What could be better than a good(and cheap!) curry chicken plate after a day on the beach? I tried this place on my vacation in St. Peres and the food was heavenly! The service was incredible too. People who haven’t tried Thai food should start with this place, for sure. Get the curry plates if you like spicy. And they also have a unique sushi menu, but I haven’t tried it. Good Thai spot overall!

Best sushi and Thai. Very busy as the place is small. Family run. I’ve eaten here several times and always been impressed. Prices also reasonable.

Meh. The classics Tom Kha and Tom Yum were way below average, and I can’t tell you about the main course, because we’re still waiting for it 45min after we had our soups. I was lingering about submitting this, since I can understand that sometimes things can get busy. But then, after finally getting waitress’ attention, I’m learning, that apparently they had a lot of call-in to go orders, and that’s why… I see now — screw the customers in the room, let’s get as many orders as we can, nevermind that we can’t handle it. Clueless. Don’t waste your time on this place.

My sushi was wonderful. We went on the Monday after Christmas, and the place was slammed with people who seemed less than pleasant. The servers were definitely giving it their all — we found out later they were short one person anyway, and I’m certain the crowd and large groups didn’t help. I ordered the nigiri appetizer. We sat at the sushi bar, so I asked the sushi chef to make it all raw and no mayo, and he did. It was delightful. I also ordered the Rainbow Roll, which I couldn’t finish but will after I finish this review. My dining companion ordered the crispy duck, which seemed to be mostly breading, fat, and pineapple sauce. That’s a shame; we’ve ordered it here before and it has been excellent. Last night I would have encouraged him to send it back, but given how hard everyone was trying to accommodate the crowds, I didn’t have the heart. I’ll chalk it up to one bad night and happily review Nori Thai again after the holidays. I would give the sushi portion five stars but the duck brings it down to three. The servers all worked together and it was not a bad experience, and our sushi chef was wonderful. I would encourage people reading this who are on the fence about Nori Thai to give them a try, because largely we have great experiences there and the people who work there are concerned with giving you a good dining experience.

My daughter and I visited here for the first time tonight. We arrived at 615, and after 4 minutes every table was taken. We started with the seaweed salad, green salad, and the basil rolls. Basil rolls were awesome…3 come to an order. Green salad with the ginger dressing was actually a little spicy. Ordered the salmon nigiri. A California hand roll, the veggie toll. The favorite was the bakery roll. We will return!

Great food and service. If you are in the mood for Thai or Japanese food this is the place to go in St. Petersburg FL. The sushi rolls are large and taste great.

Here in St. Pete’s Beach for a short beach trip and we had a craving for Thai. Found this place through Unilocal and were not disappointed. Food was out quickly and tasty. We had Pad See Ew, Veggie Green Curry and the«Thank You» sushi roll. All was quite good. Quote from wife«My mouth is burning but I can’t stop eating». You can chose the level of heat you want in your dish. We picked medium. If you’re here and looking for a good dinner, we recommend you give it a try.

Visiting St Pete’s Beach with the family and was recommended this place by the hotel’s front desk. This place is a mix of Thai food and sushi. We ordered several dishes between the varieties. Being the sushi lover that I am, I ordered the chirashi dinner. For the price of $ 19, I have never seen so many pieces of sashimi in one bowl. And I’ve tried chirashi all over, mostly around Atlanta. The portions were generous but I would have preferred more variety of fish. The flavor just seemed meh compared to others that I had. However, I’m not discounting the quality of the fish. It was decent. Our table also ordered the sashimi Mori which strangely enough had less pieces of fish than my chirashi. We also got the pad Thai and some curry dish. Overall, it was a good experience. We ordered too much food and had to take a lot of it in a to go box. And our waitress(can’t remember her name) was very funny and personable. Would definitely consider coming here again if we’re ever in that area.

So I ordered spring rolls, hot and sour soup and a chicken and shrimp special. Well as always the food was great, BUT the waitress spilled the sauce from the chicken dish on my lap. She also was running around crazy and it really wasn’t busy. I had to keep calling her for more ice tea. I’ve had her wait on me previously when we came in. I don’t care for her. She always calls me hun. I am not eating in a diner. Other then that the food is great! I’ll be back

