This is about as bad as Tex-Mex cooking can get. Another place that smothers everything in shredded cheese and calls that flavor. Everything here is bland. Taquitos were awful. Veggies in my recent fajita were so undercooked they tasted raw. I don’t care for the salsa here. And the only thing worse than their food is their service. They seem to be understaffed because they just cannot keep up with even a few groups of diners. This is some of the worst Mexican food around. Skip it.

This is a Mexican diner, it was packed as I got there but they weren’t terribly busy as I had planned. The food was good and with endless chips and salsa I was satisfied. The service was decent and our waitress was very nice to accommodate to our needs. I really enjoyed the food, not the best Mexican food I’ve had but still a good bite.

I have lived in st. George for 40+ years and this restaurant has been one of our favorites. I have noticed a huge decline in the quality and taste at this establishment. My husband ordered a meal that was supposed to come with shrimp. The server brought his order out and there were no shrimp. We asked to see a menu because we remembered the order had shrimp. The menu said shrimp, we asked the server what happened to the shrimp that were supposed to be on it, and he came back and told us they had run out of shrimp! By this time I was done with my meal. The server went back to find out what the manager wanted to do about the mistake and manager said they could take off $ 3.00 because the shrimp weren’t there. Had my husband known there weren’t any shrimp in the place he wouldn’t have ordered this particular menu item! The manager was rude, to say the least. The food was substandard. I think the place has changed ownership. We vowed not to go back, but last night we went back to try it one more time. My adilla especial was not the same as I have had in the past numerous times! It was simply a burrito with canned chiles spread through it. It used to be loaded with jack cheese. My daughters chicken flautas were burnt beyond recognition. The salsa was also changed to canned out of the bottle salsa when it used to be fresh! It is not the same pancho and leftys we have called our favorite Mexican food restaurant. The new owners better get it together before too long.

A few years ago, before I really started using Unilocal and using reviews I went here. And I remember absolutely loving it. We went back and it was not as good as I remember. Although I will say there were a few positive things. I did really enjoy the salsa. It was Liquidy in its texture but that’s OK. That was until I saw it just sitting in the preserve bowls just sitting there with all sorts of cleaning supplies around it. Yuck. We were One of the only ones in there but it took us a while to get seated, it took our server a little while to come, end it took a while to get our drinks. I got water and my husband got the Mexican rice drink. It did not look like horchatta(sp?). The one thing I will say is that the food lacked salts. And the refried beans look like they had been left out for a while because they were crusted over. I could say more, but, I I am sad, because I do think some of their dishes are good, but the quality of the food is not worth what you pay, and it is definitely not worth the wait. I will say our server was very very nice and we told her we were in a rush and she did a really nice job. Truth be told I am definitely having some gastrointestinal issues now. I’m definitely going to have to use some essential oils to help promote positive digestive function.

I don’t like to leave bad reviews, so I’ll start with the good. The horchata was delicious, and the salsa was pretty good too. For the bad, the chips are greasy, and seem like they may be using old grease to cook them. The beans taste like they are full of lard, the rice was ok. Luckily we decided to share a dish because it was our first time here(and we told our server this) and I’m so glad we did, the chicken and beef were burnt beyond reason(see pict). After addressing the server about this she apologized and said she spoke with the manager and that they promise to do better next time… Hmmmm. I’m thinking there will not be a next time. In a situation like this you think they would comp. you for something or give you a discount card to come back, but no… Nothing, not even a direct apology from the manager. Just a please come again and we promise to do better… I’m not a picky person on things like this but … WOW!

The service was good, as well as the food. I do hope to find a better Mexican food place in Saint George. If not, I will be happy here. Endless chips and salsa and good margaritas.

Had a wonderful dinner of Steak and Chicken Fajitas. Food was fresh and yummy. Service was excellent. Friendly staff from hostess to wait staff. Ate in the bar and it was a great atmosphere. I highly recommend this Mexican Restaurant.

I really wanted this place to be good. I was hoping that maybe the parking lot was always empty bc it was really good Mexican food and maybe people around here prefer more ‘café rio’ style. Wrong. We went on a Friday at 8. I swear I thought it was 11pm, there was only 2 other sat tables in the restaurant, staff was kind of just hanging around and irritated that it was so slow. We were sat right away, of course. Chips and salsa were bleh. The salsa was watery, not good. Definitely poured out of some commercial bottle and nothing added to it to make it seem more ‘homemade’. Our waitress was no where to be found most of the time, which is odd, because it’s not like she was busy. Another staff member started sweeping right next to us and putting up chairs. I hate that. Wait till we leave. Plus it’s 830, far from closing. You could hear waitstaff in the back bitching about how slow it is, etc etc. Anyhow, won’t be back. Food wasn’t good, staff is bitter. Another failed restaurant in that location!

