The best restaurant we have discovered in all of the St Augustine area… and we have tried many. Great fish specials and the prime rib night is killer!

My wife and I were able to get reservations on the busy Valentine’s Day weekend. The wait staff was very friendly. We started in the bar with a drink before moving to the dining room for a magnificent dinner. My wife had the flat iron steak with truffle butter and I had the blue crab pasta. We shared an appetizer of artichoke and spinach dip and then split a salad. The wine selection is extensive. Our only complaint is we will not be able to return until we visit St. Augustine again.

For happy hour bar manager Frank full of local intel… Allison can make an insanely amazing drink and the Thai chilly shrimp apps to die for.

Wow!!! My husband and I ate here last night. Our waitress Daisy was charming and very helpful regarding the menu. I had literally the best crab cakes of my life here. Soft, moist, with an amazing sauce to go with. I didn’t expect my salmon could compare, but it was pretty damn awesome also. My husband had conch chowder which he proclaims to be great, and the hangar steak, which was equally delicious. Drink menu is varied and exciting. Wish we had room for dessert but were stuffed. Two drinks each, an app each and two dinners came out to a reasonable $ 116. For the quality of the food, this seems well priced, we were pleasantly surprised. We expect this will be the best meal of our vacay in St. Augustine. It was really out of this world and I recommend it above all others from whence I have dined in the area. 6 stars if possible! Don’t miss this place.

Excellent dinner! Our choices ranged from pork shoulder to surf & turf. All was beautifully presented and delicious. Service was very attentive but not rushed. We highly recommend the Blackfly and will return!

Great service and friendly! Appetizers — mixed green salad was yummy. The pasta blue crab dish was disappointing. Vey little crab meat provide after 2 or 3 bites… It was challenging trying to locate the crab meat and I felt like I was on a treasure hunt. My husband had crab cakes and steak. The crab cakes were good, but could use more seasoning. The steak was uncooked, but tasty. I would recommend restaurant, but would could only rate this restaurant 3 out of 4 stars. This restaurant is a keeper

Beautiful atmosphere, and excellent service. Some of the pricing is a bit more than expected, but worth it for the quality. Flounder sautéed in a lemon caper sauce was perfection. The conch fritters were a little greasy, as someone else noted. The margarita flatbread was good. The steak flatbread was a good idea, but a little flat on execution. Steak was also overdone. Overall, a very nice meal though. We would come back(without kids).

This was our second time at the restaurant WOW! Great food and great service. The mushroom Wellington is a must. Better than average wine list with drink and dinner specials. Service is wonderful. General manager comes around to see if everything is good. Cannot wait to go back.

Absolutley fantastic presentation and flavor. My brother had the catch of the day and I had the mixed grill. The shrimp, scallops and filet in the grill mix were all fresh tasting and with sauces and flavors that were both surprising and mellow. The same goes for the catch of the day! Great place!

Our party of five dined at this establishment on 10/11/2015. Everything was lovely, attentive hostess, our entrees delivered promptly. With the exception of my spouses plate everyone was pleased. He ordered the salmon dish which we were told«was not farm raised»(not sure that that makes a difference for his illness). The kitchen needs to go back to Fish 101 and the proper cook time/temp. His dish was under done which in our opinion is the cause for his GI malady. Either Blackfly has a problem with their supplier, or the problem is with their staff and not cooking at a proper temp and time or more importantly inadequate refrigeration.

Really awesome dinner experience! Very cool décor and ambiance with great local art displayed. Molly was our server and took great care of us. Attentive, thorough and friendly. Her recommendations were spot on. Conch critters, coconut lobster and cocktails so yummy. Be adventurous and order of the drink menu for a fun and well mixed drink.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner! Everything was well portioned, well prepared and mouth watering! Our server, Laurel, was very attentive, pleasant and helpful — offering great insights and suggestions about the menu. Our party ordered Lobster Mac and Cheese, Mixed Grill, Blackfly Fried Shrimp and the pasta with crab. All were fantastic. The décor reflects the artistic talents of the owner and chef — make sure you look at the artwork, flies painted on the floor and their Blackfly swag(t-shirts, hats, etc). We will be returning again before our vacation ends.

We were here Sunday evening after a baby shower for my daughter in law. One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to on many levels! Service was polite, knowledgable, timely and accurate… who could ask for more! Food was delectable, interesting, well presented and tasty! Atmosphere was relaxed, something missing from so many top end restaurants… not here! I didn’t feel rushed whatsoever! Will return everytime we visit grandchildren in St. Augustine!

What a discovery! If you are eating out because you really like great food, then eat here. Everything is done well. I recommend whatever the fresh catch is. And save a LOT of room for dessert! Plan to take your time dining here. Enjoy! Best place in St Augustine.

We ate here on a Monday night around 9 as it was one of the few places that was still open in the area, unfortunately, weren’t aware how pricey it was but it was totally worth it! I ordered their fresh catch of Mahi Mahi tuna and it was hands down the best I’d ever had, my husband even tried it(he’s a simple eater) and wished he’d ordered it. If we’re ever back in the St. Augustine area we will absolutely be back.

This is our second or third time back to BlackFly and it was delicious, once again. We made a reservation thinking it was going to be a mad house, but they were having an unseasonably slow evening so it was nice and quiet for my husband and I. We had a nice booth by the front window after been greeted by an adorable hostess. She was bubbly and very friendly; she was an excellent person to have at the front desk. Our server was also very good. He greeted us promptly and was very attentive, without being overbearing. He made great recommendations and had a very nice demeanor. I had the crab pasta(again) which was(once again) mounded with crab! It was very good. My husband had the Ahi tuna special. I cannot rave enough about the tuna! It was SOOGOOD. We asked our server why it wasn’t on the menu and he provided the best explanation I’ve ever heard for not having such a great meal on the menu: he said that they pride themselves on the freshest ingredients and didn’t want to disappoint patrons if they were not able to obtain the best tuna.(Great reason, right?!?) I’ll repeat, because its worth repeating, the tuna was SOOGOOD. I highly recommend this restaurant. if you come to Saint Augustine, you should make a visit to this great spot. You won’t be disappointed.

We had a nice dinner at this restaurant. The place gives the impression that it will be formal but is casual and relaxing. All of our food was excellent and well prepared. The service was good and efficient. Mrs Eva had a small pizza and I had a Capellini with lump blue crab. The salads were very nice and my Caesar dressing was excellent.

«You’re charging premium prices for this sh** !!!» –Gordon Ramsey. Not even he would eat here. Does the chef know anything about seasoning? For starters when the plates were brought to us, we were both slapped in the face with a strong odor of fish. We did in fact order fish and do understand that there would be an expected slight fishy smell; however, we ordered the«specials», they should be fresh and should have hardly any fishy smell at all. It was stomach churning from the beginning. Both meals that were ordered were unseasoned. The most bland food I have ever encountered in a restaurant. I was confused at what I was eating. The menu said risotto with parm, there was no taste of cheese at all and I though I was either eating chunky mashed potatoes or unflavored tapioca(rice pudding). I am being honest. Seasoning is not a four letter word, use it! The green beans were also raw but burnt. How can one manage to do that? My fish had uncooked diced peaches on top of it. Confusing! They credited our $ 9 appetizer, and we were stuck with the $ 58 charge of 2 meals that should have been fed to the dogs. Never again. Thank you
