Service five stars. Food five stars. My husband and I didn’t know what we were in the mood for. So we walked and walked and came across this tucked away treasure. It is certainly mom and pop. And reminded me of the inside of my grandma’s house. Which is fine by me. I don’t need fancy or trendy. I want GOOD food. And that’s what we got. The pierogies were excellent. We got potato and cheese and sauerkraut and mushroom. The spinach pie. The golabki. The trio Mediterranean dip with pitas. Bread basket. Baklava. And 2 cokes for $ 47. Everything was great(the baklava was just ok). But the golabki was one of the best things I’ve eaten in a looooooong time. It was insanely good. This place exceeded my expectations greatly!!!

If you’re looking for some decent polish food, then this place isn’t too bad. If you’re thinking of making the mistake I did and wanted to grab some Greek food, I would consider going someplace else. This place obviously specializes in Polish food and the Greek food that I ordered was very poorly done. None of the Mediterranean seasonings one would expect for Greek food. It was supremely disappointing and I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

We picked this place out because we were with a friend that really likes polish food. I’m not a big fan so take it with a grain of salt when I say things were just okay. The waitress was really helpful and amazing. My problem is they made a mistake and charged my debit card $ 25,000! Mistakes happen and they reversed it the same day — but no one even bothered to call me and I didn’t find out about it until I saw my statement and thought my card had been stolen at first — wtf. You should really call a person if you make a mistake like that. Just sayin.

I’ve had many gyro sandwiches in my day and this one was by far the worst. I asked for a lamb gyro they said they cant do it, that they only have half lamb half pork. When I got it it was all pork no lamb. I confronted the waitress about it, she lied and ignored me. I left no tip on my bill for the horrible service, but they charged my card for a tip!!! How ridiculous! I’m one to give the benefit of the doubt but not when a restaurant is dishonest! Will never come back, and don’t recommend you do either.

This is a great home cooking restaurant, Polish /Greek(odd combination but it works) Great selection of Polish beers. The soups, which include coconut and cold borscht are outstanding. Pierogis are excellent, cabbage rolls and Greek salad all good. Spinach pie. Excellent service. This is a little gem in the historic district.

St. Augustine yielded no cellular reception for my poor phone when I was there so Unilocaling a place to eat was not an option(aka panic mode). One of the local museum docents talked highly of this place, circled it on our tourist map and sent us on our way. This place is very well hidden — we walked by it THREE times before we turned down that tiny street that it is on off of the market. Luckily, it was well worth the confusion. The interior is kitschy and cute — nothing fancy. We ordered mainly off the specials menu(it came with pictures which were helpful). Gyro was a bit on the salty end, but the seasonings were great! Stuffed pepper/tomato was to die for. It was rice and ground beef with tomato sauce and chunks of cheese on top. If it is on the specials menu, get it!

This is a very nice small little place. We ate outside in the little cobblestone alley way, had a nice candle at the table, drank some wine and some very good polish beer. We had the salad which was super fresh, pierogis which were very yummy! The service was very good too as well. We will definitely be stopping by again when in St. Augustine.

Tucked away in the back side street, you just have to detour one small block off the more popular walk to find this little place. We didn’t want to eat at one of the touristy places this time and just wanted a lower key place that locals would go — this café fits the bill. I’ll start backwards with our food. Had the polish apple cheesecake, made with farmers cheese — was quite good, not too sweet and was cake-like — not at all like the Juniors cheesecakes in NYC that I’ve grown up with, more like a Japanese cheesecake but a bit richer. Good with a hot cup of coffee or even their cappuccino or latte. We had ordered hot-out-of-the oven tomato and pepper stuffed with rice and meat. Was a delicious melding of flavors that was tasty yet light but also home made comfort food. Since it was a chilly 48 degrees in St Augustine(yes, why us???), this dish just warmed us up and was satisfying. Started with the Mediterranean sampler which comprised of cucumber/tzatziki, a tapenade and a pink fluffier spread that perhaps had more chopped cukes in it, accompanied by a huge basket of warm bread and pita that didn’t need butter, that itself was almost filling and also an excellent appetizer. The barley soup and spicy coconut soup(reminded me of a light Thai curry) were excellent, hot(temp-wise) and were rich — you really do taste all the ingredients and very well seasoned. Home made for sure and that’s why both soups were so good. The interior is more like a homey café, comfortable and warm. The other diners were quiet and the place is definitely low key. Highly recommend for those of you who just want great home style food and get slightly off the beaten path.

