Always blown away by the food and so welcomed and comforted by the wonderful atmosphere/service!

I’ve been waiting to get in here for a long time. I’ve always read wonderful things about the food and was anxious to try it. We’ve tried just walking in on several occasions but the place is always booked. This time my sister and her husband were visiting so we made reservations. The service was a 4.8. The waiter was a 5 out of 5. He was so personable and professional. The person who brought the food out brought the service level down by reaching across the table to serve. We were at a round table in the middle of the room and there was no reason for that. The food unfortunately was just ok. The fish servings were more like ½ a serving, The flat iron steak was not tender at all. Maybe it was an off night for the chef but I doubt if we’ll be back.

A safe bet for date night. Really good food(the duck) cozy and not too loud. Prices are on the high side but not to expensive

Always on top of their game. Service is excellent. Ambiance is quiet and refined. Good place for good food and conversation. BYOB or buy from them. Decent selection. Cash only.

Another Great Meal at The Kitchen. Our waiter Gene, always a pleasure. The food outstanding, though the squid ink pasta could be a little more squidy. Duck perfectly cooked, Salted Caramel Dessert great!

This place is so inventive with their dishes. It really is a wonderful time. The waiter was very knowledgable about the menu. I had the squid ink pasta with calamari in a spicy tomato sauce. Just the right amount of spicey I had the crispy Black Sea bass with celery root purée and pork. It sounds like a strange combo but it sure tasted great. I usually get the duck breast which is the best I ever had, but tried something different. This place delivers in all fronts. Try it for yourself, you’ll know what I mean!

The reviews are right on. The place has not changed a thing since the old Mirabelle days. Bring your own wine is always a plus and another plus for no fee corkage. Cash only I can see putting people off and frankly I would not mind but he is my one gripe. Portion sizes here are a tad on the small size for the price you are paying. We had two apps and two entrees, brought our own wine and the bill was over 100 bucks and we left a bit hungry. The food is great don’t get me wrong, just portion size or drop the price a bit to match. Iron steak and duck were fantastic, duck skin could of used a few more minutes in the pan as there was some fat still underneath, not perfect but good.

I ate here for the 3rd time last night. It has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants. We did the 5 course tasting menu which actually ended up being about 8 courses with all the extras they give you. Their menu changes almost daily, which is definitely part of the appeal. I’ve never had anything I didn’t like there and their unique menu has encouraged me to branch out and try new foods. They also allow you to bring your own bottle of wine, which is definitely a plus. The first couple times I went I felt strange bringing my own wine but when I looked around and saw how common place it was, I decided to bring it this time around.

I dined here years ago when it was at the old location a very small hole in the wall(size not quality) and I was sooo impressed with the flavor of all the food and the service. I ordered something can’t remember because it was over 5 years ago and it looked so small my heart sank because let’s face it .it was a French Resturant and they can be expensive… but I will tell you I was busting out of my skinny jeans hahahah… so don’t judge a book by its cover!!! Amazing place!!! Well worth every penny. I havent been to their new location yet but I will soon…

Excellent birthday dinner there. The place is on the dark side but that’s my only complaint. It’s probably the closest thing around here to the trendy locally farm sourced restaurants of Brooklyn and Manhattan. Staff is very friendly and professional

Had the chef specials. Talk about sensational. I think it was a total of 7 courses and I must say they were absolutely to die for. My boyfriend and I tried many new things that we didn’t think we would like. It was funny because every time we tasted a new plate, we would look at each other with such excitement because EVERYTHING was great. I think I said mmmmmm for every platter. The chef came out explained every course and you can just tell the passion behind everything. Love is definitely the secret ingredient. A little on the pricey side but if you are looking to go on a date somewhere classy, private and where the food is going to blow your mind… this is the place to be.

I made a reservation for valentine’s day for a booth. They weren’t able to accommodate me at the time I wanted but they had a booth available for an earlier dinner at 5:30. I accepted the time and booked. Since the reservations were made so much in advance, I called in to confirm today, and they gave my booth a way to someone else. And blamed the one who took my reservation for not inputting it correctly. Of course, its not possible to get a reservation anywhere else this late in the game. Thank you for ruining what was to be a special night out.

