While on a road trip we traveled through Springfield, MO and stopped at the Mudhouse. The staff is super nice and the Americano was thick, rich and delicious. The atmosphere is very relaxing and welcoming.

The atmosphere is great. Design and artwork are authentically pleasing to the eye. Not too loud, not too quiet. We only tried the coffee which was alright. We came an hour and a half before close, the coffee wasn’t hot, and the creamer was out which was kind of a bummer. The guy behind the counter had a cool beard and was helpful. Overall a pretty chillin place. 4 stars

This place is way better than starf**ked but the coffee isn’t the best IMO. Had some pretty good instant oatmeal though. I also enjoyed the mellow chill vibes at the Mudhouse.

I love this place! I used to come here during my college days, but now try to come back every time I’m in town. The espresso drinks are great, but the peanut butter puddle is what keeps me coming back. The baristas are always friendly and consistently make delicious beverages! So good!

Mud House… The employees hate life every time I go in there. It is like quiet time in that place, because everyone is studying and I just had four shots of espresso, that the barista just complained about making… I paid for a dessert I did not receive, but I did not want to have to confront the angry employees about my food… GOODDAYGOODGRIEF

I come most mornings just after the door opens. Their drinks are the best you could wish for and their pastries are good(particularly fresh out of the oven) but I’m not a huge fan of their food. Their staff is also very polite and kind.

Lovely little Springfield coffeehouse, perfect for the area’s college crowd. It’s spacious enough for studiers to spread out with their laptops, tablets, books, have a group discussion or sit solo and enjoy a hot cup of Joe with your freshly prepared lunch. I opted for the ½ Veggie Love, no cream cheese of course & Mud Moka shake-like smoothie. The Veggie Love came loaded with fresh greens, mushroom, tomato, roasted red peppers, red onion and a light sun dried tomato dressing all stuffed inside a spinach wrap. My Mud Moka was a dark chocolatey conception of coffee, cinnamon, peanut butter, almond milk, banana and other tasty ingredients I can’t recall. Just know it was heavenly. My dinning partner chose the ½ Cranberry Turkey sandwich ½ Greek Freak salad both of which he absolutely loved. The service was very friendly and hospitable, the café was nice, clean and well organized. They offer a plethora of bulk teas along with free wifi, calendars, great artwork, unique furniture pieces, pastries, cold brew filling station and more. Give it a whirl, ~Christy

My friends all adore this place but when I got my first and only coffee I’ve ever gotten there so far it wasn’t good. I’ve tried my friends drinks and they’re usually much better so I will definitely be going back to try and find a drink I can work with. I love the place and how cute it is, I’d love to go and hang out but there’s never any sitting space when I’m there, must be because it’s so popular but we usually just go sit at the square.

I usually don’t get latte’s, but when I do, they better be wholesome. I purchased a Caramel Latte from Mudhouse. Perhaps not a purist’s drink, but a good Latte involves much skill. I could immediately tell that the drink was made with whole and wholesome milk. It was CREAMY. The caramel sauce is made in-house and was smooth. I felt like I was drinking a velvety cloud. The foam was not overwhelming either though. The sweetness was very mild without the harsh bite that Starbucks Caramel Lattes have. As of now, this is the second best Caramel Latte(behind Prevail Union in Auburn, AL) I have ever tasted. If I could make one suggestion in this drink: It needs a little more of a coffee bite. I am not sure if a slightly darker roast or more espresso would do, but I felt like the coffee’s flavour was lost in mix. Mudhouse also offers fast, free wifi, plenty of seating, and energetic and hip atmosphere. For a midwestern town in SW Missouri, the clientele was very diverse and refreshing! The staff is friendly and even bring your drink out to you. If you need a place to drink good coffee, have deep conversations, I will highly recommend Mudhouse.

This place is so great. The espresso drinks are good, there are a ton of teas to choose from, and the food is always great. The atmosphere is perfect for catching up with friends over coffee or holding a study group, or even sitting and working on something by yourself. Always happy to come here!

Average coffee. Incredibly slow moving staff. Cashier was high as a kite, barista disorganized and sloppy. Entire visit took 45 minutes, for a simple spiced latte to go. Update: and he screwed up the drink, used whole milk instead of soy.

Best coffee shop I have ever been to! I love how many varieties they have of hot/iced/and frozen coffee, along with smoothies. They also seek baked goods, a variety of teas, and have sandwiches soups and salads! My favorite drinks there are the White Chocolate Mocha, Tiger Spiced Chai, the Mudd Puddle, their«death by chocolate» muffin, and their Greek salad! This is ALWAYS my go to coffee shop when I’m in Springfield! I’ve been there dozensss of times! And I love the location!!! :) the staff is Amaya’s super friendly as well! :) You must try!!!