Visiting St. Augustine for the day. Found this cute little place on Unilocal.First went to their café but around the corner is their lunch location. Jessica was our waitress and welcomed us in. She was so welcoming! Sold us on the stuffed tomato and pepper. Stuffed with rice, lamb, and mint. Surrounded by potatoes and zucchini. Amazing! Great selection of Polish and German beers. Definitely worth the visit.

If you’re looking for a mom and pops place with a Greek & Polish twist I highly recommend it. The food definitely was made with love and delicious! I wasn’t sure of what to expect. But I tried a little bit of everything. Loved the service our server provided as well. It was top notch. :)

We were looking around for a good non touristy(not sure if that’s a real word) restaurant and we found it. We started with 3 cups of soup all different spicy coconut — beef barley — borsch all great!!! Then we tried the hummus trio perfect! You can tell that everything is home made from scratch! Highly recommended!

Pleased to say that we’ve come back(of course!) and had great food and great service. I just loooove the food here. The borsch is delicious, the hummus-eggplant-tzatziki sampler platter is to die for and the pierogis are the best. Not sure why people complain about the gaufres because they are NOT hard and are perfect every time. If you want American waffles buy some Eggos and cook them yourself. If you want delicious European fresh made waffles with fresh whipped cream and chocolate sauce this is it! Thank you for yet another yummy foodie experience!

Came here on a Sunday brunch tour with The Tasting Tours company. This was our 3rd stop. We were given samples of their pierogies and waffles. Since we were getting pretty full up to this point in the tour, we had asked to split the portions we were originally supposed to be given. We got to try the classic pierogi filled with potato and another filled with sauerkraut and mushrooms. Both were amazing and served with a dollop of sour cream on the side. Next came out a plain waffle topped with homemade whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate. The waffle was the best waffle I’ve ever had. We were told it is made with seltzer water which gave it this light and fluffy texture but still had a thin crisp layer to it. I will be dreaming of this waffle until I have it again. I would return to St. Augustine again just for this.

Tucked away in a little corner off of Aviles street is this gem of a place. When I walked in I felt like I was walking into a quaint and homey European restaurant and I suddenly forgot I was still roaming the streets of Florida. There are several tables around with all sorts of unique décor which brings a homey feel to the place. Our waitress was very sweet and went over the menu with us and even gave us a sample of the borscht to try. We wanted to taste the pierogis and so we ordered a variety. When the first order came out we devoured them– they were cooked perfectly and had so much flavor. We loved them so much we had to get another order but opted to get our favorite ones which are the cheddar and potato. We also tried their Greek side and ordered the spinach pie and it was big enough to share as an appetizer. The dough was flaky and buttery and had the perfect spinach filling. As for the service it was perfection! Our waitress not only gave us a sample of the borscht but also a sample of the wine I was unsure of, and even a charger for our phone which was about to die! I literally felt like I was a guest in someone’s home. She made our stop at Gaufre’s a memorable one. We skipped dessert because we had had a waffle earlier at Costeau’s but I had to leave something to come back to… because there will be a next time!

I suppose I’m a regular, and I’ve never had a bad meal here. The Polish food is authentic and delicious! The Greek dishes rival any others in town. I recommend their soups too. Favorite dishes: Tzatziki appetizer, lentil soup and Thai yellow curry soup, perogies with sautéed onions, stuffed cabbage, Greek spinach pies, and of course, a dessert waffle with The Works.(Just don’t try all of it at one meal!)

Wow! This place is a GEM and loved the entire meal. Has a real«home» feeling which was followed by such a wonderful authentic home cooked meal. If you never had polish food, park your dupa at this place! As it will not get any more authentic unless you are sitting at Babcia’s domu!

This is a very nice and quaint place to get dinner. The food was very good and the service was flawless. We tried the cold borsch, warm borsch, stuffed cabbage, stuffed pepper and pierogis(cabbage and potatoes). If you are not sure which pirogi filling to choose, you can choose to do a plate ½ and ½. You do not need to pick one filling. This was great! Also, as a Ukrainian, I must say that the«pirogi» or «varenuki»(Ukrainian term) were very good! I also greatly enjoyed the cold borsch and the stuffed pepper. The stuffed pepper was very unique, because they used lamb in the stuffing and not ground beef or pork. As for drinks, we were intrigued by the options. They have a variety of European wines and beers. We chose a Croatia white wine which was very light and a polish warka which had lightly sweet undertone. Overall, I had a great experience and look forward to returning and trying other items on the menu.
