I’m giving it four stars because we did have to wait pretty long before the waiter took our order and then it took long to get our food as well. Other than that it’s a nice place with good food and awesome dessert!

A better choice for lunch in downtown but if you have the choice to go further, go further. Tried one of their sashimi dishes this week, absolutely disappointing in both the quality of the fish as well as the rice.

It was a different environment. Decent food. Chicken was a little bland… but I would go back again.

One of my favorite spots for lunch. The lunch specials are a great value, with salad, rice, egg roll, and fried wonton included. My favorite lunch is the Tempura Shrimp, that comes with Tempura Fried broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, and onions. Service here has always been good, although it does get busy at peak lunch times, a small wait to be seated, or to have your order taken does happen. Great job Lemongrass !

I give this 4 stars. The fish was fresh in the salmon zap salad but the knife skills of the chef were sub par. The flavor was great but the salmon was cut the wrong direction making it a little chewy. The Idako was good with a good cucumber salad garnish. The reason I gave it four stars is due to the sushi. The rice in the sushi was over cooked and sticky. The fish was cut into huge chunks inside the rolls and weren’t uniform. The large pieces of fish while fresh made for pretty big roles that we’re difficult to eat in one bite especially with the overcooked rice. Next time I will be getting thai food and not sushi. Service was good as well so overall I give it four.

For a pleasant dinning experience punctuated by outstanding service, «The Lemon Grass» is worth a stop if you in Downtown St. Petersburg. The Lemon Grass offers fairly large serving portions and variety of both Japanese and Thai dishes that will satisfy most pallets. Given that this was the first time at this restaurant we were fortunate to have a couple of outstanding waiters(Art and Tee) provide solid recommendations with great customer service. Recommend the crunch roll special(see pic). For those not so into raw fish, they have many alternative sushi options. Their seaweed salad was also well done. Lastly, don’t forget to try their Thai iced tea or coffee.

I’ve been here twice with friends, both times hoping for an easy meal and both time receiving exactly what I wanted and then some. The first time was a weekend lunch(my friend and I had been drawn in by looking online and seeing they had lunch deals only to find out they were only for during the week) and more recently a week day dinner. Each time we had delicious food and good service. The Restaurant is a fairly small place on Central Ave, aided in size by it’s outdoor seating. The décor is a little cluttered, but still charming and modern. At night, I found the restaurant itself a little dark, but during the day, the windows taking up an entire wall of the restaurant made it so that wasn’t a problem at all. Despite being a semi-small restaurant, the tables are(thankfully) large, which is good because the plates here are very large indeed. The service here has been very good both times. They’re attentive and quick with their food. The second time I visited the Lemon Grass, they forgot to give me the seaweed salad that I ordered and when I alerted them, they apologized profusely, got it to me quickly, and let me know it wouldn’t be on the bill. The food here is pretty good. It’s not the best sushi in the area, nor is it the best Thai, etc. etc., but it’s good. And there’s a lot of it. While most Japanese and Thai restaurants tend to give servings that are on the smaller side, Lemon Grass does not. The plates are huge. I’m someone that can usually eat 2 full sushi rolls and I could easily be satisfied by 1 of theirs. Their sashimi dinner included pieces of fish about twice as big as I’m used to seeing when I order sashimi. My partner’s response upon receiving his noodle dish was an astonished ‘look at the size of this plate!’ So, if you’re not too hungry, order something that will be good the next day because you’ll almost definitely have leftovers if you want them. However, possibly because of the large servings, the prices can be just a little bit high. Know that when you’re ordering, you’re getting your money’s worth in food quantity and quality. It’s just that they don’t really have any ‘cheap’ entrée options(except for those weekday lunch specials). It’s up to you whether the balance is really worth it. All in all, I really enjoy this restaurant, and plan on keeping it in my pocket for a quick, easy, and filling place to go when I’m in St. Pete.

