We had my birthday dinner at The order last night. We had a large group and overall enjoyed the experience. For starters our service was GREAT. We kept the waitress very busy and she did a good job keeping up with us. Also, the food was outstanding– I had the filet and a taste of my partner’s scallops, no complaints at all. Honestly the only reason I didn’t give a 5 star ratings was the number of times our waitress how to tell us they were out of something. I counted a total of 6 different items. From alcohol to make cocktails, to the special steak that night(why even offer it as a nightly special if it isn’t available??), as well figs for the salad, only one of us were able to order the scallops because they ran out, and then they ran out of two of the desserts. When you pay almost 5 bills for dinner you except a bit better management. Next time we’ll probably hit up Flame or Argentina, one of the more established restaurants in town.

Had a good work dinner here with a large group of people. They were easily able to accommodate us unlike a nearby restaurant that had over an hour wait time. We ordered apps, the goons & double dip, both very good. The grass fed burgers were good. As was the strip steak. My co-workers raved about the mustard but the roasted red pepper ketchup didn’t work, and the aioli was too subtle. I would suggest chef try some new condiments. We had great service from a young lady and a successful dinner.

My daughter and I booked a night at Hotel Vandivort, because the other hotels around the area were already booked for a gymnastics meet. While the hotel was a bit pricier, WOW, so worth it! The décor, stylish, classy, rustic, and urban, while warm. And another jewel, THEORDER, which sits at the bottom of the hotel. Food was spot on — crispy chicken with mushroom faro, and wilted greens with bacon vinegar was cooked to a juicy and tender melt-in-mouth perfection, while the skin remained crispy and salted well. The duck breast was also very well prepared with berry and apple sauces to compliment its savory medium rare morsels. Lastly, the bread pudding with salted caramel — THEBOMB! Best bread pudding we’ve had. Crispy edges, soft, gooey center, topped with fudge and surrounded with sticky salty caramel. Don’t miss this one if you are a bread pudding fan! Service was very friendly, accommodating, and relaxed. Environment was upbeat, while also catering to a romantic atmosphere for that«first date». Even kids will be happy here if they enjoy good food. Highly recommend both THEORDER, and Hotel Vandivort!

We went for my husband’s birthday to enjoy a special dinner. Everything was perfect down to their silverware, ice cubes and cute little salt and pepper shakers. The food was superb! We ordered the bacon and goat cheese rangoons as an appetizer. The sauce they pair it with could not have pleased our palettes any better. Perfect portion sizes on the appetizer and both entrees. My husband ordered their special filet, it was the best steak he’s ever had. Cooked to perfection with a wonderful side to accompany it. I ordered«The Order», their special burger. Absolutely most amazing mouth watering burger you’ll ever have! Plus, 8 out of 10 beers are brewed within 1.5 miles of the establishment. I loved that it shows where the ingredients come from in their posh menu as well, just can’t rave enough about this place. We will be going back very soon and bringing friends next time! Definitely worth every penny! Also, you can easily make reservations online before going and your table will be reserved. No waiting, doesn’t get any better!

The atmosphere is very nice. I was with a party of 6. They sat us at a table away from the bar. It was not noisy, which made it easy to talk to each other. They do have some nice lamps on the table, but the lamps are so low and big that it makes it difficult to see people sitting across from you. We finally unplugged one of the lamps and moved it. The food was great. Several of us had the gnocchi in a very rich mushroom sauce. It was very good. They have a nice list of cocktails. I had wine, but the bartender made something special for a person at our table who only likes fruity drinks. She passed it around the table. It was pretty tasty. I had a taste of the bread pudding and it was also great. I like The Order. I’ll be back.

After seeing all the positive reviews, I was curious about the food, but this experience killed that curiosity. A friend and I went to dinner on Monday night somewhere else and came here for a drink after. We arrived at 7:15 to a mostly empty lobby it took about 15 minutes for the server to come over and clear the dozen dirty drinks from where we were sitting, after that we put a desert and drink order in. Both our drinks although super super simple(a gin on the rocks and a spiced rum and coke) were incorrect when we received them after another 15 minutes and we had to go to the bar to correct them since our server disappeared. When my friend went to inform them that the gin she ordered was in fact bourbon and the spiced rum wasn’t spiced rum she was told by the bartender that it was a wrong button, not sure what that means… No sorry, no I apologize, just it was a wrong button. Fine, we’re all human but a simple apology would have gone a long way. After finishing the desert, drinks, and water we watched our server wander about aimlessly and after a bit of that my friend got fed up and went to the bar to request our check. Thankfully she had been here before and wasn’t as shocked at the prices as I was. Yikes, these prices make Flame’s Red Room look downright cheap by comparison! Springfieldians, we all know that this is not the norm for service in our area. I for one, can and will find better options other than overpriced drinks that aren’t right the first time and some of the worst service either of us have ever had in Springfield, and you should too. I can only hope that since it was a slow Monday we got the B team but I’ll never be back to see if an A team exists and the deity of your choice help The Order if what we got was the A team.

