I’ve eaten at the Corner Pub twice, and had great experiences both times. The first time we just had drinks and some snacks. The bartenders were friendly as can be, and the food and drinks all came quickly and everything was good. The second time I came with my family, 10 of us, including three kids. The servers were fast, friendly, and got everything right. Our server also made some very good recommendations, including telling us that we ordered too much food! I always respect when they are honest and don’t try to oversell you! Smart business model folks, I’ll be a returning customer. As for the food, keep in mind that it is a BAR. I am not expecting 5-star french cuisine, but the things they do, they do well. The horseshoes are delicious… dare I say… as good as that other Springfield standard. We tried the horseshoe pizza. It is very filling, to say the least. I still prefer the classic horseshoe… I think the fries get too soggy on the pizza, but everyone else really enjoyed it, so I’m in the minority. This is a great spot to watch a game, have a quick and filling family lunch, or just get some drinks and wings. Enjoy.

Good bar food. Try the Pile Grinder if you have a big appetite. Service is usually very good. Some people go there just for the bar so the later you go the more noisy & crowded it is. Being from Chicago I am a huge pizza snob but that being said, their pizza is ok.

You’d have to be drunk to like the food here, sliders on cold buns? Waffle fries are good. Our server was also good, but when I go out to eat, the food should be the star.

1st time here and delightfully surprised. Shepherds Pie is very good. Service was wonderful and accommodating. Also had the Caribbean salad and it was just ok. Everything was fresh. It was just a weird combo of blue cheese bacon mandarin oranges and dried cranberries with a nice dressing. Needs a salty chicken or crispy chips Allison did a superb job.

Last night tried white chilli good flavor but too many beans. Too many places make chilli like bean soup. Also had a pot roast panini could have better if it had more meat. I had asked if shepherd pie had real mashed potatoes never heard back so I thought I should chose something else on the menu. I am not much on sports bars’ atmospheres, but good selection of beers/drafts.

The food is good. Always have good service. The buffalo pony shoe pizza is a good choice. It is a loud type bar atmosphere. But if you don’t mind that. This is a must to try if you are in the area.

Been here more times than I can count but you just lost me. Came in today for lunch, the 3 of us were seated. Waited for 15 minutes no drinks not even a word from our waitress that went to every table around us. Needless to say we left and won’t be coming back.

Just so-so, nothing tremendously special. The food was okay. The horseshoe pizza was pretty good. The waitress called me babe more than my husband has in 13 years and she could’ve been my daughter. There was a guy sitting next to us that was laughing so hard it was a disturbance to the whole place. It’s just okay but nothing I’m going out of my way for.

Great pork tenderloin with a delicious garlic onion aioli. Also French onion soup is yummy with lots of depth in flavor. Highly recommended.

This is a typical bar that serves food for me. The noise level was a bit higher than other pubs I’ve been to. I suppose it depends on what time you go for noise level. The food was delicious. The one thing I did not like was the feeling of being rushed out. The waitress was very short and almost snippy with delivery of our check as if to say ‘hey time to go I’m ready for my tip’. Otherwise I had a good experience here. I can see myself going back for drinks but maybe not for a quiet sit down meal due to noise level.

From out of town and in Springfield for a few weeks. Having sampled many of the bars around, I really liked the Corner. Great food and excellent service. Prices seemed reasonable. Not a lot of beers on tap but a decent bottle selection. TVs could be better. I’ll definitely return again.

Good food and cold beer in a good location. TV layout could be better — too high up in some places. Food: horseshoe is pretty good. Horseshoe pizza is excellent. Wraps pretty decent if you get the right cook. Pizza is good too. Can get pretty noisy but they have outdoor patio seating which helps. Service is usually pretty good here. Good place to visit once in awhile.

First time stopping in Springfield, and my friend suggested here to eat for lunch, I would not say this is anything special. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap that did not have much inside of the wrap. Pretty basic bar food I would say. If you are looking for a sports bar to watch the game, it would probably be good for that. Ther is a great beer selection to choose from. Free WiFi is cool. There is also a nice patio to sit outside on a warm day.

I’m not from Springfield so I’m not sure if this carries any weight, but I have had the ‘shoes at Darcy’s, Norb Andys, Dublin Pub, and maybe one or two other places and I think Corner Pub has the best fries! Best Horseshoe I think goes to Norb Andy’s because I loved their cheese sauce which makes the horseshoe to me, but if spuds are your deciding factor then Corner Pub has the Shoe for you. Also the Italian beef is good, pizza is pretty good, and really my family members nor myself has ever had anything bad when we go here. They also have decent beer selection and usually a decent special or two.

Corner Pub is alright. Falls somewhere between Dublin and D’arcy’s. Same kind of atmosphere, same kind of menu. Corner Pub gets points for originality. Horseshoe pizza? So weird, but actually pretty good! Sometimes the fries on the pizza are totally inedible from being burnt, but it still works. Fries are not my favorite. Every time I’ve gone it’s just a plate of broken bagglers. I don’t know if it’s just bad luck or how their fries actually are. Always order cheese sauce. Always. Service hasn’t been memorable, but I guess that’s better than being bad. Beer offerings are pretty standard with a couple of good specialties. Bloody Mary is SPICY. But good! Final Judgement: good place to grab a light lunch/dinner and some drinks. Not too noisy, so you can have a good conversation if need be.

It’s a nice alternative from a lot of the other pubs that have been around longer. The atmosphere is great, love the décor. The food is above average pub fare; nothing in this town is what I consider«great,» but this is about as good as it gets here. I’ve yet to try their original«pizza horseshoe,» but I’d be lying if it didn’t catch my eye every time I’m in there. The atmosphere is very nice, good décor and friendly wait-staff for the most part. I’ve caught a few of the girls on what I assume is an «off day,» but hey no one’s perfect. Beer selection is pretty good for the area. I like all the Schlafly offerings you really don’t see in any other pub. As per usual, the tap selection is minimal. I’ve never understood why so many Irish pubs stick with just the basic Irish selections-surely it can’t sell well. Overall — a nice place to get a burger and have a few beers. Even their soups are surprisingly good. Recommended.

My fiancé and her family brought me in here to have what the locals call a «Horseshoe» I however was told to order a «Pony Shoe» and that«That amount of food will be good enough» «So what is this I’m going to eat??» I ask everyone «Oh well, you pick your meat, your cheese, your bread, your fries, if you want bacon…» They just keep going on «Hold on here, what EXACTLY am I eating» I finally say to my finance «About the second leading cause of death in America» she responds «Yeah you might not wanna check your blood pressure or cholesterol for about a week» says my sister in laws husband. «Oh» I say with a nervous twitch Anyway 10 minutes later this thing, this massive fry covered cheese thing arrives in front of me served complete with a side of ranch, because everything else wasn’t enough already. I’ll put it this way The Pony Shoe was good, almost too good, dripping cheeses, crunchy bread, tangy buffalo chicken and plenty of beer to wash it down with. Until later in the evening when I had a SEVERELY upset stomach and brought it to my fiances attention. «Oh it’s just all part of the experience babe» she says cheerfully, yet seriously. «Oh» I say. Not something I could have on a regular basis, but at least once a year.
