I only go here to hear the bands and do some dancing. They get some great gigs there, but the dance floor is tiny and last time we were there, it was so sticky it ruined my shoes. Since there are comparable drinks and cleaner floors elsewhere, I will probably not be back.

The first couple hours of my experience was here was great. My experience was ruined when a so called«regular» chose to mock my table of friends and started violently cursing at us when we asked him to stop. Not to mention, he started throwing ice at us. When we asked the staff for help, they chose to handle the situation by throwing our group out. Then we were told the police would be called on us for trespassing if we didn’t leave. We chose this establishment to celebrate our friends 21st birthday and it was completely ruined. Later, the birthday girl was thrown out when the«regular» started violently cursing her out too. If those are the types of regulars the staff wants at this place, I will never bring my business there again. This was the worst experience I’ve had at a bar in the 4 years that I’ve lived in Springfield. I’ve worked in the service industry for many years and would have NEVER treated my customers like that. I called to make the manager aware of this matter and the response I got was less than satisfactory. I was told the situation was being«handled». What that means, I have no idea but I hope this review helps.

The staff was completely unprofessional. The bartender wasn’t able to make a Tom Collins(give me a break). Secondly an explosive regular was in attendance during my visit, after he pelted my table with ice and slandered several of my friends by using a few expletives I will not mention(but women find this one particularly offensive). My party and I were forced to leave after we made a formal complaint with the incompetent bartender. While waiting outside for one member of our party the hostess approached us to inform us we would have the police called on us for trespassing.

The best place to meet your future wife! I have NEVER met a staff member I didn’t like here. The crowd out front of Patton knows how to include just about everyone. Best damn happy hour in town on craft beer and if you want to while-a-way a Sunday when HH zips along ALLDAY! On its menu… it’s all good and very hearty. Two nights of trivia(and NOT the lame-o, bonehead variety either), a pretty decent rotation of live music makes Patton a mainstay in downtown Springpatch.

The regular bar fare… only ½ price! This place is sooo accomodating and full of options! If you have a serious craving for beer and fried ANYTHING… be prepared. Love the beer cheese fondue!

Lots of great reviews about this place but I don’t get it. It’s clean and has a good selection of draft beers but the cover charge is a little high and bartender service is TERRIBLE. I would much rather go to SBC or Scotch and Soda.

We were in town for a short stay and dropped into this bar for some quick lunch. Great selection of local beers and the bartender was nice enough to narrow down our choices and find a beer that would go with our tastes. Server was friendly and timely. I took away a star for food because they advertise themselves as(new) American food but all I saw was just a normal menu with a Gyro. Guess that counts as New American in the midwest? Otherwise a good place for burgers and beer.

Alright I need to get this off my chest before I dive into my great experience at Patton Alley Pub: I LOVE that the pub is open 7 days a week, normal business hours. It can be hard to find a place to eat in the Midwest on a Sunday — a situation I found myself in when I found this gem. Now to the restaurant: The food — great. I had the gyro which was tender and flavorful. My boyfriend stole more than a couple bites! We devoured the well-seasoned waffle fries. The portions are generous so come with an empty stomach! The service — no complaints as we were not in a particular hurry. On a Sunday, which seemed slow, there was just one waitress. With that being said, she was knowledgable on the craft beers, friendly and apologetic for the time between her visits to our table. The ambience — the best part! It’s everything a live music-loving hipster would dream of. When I make my way to Springfield, MO again, I’ll definitely be stopping by.

Went on New Years to hear Mark Bilyeu-Cindy Woolf Band. The food was good and so was the beer. The toilets are gross but everyone knows that and I’ve seen worse. We had to leave after the first set due to an annoyingly muddy sound system. It was louder than it needed to be and I still couldn’t hear instrumental solos due to the muffled sound. When Mark talked to the crowd it was loud but I couldn’t understand what he was saying half the time. I thought maybe it was where I was sitting in front of the stage so I stood next to the mixing board and it sounded muddy there too. Just thought I’d let you know.

Patton is in a great location. Super close to all of my favorite spots. Hands down, Patton is my first pick when we’re talking about going out. FANTASTIC beer selection, great servers and bartenders, and always finding an awesome friend to hang with. I pretty much only go during happy hour(All day SUNDAY& Monday-Saturday 2−6pm). You really can’t beat ½ price apps & beer. My favorite happy hour specials include: Mother’s beer, some sort of well drink(doubles for the price of one) if it’s been a rough day, beer cheese fondizzle dip w/waffle fries, fried mushrooms, parm boneless chicken wings w/pizza sauce, and sooooo much more. My preferred server is Anna(the petite one with the cute hair). She will always put a smile on my face, no matter the day. Side note… Message to Sara P.: Not sure if you’ve ever been a server, but I have been. It’s a challenging job, full of juggling a bunch of things at once. I’m sorry it took a while for you to get your drinks. However, can you factor in the HUGE Sunday crowd Patton attracts and how swamped those servers are? Also, it’s a bar. The bar is known for their beer. Maybe have in mind what you want to order before you go in? That helps everything run smooth for us when we know the place will be busy.