Good Thai food in downtown St Pete. I enjoyed the ambience and food. Most Thai restaurants are suitable so I generally enjoy them. This one was pretty good as well I had some sushi and coconut milk soup. I also tried the massaman curry with chicken and shrimp I enjoyed both. The service could have been friendly but I was there late and they apparently wanted to close Other than that I would go again

The Lemon Grass is a Thai/Japanese restaurant on Central Ave in St Pete. I decided to try this place out even though it didn’t have a great rating. Well, I think the rating is appropriate but I lean more towards 3 stars because the flavor of my chicken panang was off. For some strange reason, it had a fishy taste to it. Maybe the cook used the same utensils on my dish that they used on a fish dish? I’m not sure of the reason but it’s the reason I didn’t eat everything on my plate. But the service was good. My Thai coffee was great. I liked the ginger strawberry salad that was included with the lunch special, as was a spring roll and wonton. So for $ 7.95 not bad but I doubt I’ll return as there are so many other dining options in the area, including a couple other Thai restos.

I have to admit, I’m pretty obsessed with this place. I work downtown, so I have to stop in for to go food at least once a week. The shrimp fried rice is my go to! The shrimp are large and the rice is seriously the best I’ve ever had. I’ve heard really good things about the sushi too, it just isn’t my thing.

Service is outstanding. The food is fantastic. They offer a great fresh sushi. The red hot chili Pepper is a favorite. Try the big daddy if you are up for a big fish roll. One of the best Asian options downtown.

Absolute perfection! Each meal is decadent to the eye and a gift to the tongue.“Art” — a server there always sets the ambiance with the best music playlists!!! A.J. Will never let your glass go half empty, as he always provides excellent customer service, and greets by name. If you’d like to just stop in for a drink and sushi, sitting at the sushi bar is always a treat. Throughout the years, they have continued to keep cleanliness, quality, and presentation at a high, all while keeping prices low! The Lemongrass is my #1 recommendation for Thai cuisine.

I was a little skeptical that a restaurant offering both thai and sushi could do both well. However, I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food! I was with a large group and we all ordered different dishes to share. We had green curry, panang curry, beef & broccoli, Pad keep mao noodles, and two sushi rolls(Weezer Roll and Ebony & Ivory Roll). The sushi was very good, but I have to say the thai food was slightly better. Everyone’s favorite was the pad kee mao noodles, I would definitely order it again! The curry was also great.

I’m a little obsessed with Asian food in general, I eat it at least twice a week. Sushi is what lead me into more Asian food, so I have some serious love for it. This place is becoming one of my new favorite sushi spots. The portions are larger than I expected, and we accidentally ordered wayyyyy too much. We had to call a friend to come and help us finish, and we still had a full to-go box. We ordered the spring rolls(which were okay) and the shrimp tempura(which wasn’t the best, wasn’t the worse I’ve ever had). We both said we wished we would have skipped these since we couldn’t finish the sushi, which was the star of the evening. I ordered the tom kha gai soup and I will order it again ASAP. The flavors were perfect, and the fresh tomato thrown in before serving(vs cooking it in the soup) was perfect. It reminded me of a curry flavor, which was what I was going to order for my entrée but the sushi looked too good. We ordered 5 rolls total. The Red hot chilli pepper(my boyfriends fav), big bopper(My fav), spicy tuna, the lemon grass signature roll, and the big daddy. All of them will be ordered again, but I don’t see me rushing out for the lemon grass signature.(It didn’t taste bad, it just wasn’t my personal favorite blend of flavors.) The sushi came out fast and the portions of fish in each roll were larger than I expected. Our server was attentive, and helped me remember which Asian beer was my favorite(they have at least 5 or 6). He recommended the big bopper and big daddy roll, and we were very happy with everything.

Nice quality thai food choices. When I’m really hungry I order their lunchbox special which comes with salad, potstickers, rice or veggies, sushi and a curry or lunch menu item. I love the fact that this place plays old 1990s R&B hits! Yes, this place always has a good vibe going with their background funk!(Mariah, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, usher…) Green, red and panang curry — always delicious. :-) Rice, ginger salad, pot stickers, everything.

Great service Good food Convenient location, especially when you’re downtown. This was my first time here and my red curry had some much flavor and was full of vegetables I will definitly be back. Everyone at our table had a great meal and had enough to take leftovers home. Delicious!
