Finally a health-minded Asian food restaurant that is a great place to dine in or takeout. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for great food, very low priced and you can eat healthy!

From the moment I first tasted the hibachi beef, I knew this was about to become my go-to Korean restaurant. It’s hard to imagine a better option for relatively healthy, delicious cuisine served this quickly. My only regret is that I failed to notice green tea was on the menu until my dinner had already come to a close — a mistake you can bet I’ll be rectifying when I return.

Stopped in here for dinner right before Christmas on the recommendation of a friend. Very nice, clean, open place. Orders are placed at the counter, then brought out by servers when the food is ready. We ordered crab rangoon, 2 kinds of sushi, a small teriyaki chicken bowl w/noodles, and a bowl of udon noodles with a side of tempura veggies. The crab rangoon, teriyaki, udon, and tempura veggies were all great — fresh and homemade. As for the sushi — they have yet to hit their stride there. One was fried and had way too much breading. The salmon sushi was made with cooked salmon, when I think raw or smoked is more customary. We didn’t have any of the cold veggie sides but we heard many around us gushing about them, so next time I’ll give them a try. I would def try Yoshi Jen again — the value for the money was very good, and I think they’ll get even better with time.

Love this restaurant. Great owners and staff. The food is delicious and very fresh. I traveled once a month to Springfield and look forward to eating here. The bulgogi is wonderful and the picked radish delicious. I’ve also had the noodles and chicken teriyaki. All good. If you like coconut you have to try the homemade coconut cake

Was really happy with this place! Staff was super nice and the food was amazing! Stopped here with 3 coworkers for dinner. We tried the bulgogi, kalbi shortribs, yaki soba, yoshi jen roll and veggie fritters. All were off the charts good. Bookmarked this one for a return visit when I am in the area again.

The food is great and the service is FANTASTIC. We had the yaki soba, broccoli with Thai chili, island potato salad, and the spring rolls. It was all delicious! Big portions and very reasonably priced. They make their desserts in house, too– the pumpkin crunch cake was amaaaaaazing. We will definitely be back!

Excellent food. Great service. Super clean and very friendly. Inexpensive. I have had several things here but I love the beef Bulgogi. The owner makes Wasabi if you ask for it. Yum yum.

Really have enjoyed this place! Wife loves the Teriyaki mini meals and so far I’ve had the chicken katsu, bulgogi, and salmon and enjoyed them all. Very fresh tasting and not overboard on the oils like most Asian restaurants. The sides, especially the potato salad and broccoli, are fantastic.

We live near Crane but will drive to Springfield just to eat there. One of the best Asian restaurants in Springfield. We have try ed all of them. Hope they stay open for years to come. Yum Yum. The service was also great. Thanks.

So darned good, not only did we clean our plates, but began picking out menu items for our next visit… Even before the homemade dessert had a chance to get to our table!

Still as good as it was on day one. Today for lunch I had the chicken teriyaki special and for dinner I ordered the Beef Bulgogi mini meal. I really enjoy the fact that they have these«mini meals». Sometimes I lack self control and will eat whatever is in front of me regardless of how hungry I am. These mini meals are delicious and in my eyes they are the perfect portion size. At $ 6.25 for a meat, a side dish and white rice you really can’t go wrong. Every employee has always been very friendly and helpful. I’m trying to eat healthy and light, so I had to resist the urge to order the veggie fritters(still the best thing on the menu).

What a delightful place. I will definitely be back. Lovely décor, exceptional owner and service. Food was fresh and served fast. Chicken was a tiny bit dry, so will have to sample other things from the menu.

The atmosphere at the restaurant was clean and the staffs were nice and friendly. The menu is a basic Korean&Japanese food. The food cooks really fast… It’s like Asian fast food. There are some off the menu items behind the counter but didn’t show the price(so you have to ask). I had kalbi short ribs, and it was really really chewy. My fiancé order yoshi sushi and it was just okay. I’m not too crazy about the potato salad. In stead using boil potato, They using French fries. In my opinion French fries are not taste good after left it out for too long and it worst when it’s hard and soak up with mayo. I would say they are really smart about the portion size compare to the price.

Love this place. Both the restaurant and the food are clean and organized. It’s hard to find Korean food in this fast/fast-casual format around here. The food is arranged nicely and artfully plated, which is a very nice touch. Very friendly staff. It’s strange that they don’t list kimchi on the menu, but when I asked for it as one of my sides they were happy to provide it.

Due to forces outside of my control, I’ve eaten at Yoshi Jen twice in the past week. Turns out the universe was being very kind to me. Both times that I was there I really enjoyed my food, which I found to be unique, healthy, and reasonably priced. Hard to get that all in one package, but here it is! The banner out by the road that says that they serve«yummy food» is truth in advertising. My first visit was with my family. They do have a kids menu, but both my kids ordered from the regular menu and really enjoyed their meals. My son, who does not like potatoes, loved the potato salad, along with everyone else at the table. With four different entrees and all the different sides, we were tasting and passing everything around because it all tasted so good. On both visits I had the opportunity to chat with the owner, Jennifer, who is incredibly nice and witty. Overall the service is excellent. I was also impressed to see a notice on the door stating that they were going to close on a Saturday for an employee appreciation event. I think that is an incredible show of how when a biz owner values their staff, the staff does excellent work. The atmosphere is asian-café-ish. The location used to be an Orange Leaf frozen yogurt place, but you probably wouldn’t be able to tell unless you recognize the orange tile at the back of the dining area. The space is very clean and inviting, and the booths are comfortable — proven by the fact that my second visit was a two hour business meeting. If you like«clean» asian food or are looking for a variation to your rice with fried chicken and sauce habit, you should give Yoshi Jen a try.

Best lunch on the south side of town. My favorite dish so far, and I can’t believe I’m saying it because I’ve never really liked tofu, is the«Tofu Steak». It’s panko(I think) bread crumb breaded and fried, topped with shiitakes and green onion and a delicious, slightly sweet sauce. The tofu is kind of molten on the inside of the breading, and… Its quite yummy. Also, they do have excellent house-made Kimchi, you just have to ask for it. Not on the menu.

This place truly is amazing! When you walk in it isn’t at all what you expect. The place is immaculate. Cleaner than any restaurant that I can think of. The décor is modern and in perfect symmetry. Now on to the staff. They are all friendly whether checking you out or getting a drink. You pay first before the meal. They are willing to answer all questions. On to the prices. This place is extremely affordable. My whole meal and appetizer was less than $ 10. Spring rolls way cheaper than anywhere and were really good. I had the beef which was more tender than any other Asian beef I’ve tried. Don’t let the potato salad fools you. It isn’t you standard potato salad. The potatoes are fried and it is an awesome side! Their noodles and rice are standard but I heard nothing but good things about the green bean. Check this place out… you won’t be disappointed.

Have been here twice now and each time was very good. Food is cooked to order and flavorful. The décor is modern and clean. The service very friendly. One thing to know is that some dishes are a bit hands on to eat. The short ribs are still on the bone and the shrimp have the tails still on. I really don’t mind this because it adds a ton of flavor. Some might be turned off though. Love love the green beans as a side. Not sure what they put on them but I have to say its one of my favorite preparations of them. Give this place a try.