Our Sunday hockey group has been coming in for years. It’s getting worse and worse. Our table of 6 placed food/bev orders together. Drinks came sporadically. The waitress was either magic or disinterested as she disappeared for extended periods. Maybe she was waiting on the entire bar, including the trivia crowd? Two more joined our group 15 minutes later, ordered drinks and food and received theirs at least 10 before we did! My salad was pretty darn good-good thing it’s supposed to be served cold because my friends burger was cold with a rock hard bun. When it was time to go, a few paid in cash hoping to settle up and get home quicker than a cc transaction. Nope, he had to go hunt down the waitress. The smoking huddle outside the front door is atrocious! And the bouncer kept the door open do we could share in all the smoke. The tables are disgustingly sticky and menus are filthy. Great beer selection on tap! A bar closer to the rink with better food and a good staff is matching your half price specials for us. We were alternating weeks but I hope never to walk through Patton Alley’s doors again unless something improves.

Love this bar… They’ve undergone a few changes in the last two years in terms of beer selections, what they bring in and sell. It appears they’re getting less adventurous. However, I’m still a huge fan. Their happy hour is great(wish it was one hour longer at dinner), and many a Sunday has been spent here due to the all day happy hour. If you’re looking for quick service, sorry, but it’s not always there. Especially if they’re busy. So make sure to order that second drink a little earlier and settle in. The staff has been there for years. That’s huge for me. I love coming in and seeing the same people. I love that eventually they do take the time to remember you. It is full of younger people and hipsters. I am decidedly not one. However, I never felt out of place and frankly, their styles are fun to watch. Go there. It’s worth it.

After the Owner’s attempt to buy me dinner to raise my review. I decided to give a real honest one. Upon entry I sat at the east end of the bar where I waited 10 minutes before a bar tender greeted me. Even though it was hardly busy. Maybe 7 or 8 other’s at the bar. This was about 6pm; I also asked for a menu. 10 minutes later I was given my can of beer«even though the cooler was 10 feet away» and placed my order. 45 minutes later my food arrived. Next to me sat a man drinking Miller light, «one ended up on my tab» and a volley of people started to crowd the entrance to the stage area behind me. All of them puffing e-cigs which was fine, it was the bumping into me that was annoying. Around 9pm a doorman came to collect the cover. I explained I had been there since 6, and wasn’t going to stay all night. He said if I wanted to stay I needed to pay. Even though I watched him put arm band’s on a group of girls who didn’t pay. Lucky for me I know lot’s of people, and a person in the band listed me. Not once did I enter the band room. Throughout the hour’s I was there I ordered 5 can beer’s most of them took 15 – 20 minutes to get to me even though there was now 3 tenders working. I asked for a shot of MO spirit house bourbon, and no one had heard of it. «Way to be local» before leaving I used one of the most disgusting bathrooms I’ve ever seen. With one stall, one urinal, one sink, and no soap. For a venue that size with those prices it needs some renovation. At 11pm I decided to leave. Blocking my way were a few dozen smoker’s. I didn’t know if I was exiting, or standing in line for a new venue. There are outside seats to the left, and right, but everyone was gathered directly in front of the entrance. «Which I think is illegal.» If you like overpriced drinks, Bar food, and shotty service. Then this is the place for you. This is one hipster/college bar I most likely will not go to again. And the only reason I gave it 3 star’s is because the owner actually tried to contact me, and offer a free meal for my issues. Also here’s an idea; post what the cover will be at each venue, and tell early patrons there will be a cover later. This was the biggest complaint; because there is nothing worse than spending $ 40. Then someone telling you it’s another $ 10 to stay…

Here’s what i think. The food was great. I had fish and chips and it was great. The Beer Cheese Fondue is truly the best. We had it with fries, but I think it would be better with bread. We went the same night as a «concert» in the back half of the restaurant. the concert was great. What wasn’t great were the 3 Rude drunk women who tried to talk over the music like their conversation was worth crap. If you want to drink at a restaurant, fine, if you want to do it and make a jackass of yourself fine, but be considerate of others who came to hear the music, not your nasty ass, high pitched, drunken voice. If I were to give a negative is that i really think its pretty pricy. my fish and chips were 10.00 and it was only 2 pieces with fries. Will I go back? yes, Will I go back and listen to a band or such? No. just because of the idiots at the bar. I can only imagine what it would be like on a Trivia night. probaly not going to go.