My husband and I ate here tonight for the first time. We walked in at 6:00 with no reservation, on a Friday night. I was surprised that they immediately seated us. It was close to the bar so a little noisy but not too bothersome. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. I ordered the potato and rosemary gnocchi and it was melt in your mouth goodness. If you love mushrooms, there are lots! And a perfectly creamy Alfredo like sauce. The whole menu looked excellent, and being a foodie, I enjoyed its diversity. My husband is pickier so he ordered a salad with grilled chicken, but again, super yum! I’m guessing you can’t go wrong with anything here! I hope to go back again, and maybe stay a night in this beautiful downtown hotel!

My book club met here for November’s meeting. The Order has a few tables large enough that comfortably sat our group(7 on this particular outing), so for group events, I give this place a thumbs up. Our server was really fantastic as well. He was pleasant, always kept our water glasses full, gave some really helpful feedback on the featured cocktails and brunch menu, and was overall exactly what you hope for from a server in a high end place, so well done! I wanted the Springfield Summer cocktail on the brunch list, but our server said they were out of the watermelon cubes and basil, which I responded«That’s fine, I was really more excited about the vodka and lemon juice. Could I just have that?» He nodded reluctantly and offered if I wanted the bar tender to make something up with those ingredients. I gave the go ahead, and he came back with this beautiful Rosemary lemonade the bar tender created. It was out of this world, and I passed it around the table, which then prompted four others to order different cocktails as well so we could all taste something different. Each and every one was a refreshing and delicious piece of art, and as I’ve experience many cocktails over the years, I know a really good thing when I taste it. Top marks here. The food: It was Sunday brunch and the menu looked amazing. However when we got the food? What. The. F*ck. They are way over proud of their food. Everything was bite sized: literally! Bite sized. When they said $ 4 for a slider I was at least expecting it to be a few bites, but they were painfully small. I tried the pork belly and the chicken and waffle sliders, and I was unimpressed with both. The flavors were there, but the chicken was seriously the size of nugget you’d get with a Sweet and Sour Chicken at any Springfield Asian restaurant, and the waffle was a joke. My particular nugget was overcooked as well, but whatever, the server had been so wonderful I didn’t want to ruin his shift by complaining. The pork belly, which I know is fatty, was unpleasantly fatty. Another’s French Toast Dippers tasted great, but they were no where near worth $ 10. Maybe $ 6 and that would really be pushing it. When a couple each got their Eggs Benedict(also $ 10), the boyfriend leaned over and whispered«We’ll go somewhere afterwards.» The food was overall alright, but the value was not there. It wasn’t there in the food at the least. Still, we had a good time. We had a lot of time to talk about The Girl on the Train, we could hear each other easily, and the experience was all over really fun. The Vandifort front desk receptionist even took our group picture, making certain the lighting was just right, so I feel like I can’t say enough about how great the staff is! So, for that reason, I’d be back for drinks and to just enjoy a night out with friends, but I’ll grab dinner elsewhere.

A really great atmosphere. Really cool looking place. The only problem is that when it is really busy you can barely hear the person sitting across from you. Great drinks. Good service. Our food could have been better. We ordered the steak which was chewy and the braised pork belly was just okay. I expected the food to be a little better. We would probably give it another try.

I am in the middle of the road. The food was good, it came out in a decent time. The service was not great by any means. It was lunch time, there were five tables including us, they were all two tops. Clearly they were not busy. Our waitress forgot our app until after had already finished our meal. Never once stopped by during the meal to see how everything was tasting. Never refilled our waters. The other waitress eventually notice we were out of water and was nice enough to refill them for us. I think this place can be great they just need some help with there serving staff. I probably won’t go back.

