love this place, and the egg sandwiches are always on point. Definitely would recommend this as the best café near campus.

I’ve now been here multiple times. The food is fresh and delicious every time. The soups, the salads, the sandwiches. the baked goods. All wonderful!

Great food, love their soups. 3 stars instead of 5 because your order is wrong at least half of the time. Same goes for the other location.

SLOW service for a so-so sandwich. I would not consider 1:30 a very busy time but it took over 25 minutes for a half sandwich to-go. Not to mention the 4 employees that didn’t acknowledge me for five minutes while I was standing at the register ready to order…

Some of the best sandwiches in town. So big that you’ll have a half sandwich leftover and a dislocated jaw. Soups are also fantastic, the half sandwich and soup is a great deal. Everything always tastes and smells so fresh and the restaurant itself is cozy for working on whatever between classes. I have yet to explore their breakfast offerings but I’ve only heard good things.

these guys… oh man. this review is just for the service. its past 2pm on a Monday and I’m the only one in line. three young employees were in sight. none of them at the register and none of them actually working. I was going to plop down 6 dollars for a HALF a Reuben… no one attempts to serve me or acknowledge my presence. I wait… move closer to the counter and peek over it. maybe they had genuienly not seen or heard me… nope. still no one cares that I want to overpay for a sandwich. I’ll eat somewhere else that doesn’t treat you like they don’t need you. I won’t be ignored, Dan.

Barrys oh how good you are. I eat here all the time and you can not go wrong with any sandwhich on the menu. The soup is delightful and make sure to wash it down with one of their amazing cookies.

Barry’s is a Eugene classic. This may be a newer location than the one down south, but the sandwiches are just as good, and it does lunch right. The hallmark of Barry’s is their fresh-baked bread. It’s sliced home-style, in giant slices. This isn’t any sort of gourmet fancy seed bread or anything — more along the lines of that classic challah that your grandma would bake. Can I get a challah back? As far as I’m concerned, no matter what you put on thick, spongy slices of challah, it’s good. But if you want a recommendation, I love their egg salad on challah, and I recently had a BLT with both cream cheese and mayo, with thick cut bacon, and it was straight up delicious. They have espresso(never tried it), bakery goods in a case(not anything bougie, just classics) and other items like soup(matzoh ball, anyone?). But really what you’re coming here for is a sando on some tasty bread. Not too dry, not too dense, not too spongy — just right. And the price is right too.

Just went there today for some breakfast. A bit pricey for a simple breakfast sandwich, still it was good, and served on some really yummy challah bread. The location is a bit small. You can’t really blame them, considering its a prime location on the University campus. Of course it’s going to be a bit packed. You really want to hit it during their off times between their rushes. I intend to go back. My grandmother has a favorite Jewish Deli in California that makes amazing Matzaball soup, I’ve never had it. So far Barry’s is the only place I’ve come across that makes it. So I’ll be giving that a try.

Best coffee on campus. That’s their strong point. Soup is great on a cold day. Their sandwiches aren’t the best(too expensive for not enough stuff). But their baked goods are great! It’s also the only friendly, comfy café atmosphere around that isn’t marketing to sell you a orange mocha frappucinno. The employees are very friendly, and their wifi is fast! Did I mention they have the best coffee on campus(possibly in town)?
