They don’t have Sonic in my home town of Ventura, CA or anywhere nearby for that matter. They do, however, show constant commercials on TV that made me crave the various shakes and drinks. My husband and I have visited our local Springfield Sonic twice since our recent move. We’ve tried hot dogs, mozzarella sticks, jalapeño poppers, cherry limeade, the coconut cream pie shake, and the peanut butter oreo shake. My husband’s exact words were«The peanut butter oreo shake was f@$%ing amazing!» BIG fans so far!

Sonic is a very underrated fast food/drive-in place to eat at. All their drinks are very satisfying, depending if you mix the right flavors together, the food is surprisingly terrific, but jut a tad big pricey. Their drinks are a steal. The x-large is about $ 2.50 and all drinks are half off during happy hour. All the food is amazing, but I highly recommend the double cheeseburger and for drinks I recommend the cherry limeade.

Fast food but with a twist of the 50’s. I’ve often wondered why Burger King and McDonald’s never got into the hot dog side of fast food. I think Sonic is an answer for me. Here you can order burgers AND dogs and about a million different drinks from catagories like cream slushes, java chillers, old school floats, tangy refreshers called Ocean Water, and real fruit slushes. What’s up Micky D’s and Burger King – why not diversify once in awhile? So Sonic fills a niche – that’s capitalism for all you red-neck commies!! — err, oh sorry… that’s part of a political review… it has nothing to do with this here… ahem. I, ah, ordered a real fruit slush called lemonade-berry. Wow, really fruity and not sickening sweet like a sweetened tea from McDonald’s. That’s like drinking a bottle of Karo corn syrup! I realize McDonald’s has a berry drink too, but Sonic cut up half a lemon and spooned in two tablespoons of cut up strawberry scrumpciousness into my Lemonaide-Berry Slushie cup. Think you’ll see that at the other places in the bottom of your cup? Nope, and no lemon seeds! Details, details make the difference. Sonic has many different flavored drinks,( ), from watermelon to coconut to cranberry. Tasty and refreshing on this warm day. Now go to the nearest time machine in your neighborhood… I mean Sonic, and treat yourself… go on!
