Mimi’s Hong Kong Inn

Another example of Springfield’s hometown hero HKI. Nothing that will blow diners away but solid Springfield style Chinese with prices that leave your pocket book happy.
Place kept fairly clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.

This is my favorite Chinese place in Springfield! I always stop here when I come home. I love the crab Rangoon and cashew chicken. Best Rangoon in the area!

TL;DR — Great food, low prices, good portions. Recommend drive through more than dine-​in only because of sub-​par service.

Me and my wife used to live across town on Sunshine and would always order our Chinese food from Chinese Chef on Enterprise, which we thought was pretty good. I also used to work at Chase, and would frequently stop in at China King on National/​Republic, which I thought was a bit better. We’ve since moved near this restaurant and thought we’d try it out since it was so close, and we were NOT disappointed.
They have all the standard Springfield Chinese fare and the food has always tasted fresh. The Crab Rangoon is sub-​par, which is a shame, but all the entrees we’ve tried so far have been excellent. The prices are lower than average, especially for the portion size. The drive through is quick, and the inside is nice, clean and spacious.
The only thing keeping this from 5-​stars is the lack of service when dining in. The waitresses we’ve had have always been very friendly, but they just bring you your food and drinks and then you’re pretty much on your own until they bring you the check. The staff tends to stay behind the counter, and if you need anything you have to walk back to the counter to ask for anything.