This place was quaint and wonderful. Firstly, we were late for our reservation,(which was already cutting it close to when the kitchen closed)… but they sat us no problem and seemed to have no issue at all. Then we were sat in a cute tiny corner table. The staff was kind and around enough to be attentive, but didn’t hover. They respected changes to the menu and answered all our questions. It’s definitely a little cute gem. Oh yeah, and the food was PHENOMENAL :) My pumpkin martini that I had ordered at the time was lacking a bit– whatever cream product they used curdled a little(but being a bartender myself I do have to admit I am picky about my drinks). All in all, a definite must-go-to place. I’d definitely go again :)

I love love Kitchen A Bistro But yesterday not so much the dining room is gorgeous and intimate but the mood lighting is a little low for mature eyes The staff are fabulous and attentive I had the Charcuterie Board, Pickles, Crostini it had brie cheese on it which was two smears, 2 tiny pickles, 4 small slices of chorizo, pork pâté about the size of a 50 cent piece, 4 slices of thin crostini and another pâté that was very thin slice. It was lacking and so small I had the duck breast for dinner It was a nice slice of duck breast with minimal Brussel sprouts and a purée of butternut squash about 1 tbsp. I had the apple tart with vanilla ice cream. It was a 3 inch round with a 2 tbsp. of ice cream about ½ inch I was hungry after dinner. I could not believe how small the portions were. I have went to this restaurant before and did not notice such small portions But the food is outstanding in its flavor

The food here is delicious. My husband and I each had 3 courses and one was better than the next. As an appetizer, I highly recommend the gnocchi tomato confit… it’s a cheese based«noodle» instead of the typical potato recipe and it did not disappoint… smooth, creamy texture that melts in your mouth and the tomato confit nicely complemented the flavor of the gnocchi. My husband raved about his appetizer, the bucatini pork ragu, and he absolutely loved his entrée — the braised/seared lamb… cooked and flavored to perfection! Dessert was good too but we would have liked to see more of a choice on the menu. Definitely love the byow concept. Just something to keep in mind… this is a cash only restaurant. Highly recommend this restaurant.

DInner: three courses for my wife, four for me, 7 pm on a Saturday, so prime time. food: outstanding, five stars by far. Corn ravioli was the best ravioli of any filling that I have ever had, and I’ve seen a lot of ravioli in my time. Outside of the Hamptons, best food I have had on Long Island. I’d be willing to forgive a lot for food this good. Note that my review is not five stars. See below. drink: BYOB is still allowed w/no corkage fee, for better or for worse — we enjoyed the wine we brought, but did not enjoy the inebriation from the crew with the cooler(yes, cooler) sitting behind us. If you come to KAB, please leave the Coronas at home. Please. Full bar is available, but my wife’s drink order was wrong … service: Earnest, kind, patient, and scattered. Our server(Gene?) bent over backwards to keep us happy. He needed to bend a lot — either our entrée tickets blew out the window, or they had to catch my fish … our reservations were for 7 pm(and had to wait), and we were leaving at 9:30 pm. Granted — a lot of our check was comped, and not because we asked for it to be so. So there is that. But as my wife said, she’d prefer to pay for timely movement from the line. Gordon Ramsay would be calling someone out as a donkey in the KAB kitchen for certain. Other service notes: had to ask for bread, was forkless when entrees came around, but Gene is the man and was so gracious and apologetic. Though we must have been helped by maybe three different servers … The room: Noisy, b/c crowded. Crowded enough that there’s not much they could do about the noise. A/C is uneven, as the street-side extension has no vents. Now that I’ve pretty much slammed the joint, let me get back to the nut — «but how is the food?!» The food is ultra-amazing, and we will be back. I feel like a lot of the issues we experienced were just bad luck or bad timing — we’ll be back to give KAB a second chance, and hopefully Gene is there, b/c he was the best.

Our dining group ate at at Kitchen A Bistro on Sunday, 8⁄16. The food and presentation were amazing(as evinced by the photos I posted).Members enjoyed the Lamb Pasta with Brocolli Rabe, the Arctic Char, the Smoked Pork Shoulder appetizer, the Scallops and the Seared Duck Breast. Desserts were incredibly good. Notables were the Rhubarb Meringue Sundae, Chocolate Cashew Caramel Tart, Choclate Pudding and the Roated Peaches and Cream Tart Sorbet. The Bring Your Own Wine policy rocks… and makes dinner conversations more animated. Minor complaint: the check did not itemize what was ordered which made settling the check difficult. They should work on this… but you come here for the food and it was fabulous! Cannot wait to return.

Hello Kitchen A Bisto fans! If you see this place offered the next time there is a Long Island Restaurant week, this place should be your first choice above the others. It threw me off at first when the Price Fixe was tweaked, but now it makes sense. Normal pricing would be $ 27 for a fish entrée A typical appetizer is $ 11 dollars Dessert(if you want it) is about $ 10 This actually works out CHEAPER is you don’t eat dessert.(who doesn’t eat dessert? You strange strange person) More choices at the Kitchen A Bistro restaurant group. Keep rockin’ it Chef Eric!