Extremely disappointed. Stopped by this evening with my husband for an after dinner cocktail and were completely ignored by the entire bar staff. After selecting one of the many open tables next to the bar we made eye contact with every employee but no one ever came to greet us. After fifteen minutes we finally flagged down a waitress and asked for a menu but she never returned. And so we walked out feeling frustrated that such a high end establishment would have such terrible service.

Want to pay Las Vegas drink prices in Springfield, Mo??? This is your place! We went in for a cocktail at around 5:30pm on a Friday… sat at the bar and quickly found out, they offered no happy hour options. I can appreciate the hand crafted cocktail, but $ 14.00 in downtown Springfield, mo is way too much. At least offer an ice water… Atmosphere was dry and stuffy. Doubt we’ll be back.

Excellent location, an atmosphere that makes you want to be seen there, and seasonal menu. This place has it all. Well almost. Location and design I’d give this place 5 stars. Friendliness of the staff 5 stars. Food quality 4ish. But here we get into a bit of a pickle. This is what Id call a higher end place for the money. You can certainly have a nice dinner on a basic budget but they offer premium options which we picked for a special occasion and felt a little let down. The apps were fun and playful, and she loved the bacon, onion, & goat cheese rangoons. We highly recommend those. She didn’t really like her halibut though. Felt it was mushy instead of flaky and buttery that halibut is known for. My Prime Ribeye was good but presentation wise was a pile on a plate. For the price I just expected more. This place has so much going for it. Just getting those final details will push it up so much higher and as they are new I’m cutting them some slack. For this kind of dining experience the details are so much more important. We will be back in a few to see how they progress and update our review to match.

We have now been to The Order three times, once for drinks and twice for brunch. I would like to see them rise to their potential, but if they don’t meet the mark soon I’m afraid we will have to stop trying. The menu reads like a foodies paradise, but sadly the execution is disappointing. The first time around, I ordered a duck hash, adding a poached egg on top. The potatoes were underdone, and when I think of a hash, I think ‘crispy’ — this certainly did not deliver on any level. This morning for brunch, I was pleasantly surprised to see the duck hash now comes with a poached egg. Instead, I chose the cornbread, with crispy mushrooms, a poached egg, and an onion jam. I also asked for a side of pork belly, one of my favorite things. When my cocktail arrived(watermelon mimosa), I found the glass to be less than half full, and lacking any sign of the promised garnish. When I asked the waitress(who, by the way, was consistently on point), she took it and returned it with a small piece of watermelon on the rim — still less than half full. This wouldn’t have bothered me so much, if I hadn’t sat and watched other fully garnished, fully filled glasses pass by me the rest of the morning. When my brunch arrived, I felt I could stomach the complete absence of promised mushrooms, and the misleadingly named«onion jam», which more closely resembled the kind of pickled red onions you would top tacos with. But the pork belly I ordered as a side was completely cold in the middle. Anyone who regularly enjoys pork belly I’m sure will shudder at the thought of anticipating a wonderfully soft, melting delicacy, and being presented instead with two pieces of cold fat. The waitress took it back to the kitchen, and even after it came back(long after my parry had finished our meal), it was still not up to temperature. The waitress was kind enough to remove it from our ticket. For two people with a few cocktails and brunch, the bill came in at fiftyish. The atmosphere is great. The service is impeccable. However the consistency when it comes to pouring drinks and the execution of the well-designed menu pull this review down to where it is. I would like to come back and enjoy the offerings here at The Order — maybe after they’ve worked out the many kinks in their brunch service.

The ambiance is nice. Very modern and cool. I visited on a Friday during lunch. The restaurant was near capacity(which isn’t very many) and we were seated immediately. Service was great. My friend and I both had the signature burger which is appropriately self named. The burger was… Good, I guess. Individually, the ingredients are great and should add up to a good burger. But, to be honest, it just wasn’t anything to write home about. The cheese was overly melted and most of it had left the burger by the time it was at our table. I can’t remember exactly what it was, some type of onion jam, but there wasn’t enough on it to really taste. The side salad that consisted of prosciutto and dates was nice. Five starts for ambiance and three stars for food.

Great modern feel. Cool upscale atmosphere. Great service. Well prepared & crafted food using local organic ingredients. Local flavors including Coffee from the best Coffee Shop in Missouri… TheCoffeeEthic. Every detail has been considered down to the ice cubes. The house made mustard & ketchup are delish! Can’t wait to try more entrée’s here. Well done. Well appointed. Well… You better get on over here and give it a try. Feels like a restaurant in a much larger city. Not a ton of tables… You may need a reservation.
