They were amazing! I called from California to have a couple dozen cupcakes delivered to a client of mine in St Joseph. I called last min on the Friday before Valentine’s Day — being prepared for them to say they were out of cupcakes. But they put together a nice gift bag, delivered it with a card from me within 90 min, and my clients couldn’t have been happier — saying«You know Mimi’s makes the best cupcakes in Mich!» So I guess I made the best choice. Thank you Mimi for the great service!

Drove here because it was the only«gourmet» cupcake shop that came up when I was looking for one within a reasonable distance from our home. When we arrived our first impression was that the cupcakes didn’t look like anything spectacular. We have purchased from other gourmet cupcake shops when on vacation on the other side of the state, they are much larger and are decorated to be more pleasing to the eye, while being very comparable in price. However, we decided to give them a try anyway because my daughter wanted them for her birthday with a couple of friends. I was assured they would last the 5 days until her birthday so we bought 6 cupcakes, 2 of which my husband and I wanted for later that evening. Unfortunately, with the first bite, we felt like we were eating week old cupcakes. They were dry and didn’t have much flavor. My daughter and her friends had theirs 5 days later and weren’t impressed either. We purchased 6 different flavors and each person who had one said the same thing… dry and just not very good. Overall, not worth the price. I should have just made cupcakes myself.

Saw Mimi’s shop last fourth of July and made the mistake of waiting till the evening to get cupcakes. They were sold out! This year I went early, but I walked past in the evening and it looked like they were still going strong. My best guess is that they had around 45 flavors options. I tried the chocolate peanut butter cup with peanut butter frosting, my husband had orange with butter cream, and we bought a chocolate with cherry filling and a plane jane for my in-laws. We were super impressed with the flavor. Thought there was a good icing-to-cupcake ratio. I do think my husbands orange cupcake was tastier than my chocolate one. Some reviews said they were dry. I did think they’d be even better if they were moister, but they weren’t dry. I’ll still be back every time I’m in the area.

Elvie is amazing! Mimi’s provided the cupcakes for our wedding and they could not have been better. Elvie is so welcoming and easy to work with. Best cupcakes ever!!! Thank you!

Got the salted Carmel pretzel and was underwhelmed. Buttercream frosting was seemed a little stale and the cupcake itself was just like Devils food with a few pretzels pushed into the top. Probably won’t come back.

We purchased a few cupcakes: German chocolate, salted caramel pretzel, peanut butter cup. Sadly, all were dry, and despite assurances that the frosting was buttercream, it was grainy and much too sweet. Disappointing.

Visiting from Chicago, Have a house in New Buffalo. Drive up to St. Joes for day. Lovely town. Stopped in to Mimi“s and saw the beautiful cupcakes from the window. Each sounded more delicious then the next. Could not decide so purchased a dozen. $ 30 is not cheap. Tasted red velvet first, no cream cheese frosting which is unheard of for red velvet. Cake was dense, dry. Maybe a fluke, thought lets not rush to judgement. Tasted the banana cupcake. Loads of banana flavor but also dry. Frosting too sweet. Had another red velvet, the same. So disappointed.

Great cupcakes at a great price. Quite a variety to choose from. I had the S’mores cupcake and it was great!

Wonderful, delicious cupcakes! We ordered them for our wedding and they were a hit! The customer service was phenomenal. They were thoughtful and caring. They even went above and beyond and delivered a few gluten free cupcakes for a special order the day of the wedding. I highly recommend them!

We were thrilled to discover that Mimi’s now has a permanent storefront in downtown St. Joe’s — in addition to their truck(which we used to enjoy tracking down in a variety of spots in Southwest Michigan). They still have a limited variety of cupcake flavors like Strawberry, Pistachio, Cookies & Cream — we ordered a half dozen and sat at one of the small tables out front to devour them. The cakes themselves are dense and fairly most — with a bit too much frosting for my taste but I usually take some off. Mimi’s is a St. Joseph novelty that you have to try at least once.

Cupcakes were dry and taste like they came out of a box. Purchased three cupcakes with all three ending in the trash after one bite. I have had several amazing cupcakes and these are worst. Place was adorable and the staff was great. Too bad the taste of the cupcakes don’t match the décor.

Yummo!!! Truly decadent tasty cupcakes. We had the carrot, chocolate that tasted like a truffle or brownie and the blueberry. The chocolate one was truly decadent. It was our first time trying. Almost made five stars. .I think a bit over priced $ 2.75 for a mini cupcake. Too much icing for the tiny cupcake. But truly delicious.

My husband surprised me with a visit to Mimi Cupcakes while we were in Michigan for the Memorial Day Weekend. I am a hobbyist cupcake baker and avid cupcake eater. I’ve tried cupcake bakeries from Australia to Portland to Florida and places in-between on my travels. I know cupcakes! I ordered the Little Miss Sunshine and my husband had the Willie Wonka. The Little Miss Sunshine is a lemon cupcake with a buttercream frosting. I was so disappointed with the quality of this cupcake… heavy and dense cake covered with a way-too sugary and gritty frosting. I had two bites and threw the rest away. The Willie Wonka was a tastier cupcake and good. The chocolate cupcake was moist and the double chocolate buttercream was smoother and less sweet than the one on my lemon cupcake. The decorating was non-existent, just a dollop of the frosting piped onto the cakes. I am amazed that people go into business with a lesser quality cupcake that I can bake from scratch myself. I gave it two stars because the chocolate Willie Wonka cake was moist. I would not go back to Mimi’s based on my experience.

Adorable and delicious cupcakes! Liz and Emily were so nice and flexible with our wedding order. We had the mini’s and are happy to have way too many leftovers ;) I just wish they would keep their website updated with new flavors– more so for out-of-towners like me who are getting married in St. Joe, but live in Chicago. I know that there are a ton of good cupcake shops out here(Molly’s and Swirl), but I will continue to stop by the truck on my road trips between Chicago and Detroit. ALSO the kids at our wedding went nuts over the mini cupcakes– nearly plowing us over after we cut our cake :)

I really enjoyed the tastes of the frostings and batters except for one. I felt the red velvet flavor didn’t stand out like I wanted it to. I also think maybe you should come with different size choices, since there are no utensils. Over all, I would come again.
