This review applies strictly to sushi. I think they have sushi just to go with their theme but really are just a night club. The case of fish looks absolutely disgusting.

This is one of our favorite sushi places. Located in down town St. Pete makes it a prime location for night life after dinner. Unfortunately it has closed down. I have my suspicions but it would be socially incorrect to post them on Unilocal.Really liked this place and we are sad to see it go.

How haven’t I reviewed this place yet? Just terrible and absolutely unfresh fish. The sashimi actually tasted fishy and all funny business aside, chunks of fresh fish should smell like that. I tossed it to the side not eating the rest. I was then forced to sniff test the rest of my food. I got the Spicy Tuna Roll which was decent but I was all ready so turned off by the terrible sashimi I was worried about the freshness of the tuna in my roll! The ginger was meeeeeh. The only thing that was good was the over priced small slice of key lime pie I had. Ohhh well. Just do yourself a favor and skip this place. Don’t go to the club either… terrible waste over priced drinks beyond belief… I suggest The Lemongrass on Central before coming here!

I came here early on a Friday evening to treat myself to good sushi on a Groupon. Shame on me. I was not impressed by this place at all. The bartender was meh. He was quick, the food came out quickly. But the sushi was tasteless. I got a specialty roll and a regular California roll, and honestly couldn’t tell the difference between the two. They tasted like nothing. The ginger dressing on the salad was good. The cocktail menu is very interesting. That’s one redeeming quality. This place tries to be hip and modern. It is very dark inside like a club. The mood music is nice. None of the staff is very friendly. I wouldn’t come back here, even with a groupon. But I hear the club upstairs is fun. I may have to check that out and edit my review. But for now, still very unimpressed.

Restaurant Review: 2STARS Huh? How have I not reviewed this place yet. Very odd, since I’ve been here a few times. Probably forgot to write a review because it was an easily forgettable experience. The environment here is the best part. They have tried to be chic, modern, hip in the design of the restaurant. They did well with that. The parts where they are sorely lacking is the service and the food, which is the reason you come to a restaurant anyway, right? I don’t come to eat crappy sushi but look at the wall and think«Wow, that is a nice painting they have there on the wall». Well, that’s what happens here. Last time I came with a few friends for later night sushi on a weekend. The service was horribly slow and it was not even very busy in there. We had to flag the waitress down everytime we wanted something. More water? Nope, you’ll have to ask 3 times for that. Need more ginger with your sushi? Sorry for ya… The sushi itself is okay, nothing that great. It didn’t seem very fresh or flavorful to me. Not alot of care was put into making it, which was obvious. I have to say I actually like the«fast food» sushi from Rollbotto around the corner much better than theirs. For what it is, Vue is a nicer place as to soak up the ambience of DTSP and grab a drink at the bar, but for sushi it’s subpar. I take my sushi seriously, so in the future I’ll go somewhere that serves up a decent roll. Nightclub Review: 1.5 stars I’ve been to the night club many times, but not by my own choice. Only because friends literally grabbed my arm and dragged me up here. The security guards waiting downstairs to permit you in the door and on the elevator up to the 19th floor are just plain annoying. Very pretentious. They act as if they are about to give you VIP access to the best club in the world(not true). Once you arrive upstairs and head to the big bar in the middle of the room, prepare to dump your wallet upside down and empty out a big amount of bucks for a weak, poorly made drink. Heck, even when I came here on ladies drink free night, I still couldn’t stomach the screwdriver that they made. Blech. The crowd here is W-E-I-R-D. Bunch of WEIRDOs, seriously. Finally, the music usually stinks. Weird mix of top 40 and then some 80s songs thrown in occasionally, in which case the music is older than most of the patrons. The ONLY(and I do mean ONLY) good thing about VUE19 is of course the view from the top. You can see all of downtown and farther, which is a great view on a nice night. However, they don’t let you bring drinks out there, presumably to prevent idiot patrons from throwing the glass over the side. So if you get a drink, you must finish it before you go outside. If you are a nightclub rat who loves to party anywhere, anytime, you may enjoy it; but personally this place is not my cup of tea. Plenty of better ways to spend a Friday night.

I have been to Vue’s club, and I have had their sushi. To start, the club is kind of cool in that its so high up you can look down over the whole city. There are go go dancers and a DJ. It was interesting, and I suppose fun, but my biggest hang up with this club are the bouncers downstairs who let people on to the elevator. They were insanely rude and acted like KGB hunting down Americans. It was a bit excessive. As for the sushi, it’s good. I have had a few of their rolls, and I didn’t hate it. My biggest hang up down in the sushi restaurant is, again, the people. Service isn’t great. I have been twice for sushi(when it wasn’t busy), and both times, waiters disappeared for extended periods of time and barely acknowledged my existence beyond taking my order and bringing my food then later my check. So for me, the staff at Vue 19 is a high detractor.

My review is for the nightclub portion of this establishment. I was recently on a party bus that stopped here for a friends birthday. I’ve heard a lot about this place since it has opened and have always been meaning to go, so this was the perfect opportunity. It is definitely one of the better places in my opinion in the St. Pete area if you are looking for a «nightclub» kind of night. It is a different kind of concept for a club so that makes it refreshing when comparing it to others in the area. The interior of the club is well decorated and swanky. It was a bit tedious to get a drink due to the crowds, but once we caught the bartenders attention she was more than happy to fill our orders and engage in conversation. The music and DJ were pretty standard and being there with a large group amongst a packed dance floor can be fun if that is what you’re into. It was a perfect night out so the view and fresh air from the outdoor area was welcome. It also offered an amazing view of downtown St. Pete. I would say that I will definitely be back when I’m in the area again!

I’m not really a night club fan. I tend to get tired early and don’t like when my feet hurt from dancing around in heels(man, that comment really just aged me). Anyway, I went to Vue this past weekend as a part of a friend’s birthday pub crawl. What a neat place! I loved the, well, «vue» from 19 stories up. The service was kind of ‘meh’, but what can you expect from a crowded club late at night. I probably won’t go back to Vue just because I live so far away, however, this is a good spot for a fancy night out!