My favorite bar! :) they have sooooo many craft beers on tap from local breweries, craft beers from elsewhere, and your staples(you know yellow water like bud light etc…).I generally go during happy hour which is all day Sunday and Monday-Saturday 2−6pm(½ price apps and beer). The staff is always friendly. There is also seating outside which can get very packed on a nice day and also parking right next to the building which is usually $ 5 but most often during the weekdays they dont enforce the parking fees if you’re lucky! Fun bar to hang out at if your looking for a chill spot for a good hoppy beer.

Never tried the food, but they have one of the best beer selections in town and plenty of room, including a patio area. Consistent live music on the weekends(sometimes on weekdays). Some of the best local acts and decent bands from afar. And they have cheap drinks and trivia on Sundays.

You guys, this place makes me kinda love Springfield. I was in town for an interview and after spending most of my free time driving to and from Kansas City to see a friend, I was only left with half of a day to get a feel for Springfield. I was hoping to hit up Mother’s Brewery as beer tasting is definitely on my short list of favorite activities, but then I realized I also really wanted something to eat before heading to the airport and being subjected to terrible airport food. I was super excited when I discovered that this place has beer from Mother’s ANDHH starting at 2pm — I could try the local brewery and eat! Hooray! I came in a few minutes after 2 and there was only one other person at the bar. I had a seat, asked for a beer suggestion and settled in to look over the menu and drink my beer. The bartender was just-right friendly. I’m the nerd who sits at the bar with a book, so I obviously just wanted to drink my beer, eat my food and chill out and she was in no way bothersome, but when I asked her questions about the area and things to do she was super helpful and friendly — just what I expect from an awesome mid-west bar. I ended up ordering two appetizers(for variety!) and getting 3 beers(all from breweries I’d never heard of — this delights me!) and all said it was $ 17. Dude. SOCHEAP. Someone else said in their review that this bar would fit right in the PNW(Seattle/Portland) and I completely agree — so does the hipster, flannel wearing moose on the cover of their menu — but it is better than the PNW because you gte no weird passive aggressive attitudes, it’s the friendly mid-west!

This review is for PAP’s Trivia Binge. I’ve been going to Sunday’s Trivia Binge infrequently for about a year now, and I always have a pretty great time. The hosts are fun and light-hearted, and they lead a toast before trivia starts and during intermission. If you’ve never been to Trivia Binge before, prepare to be challenged because it’s not entirely uncommon to get through a round with only 3 or 4 questions you know the answer to. Also, most of the questions are pretty off-the-wall or nerdy(and I mean that in no way offensively!). My friends and I always go in with the mindset to at least have 1 perfect round during the night – we usually fail. There aren’t too many tactics to suggest. Sometimes there are current events, sometimes there is pop culture. If you’re putting together a dream team, these are the 6 people you need: someone who knows sports, someone who knows music, someone who knows science, someone who has been listening to a lot of NPR the past two weeks; someone who knows pop culture; and someone who seriously knows the most random facts imaginable. What you need to know: — Trivia Binge is free. — Trivia Binge starts at 7:30, but get there by at LEAST7:00 because it fills up fast. — There are 6 rounds with 10 questions each; the 3rd round is always played differently(changes every week), and the 4th round is always a themed round. — Trivia takes place in the back room. — No more than 6 people per team(they’re pretty strict about this). — No cell phones allowed(for pretty obvious reasons). — There aren’t really any major prizes. Bonus: Sunday is Happy Hour all day long, so appetizers are half off.

If you’re looking for craft beer on tap, this is the place to be. They have a broad variety, the best I’ve seen in Springfield. Their onion rings are incredible. The place is pretty big and has live music often on Friday and Saturday nights. Happy hour all day on Sunday! Downsides: can get pretty loud and clientele can be a bit trashy. Sunday night trivia’a volume can get out of hand sometimes.

We stopped in for happy hour for some beers and appetizers. The Beer selection was awesome. Apps were ½ price so we tried several. The wings were ok. Kind of overcooked and dry, not much buff sauce on them. Not the best ever, but good for the price. We also got an order of fried okra and an order of fried jalapeños. These were both cut in very small pieces, pieces about the size of a nickel but a quarter inch thick. They were fried and there wasn’t much flavor to the batter. Wouldn’t order again. The fried mushrooms were large, about 3 inches diameter. Again, nothing but the batter, so not much flavor.