Service is great… Food is bland. Perfect for anyone on a no flavor diet, but still wants«Mexican» Food. Salsa was like a can of stewed tomatoes with some chopped cilantro thrown in. Asked for spicier salsa and received tomato paste with seeds in it – no flavor, tasteless. Disappointment at it’s best. I’ll stick with the delicious Jalapenos!

This place is really good food. We split nachos for the kids because the kids meals seemed a little higher priced then what we are use to. The service was really really good. Rebecca was fantastic. Definitely some place we will eat again.

This is our perennial go to in Saint George. The food is always fresh and yummy! The regular salsa isn’t great, so if you can handle it, get the spicy salsa… Delicious!!! Sit at the bar, the bartenders are friendly and will do the best they can to make you a delicious drink DESPITE the ridiculous Utah state liquor laws… Favorite dishes are shrimp tacos,(even though it’s the desert the shrimp is big and fresh), chicken enchiladas, fajitas, bistek ranchero! And the guac is divine, not spicy so add some lime and mix with the spicy salsa for a delicious bite!!! Word to the wise, the restaurant side is a WHOLE different experience. Not my favorite vibe but if you need a loud family restaurant with good affordable food, sit in the restaurant, although on a busy night you might have a wait… Bottom line this place is YUM!!!

I really wanted to like this place. After reading reviews my better half wasn’t so hot on coming here, but I was loving the idea of an ice cold margarita so he relented. Go me! Anyway, we walk in tonight(Tuesday) the place is like a ghost town but onward I push toward my frosty treat. After standing at the front for about 5 minutes without being acknowledged, a nice young man walks up and shows us to our table. Okay maybe this will work out after all. We sit down and wait another few minutes in an almost empty place for a friendly waitress to walk up and ask if we wanted drinks. I asked her about what kind of margaritas they had and she seemed puzzled for a minute and said«the house ones are good» I asked about flavors and she paused and said Strawberry. Okay, not things aren’t looking so hot to me now either at this point. I ask if they have mango and she says yes, great I order mango. She leaves and we listen to the only other people we can see in the place complain about the food and their waitress disappearing for extended periods of time. Since we’re on vacation I say to my better half, let’s just drink our drinks and find somewhere else to eat. We were hungry and wanted to have a good time and good food. At this point the waitress had dropped off a small bowl of chips and something that resembles salsa. The chips were good the salsa was literally terrible. I didn’t even know it was possible to make bad salsa. I love salsa and don’t think I’ve ever tasted any I thought was awful. I mean how do you screw that up? Anyway the drinks arrive and we inform our waitress we won’t be ordering food, we’ll just have our drinks and go. She said«no problem». About 10 minutes later we ask for the check and she brings it. I look over it and notice they charged us $ 6.91 for the bowl of chips and salsa we didn’t order, she just brought to the table and by the way we didn’t eat more than 5 chips. I ask the waitress about the charge and she said«Sorry, we have to do that if you don’t order food» WHAT? I said ummm no, I don’t mind giving you a couple of bucks but that’s ridiculous. She goes back and lowers it to 3.91. I just laughed and decided not to ruin our night by making a scene and we left. This place is a joke. We left and went to a place down the road called George’s Corner Pub and had great food and a nice time. By the way, there was one redeeming quality the margarita was good.

I agree with some of the other reviewers who said the salsa was not great… It’s not. I got the chicken taquitos and they were pretty good but I think those are hard to mess up. My mom had nachos and loved them. They were a little greasy but very delicious apparently. The service was great!!! Our waitress was so incredibly helpful and nice. I will definitely be back to try more on the menu.

6÷6÷2015 Not a good place we ordered our food which was not very well prepared my husband had a red chili beef which was just cut up meat drenched in a tobacco sauce. Good thing he likes a bit of tobacco. I had a taco salad it was ok Service — very poor when she brought our food she slopped it on my side and all over the seat. Then we never saw saw her again until we finished eating and she gave us the bill Couple in the booth behind us we’re also complaining that his food was just Luke warm and he wanted it taken off bill .dont know if it was resolved Anyway St George is not the place to have Mexican food. Or at least not Pancho & Leftys.

Short and sweet: Salsa is terrible. Meats(carne asada and carnitas) were good. Taco was Old El Paso from the local grocery store. Atmosphere was typical for a Mexican place, not too shabby. Margaritas were okay, but of course we’re in Utah so… yeah.

Endless chips and salsa, fresh ingredients, good service, and delicious food. I will definitely be coming back! I ordered the enchiladas with a chile verde sauce. The chile verde was sooo good! Others had chimichanga. Some Mexican salad which tasted and looked amazing. Order with the green sauce!
