We were in PriceCutter picking up a few odds/ends for a family dinner, whenthe inviting smell of Oscar’s BBQ truck beckoned us over to see what was cookin’. We ended up grabbing a full slab of ribs and a handful of their bacon wrapped stuffed jalepenos. This place is not my favorite, nor the best I’ve ever chowed on… but they were a solid 3-stars good.

Extremely good BBQ! Polish sausage was incredible! Tender and so full of flavor. Pork sandwich was really good. Wings have a really good flavor and the ribs were tender and pulled right off the bone. We stopped by on our way home from Branson, but would definitely stop again!

Was I expecting the best barbeque ever? No. I’ll find that in central Texas. Did I expect this to be the best representation of BBQ in Springfield, MO? Yes, simply because its made by a local family that other Unilocalers believe in. I really want to like what this business has to offer. It looks amazing, smells amazing, and should taste amazing. But this is not the case. I was fortunate enough to have ordered the last spareribs they had on 4th of July. I also ordered some jalapenos since they looked good. The spareribs were moist in some spots, while dry in others. But I never had a rib where it really blw me away. They have a pretty good rub, but it didn’t hit the spot for me. They do make a pretty good sauce, which I must applaud them for. But overall, the meat was OK. I finished my slab enjoying my meal, but I wasn’t thrilled by what I had. The jalapenos were good, but were not anything special. they were pretty mild in spice, but the other customer in front of me thought it was a scorcher. My friend had a hot dog, and she was very dissapointed. I tried some of it, and shared her pain. The hot link was too burnt on the outside, and the taste of the inside was hardly noticeable. It was also borderline dry. I imagine if you are a local, then these are a pretty good option for barbeque. For anyone else, Id say look elsewhere. I wanted to like this place, considering how far I went out of my way.

We stopped here on our way back from Branson, MO. The place is actually located right outside the Price Cutter supermarket, and you buy the food inside the store. We had pretty high expectations because of the Unilocal reviews. We ordered a rack of ribs, a brisket sandwich and some of the sauce. My son really liked the sandwich and the ribs were very good as well. We had wanted to try the pulled pork but they were all out. I guess my only complaint is that I felt it was quite expensive for what you got.

We stopped by because Unilocal recommend it. We got the pork steak. The smoke ring was clearly visible and the taste was outstanding. We talked to the owner and he is a very nice man who cares about his product. We will stop by again anytime we are in the area.

Who knew that some of the best bbq in the south would come off of a cart? I have not been disappointed in anything I have had here. But the best is the smoked polish sausage with bbq sauce… but the smoked pork chop, baby back ribs, and pulled pork sandwich are also amazing. The only problem is it always leaves you wanting more. We go at least once a week. The only problem is they close daily at 7:30pm or when the food runs out… Let’s just say I’ve never seen them open at 7:30pm.

Food is only truly great when it comes from our passions and Don and Lillie are passionate about barbecue. I tried this stand on a lark after my heterosexual lifepartner showed it to me one night. I swung by a few days later and GOODNIGHT, SHUTTHEFRONTDOOR that was amazing. I had a smoked polish sausage and it was the best sausage I have ever put in my mouth(easy this is a family show). It was so good I have been back 4 more times and every time I now take my partner and she is waking up at 3 in the morning craving the sausage(easy there). The pulled pork sandwich is insane and I ate it so fast I almost lost a finger tip. The pork steak is like smokey heaven on my tongue. The sauce they have doesn’t overpower the flavor of the meat it just compliments it. I have started rubbing the barbecue around my neck and behind my ears now. This makes my girlfriend tackle me at the knees when she smells it and then… well she does love Oscar’s barbecue. Don and Lillie are always friendly and greet you with a smile. They will make recommendations to you and they haven’t been off yet. They really just welcome you into their lives and they remembered us whenever we went back. They are there Fri, Sat, Sun, and Mon from 10 to 7:30 or until they sell out. Let’s be honest they normally sell out, I have never seen them there until 7:30. Remember this is a stand that you go to order your amazing food and take it home to devour… that is if you can resist the smokey, mouth watering air freshener you have just put in your car.