If you haven’t been down town(near the square) lately, you’ll be in for a massive shock when you go. The whole place is now swarming with activity, both day and night. One of the restaurants that’s made its way to the area is the Mudhouse. It’s actually a coffee house, but they do serve a small menu of salads, sandwiches and soups. The coffee is… okay. I actually feel the coffee is far too strong. I love good coffee, but when the place calls itself mudhouse, you should probably be prepared for a very acrid experience. They offer different coffees every day, and generally have 3 regular(with caffeine), and one decaf option. They also have tea. I’ve been to the Mudhouse many times now with a friend, and with its location, it’s become a trendy place for students to come in and study. We’ve laughed a few times because so many people were plugging in their Apple laptops, they were overloading the wiring, and caused an overload. The store also sells a few sweets, including cookies and muffins, but I’ve only ever tried a cookie there once. The place is a tad pricey, so if you are going to go in for coffee, be sure to do so when you can spend a while, and purchase a bottomless cup.

Love the name of this shop and the coffee offerings even better! My first try here and got a white mocha iced coffee. It was TERRIFIC! They always are when you use Ghirardelli chocolate! This seems to be a very popular spot — lots of people chatting and living off the wifi at the back of the shop. For me, I’d return in a heartbeat! Recommend: VERYHIGH

One of my favorite local spots in town. Try any of their frozen drinks and you won’t be disappointed. My personal favorite is the Elvis! Comfortable atmosphere, nice workers, good coffee, yummy snacks.

Possibly the best tasting coffee in springfield and I have tried almost every coffee place in springfield. The only downfall is the food items. Honestly the menu items aren’t very tasty, memorable, and are heavily overpriced. Other then that, Mudhouse is great!

It’s 10pm you don’t want ice cream but you want SOMETHING cold and sweet and delish. So you go to Mudhouse and get a frozen coffee drink. Enough said. You do at times have to listen to loud young Christians shouting excitedly about their latest Biblical escapades, but it’s a small price to pay. That said, stay away from the regular coffee. It is so-so. Better places for the good stuff. But sweet and icey goodness is what Mudhouse is best at.

This is a great little coffee house that roasts its own coffee and does a great job. There is plenty of good seating, great staff and wonderful brews. I’m not in Springfield very often, but this will be a place I visit whenever I come here in the future!

There are three main things I look for in a good coffee shop. It’s obviously got to have great coffee. It’s got to have wifi and be open late. Last but not least, it has to have good staff and the place has to have a good vibe for lack of a better term. How does Mudhouse rate on all of these? Well starting with the coffee, they roast their own beans in several different varieties from various sources from South America and Africa. You have the options of pour over, french press, or traditional brewed coffee. If you’re like me and tend to camp out at the coffee house, I opt for the budget-friendly unlimited cup which gets you unlimited refills from a selection of coffee brews set out in self-serve dispensers. If you bring your own mug, you’ll save a few cents more. If cappuccino, frappuccino, or smoothies are your thing, they have plenty of choices to choose from. They also have 72 varieties of tea, which should make Uncle Iroh happy. An added bonus is their food selection, which is focused on soups, salads, and sandwiches all of excellent quality. The hours are fairly convenient for me, but if they were open 24⁄7 I’d have a hard time leaving. The wi-fi is fast and I’ve never had any problems connecting to it, even with an older PowerBook Mac(pre-intel). The vibe is very friendly and relaxed drawing a mix of college students, professionals, teens, as well as older adults. The staff is friendly and helpful and will go above and beyond the call of duty. Just now, I’d spilled all of the food that I had just ordered all over the floor and they offered to replace everything at no charge even though it was my fault. Kudos to the great staff!

I am very particular about my coffee. And when I say coffee, I mean lattes. This review is based on lattes only as I am not a plain coffee drinker and wouldn’t know a good cup of black coffee even if it was clearly labeled in bold italic font as the«World’s BEST Coffee, I SWEAR.» No, I’m a latte drinker and I prefer it sweet. Not sickly sweet, but something under that but above bitter. Have I confused anybody? My husband and I stopped in for a latte to enjoy on our drivie home(we live an hour away). They have a small menu of specialty drinks, so I chose a Mud Turtle which was a chocolate and caramel latte. At first taste, it was very mild, almost too mild like just steamed milk. I added a packet of raw sugar, gave it a big stir, and took a sip. Perfect! Not bitter, not overly sweet. Great balance. I was very happy. Hubs got a mocha latte, and he was pleased as well. And yes, he is just as picky as me. For whatever reason, a lot of the coffee shops don’t stir the drinks after they pump flavorings in. The thicker syrups fall right to the bottom of the cup and stay there. So if I ever get one that doesn’t taste quite right, stirring it up usually fixes it.(Tip alert!) Since we don’t live in Springfield, we don’t come to Mudhouse often. I know we’ve been here one other time like 2 years ago. And on our next visit(hopefully sooner than 2 years) we will come back to Mudhouse knowing a good latte will be waiting.