Nori Thai is a smaller Thai restaurant that also features Japanese. I wouldn’t call it a fusion place, as the majority of the offerings were in one cuisine or the other. The service was what I’d expect from a family run establishment… Hospitable, without the excess consumer oriented faux niceness. The dining area was average-I wasn’t bothered or impressed. The menu offered many options. I wasn’t in the mood for sushi, so I went with the fresh basil rolls and the panang curry-Thai spicy. The rolls were as tasty, larger than typical, and served with actual prawns in the filling. The sauce they served with it, left me asking for something else to dip it in. They paced the meal well, as I had casually eaten two when my curry arrived. The curry also contained a mixed assortment of vegetables-zucchini, peppers, and onions. The sauce wasn’t quite spicy enough, but I’ve come expect that to always be the case. Until a restaurant knows you can handle it, they always err on the safe side. It was still quite tasty, even though the chicken was overcooked. And, unfortunately, in the end, the tough texture somewhat spoiled the dish. Would I go back? Probably, but I might try the other Thai place in town first. Also, one final caveat… I lived in Seattle for a while and consequently, my standard for good Thai food is a bit higher than most.

Nori Thai is on the north end of St Pete Beach in a small strip mall next to Rip Tides and across the street from a Winn Dixie supermarket. Parking is a little tight, but don’t be tempted to park next door in Mermaids or across at Winn Dixie as you will probably get towed. For my review, we’ll save the best for last, which is the food. The interior of the place is very dated. It’s a collection of small tables and chairs with some booths along the walls; they all look like they’re from the early 90’s, some of the seating is torn, some torn, patched and torn again. The bathrooms are reasonably clean most of the time but not exactly somewhere I’d want to change my baby, although with no baby changing table, I guess that won’t come up either way. The only real decorations are the random stereotypical elephant-based tapestries you see in nearly every Thai restaurant. None of this is really all that important compared to the food and service, just wanted to let you know what to expect. The service is typically nice and attentive. Have not had a bad server experience yet. Now, the food & drinks. There are two Thai places on St Pete Beach, the other being Basil Leaf, and both have the unusual characteristic of also having a sushi bar. If you’re only looking at this review from a sushi perspective, there’s a third place for that, which is Blue Fugu Japanese Steakhouse. For strictly sushi, I prefer Basil Leaf. If you have any liquor drinkers in your party, you should know that only Blue Fugu has liquor, the other two are just beer, wine and sake. Anyway, I find that I like Nori Thai and Basil Leaf about equally. They both have excellent food, however, the interesting thing is that one or the other may do a particular entrée completely different, and it may taste completely different. I’m not going to turn my review into an A-B comparison for each line item on the menu, so I’ll just say you’ll simply have to try both(if you’re a local) and figure out which one you prefer for the types of things you typically order. If you’re on vacation, I don’t think you can go wrong with either one, so just check their menus online and pick based on what you see, you’ll probably be happy either way. Basil Leaf is definitely much nicer inside from a décor perspective. One menu item I’ve found differs dramatically enough to make mention of it; that’s the panang curries. I love panang chicken and it’s typically the first thing I try at any Thai restaurant. If you look at my pictures for both restaurants, you’ll find that the chicken panang looks nothing like one another. At Nori Thai, the coconut milk takes a much lesser role, so you will not taste coconut anywhere near as much as is typical at most Thai restaurants. There is also less of the curry, where Basil Leaf’s entrée comes out with the meat and veggies nearly submerged in it. I’ve found both to taste excellent, they just don’t taste anything like one another. You get plenty of white rice included to eat up all the main dish so that’s not an issue either way. Completely unrelated is Nori Thai’s hot & sour soup. If you’re accustomed to Japanese hot & sour, make sure you understand that Thai hot & sour is not the same or even similar. Nori’s tastes strongly like orange fruit, and is not particularly spicy. It’s very good though, just want to make people aware that if all they’ve had is Japanese/Chinese hot & sour, this is not that. It’s fairly filling too as theirs has large chunks of chicken, big mushrooms, etc.

Loved this restaurant! We are here two days in a row. Second day went back for the mango sticky rice. Loved the Rama, chicken vegetable soup, tempura, sushi rolls, sashimi, and especially dessert.

This small little Thai place on St Pete Beach has been around for ages. The staff is very friendly, especially if you’re a regular there. You can tell by looking around that a lot of the restaurant is full of regulars by how familar the waitresses are with them. That’s a great sign of a really good restaurant, especially when there are so many other choices(including other Thai food) within a 2 block radius. I’m not a regular, so service for me has been a little slower than others, but I don’t really mind. The food is great and the prices are great. I’ve gone a couple of times at lunch and I can never finish my meal there, and I leave for under $ 10, including tip. I tend to only get curry dishes at Thai restaurants, so that’s all I can attest to, but the curry dishes have been very good. I would highly recommend this Thai restaurant.

Wow — great service and great food. Inventive take on sushi. All the appetizers are handmade… The shrimp in a blanket is amazing! The sushi is all fresh and the service was so friendly and fast
