This place doesn’t get the rep it deserves. The sushi is good and the price is not too high. You can also order off the sushi menu for appetizers and desserts.

They have a good unlimited sushi/sake deal, which is nice, but the sushi is sub-par. They use way too much rice, the service was very slow and the fish did not seem too fresh. It’s not a terrible place to go, but only go if you care exclusively about quantity, not quality.

I come here way too often. It’s just such a good deal since sushi can be pretty expensive usually. It’s become the only place we go to for sushi in the area. The hot food I’ve tried is really good too like the rock shrimp and the veggie egg rolls. I’m not saying it’s the best sushi I’ve ever had, but you can try so many different things at a low price– as well as $ 7 unlimited sake. The ginger ice cream is surprisingly great too.

Love the all you can eat! It’s all fresh made to order!!! The green tea ice cream is a must. Very reasonable prices. You can park in the mall and walk over or park behind the Stamford media center. Both are a 5 minute walk. The women’s bathroom was clean. I love this place and would definitely recommend!

The staff is very friendly. My friends and I arrived as they were setting up on the weekend but they let us sit at a table and offered us drinks while we waited. The food though was not the greatest, I’ve had better. They tend to pack on the rice on the rolls and give you very little fish. Not worth the value! As a Stamford resident, I’d rather go out of my way and drive to Orange or Hamden to another sushi buffet for my cravings.

Pleasantly surprised by the food. I wasn’t expecting a lot from an all-you-can-eat menu, but the quality was very good. I enjoyed everything I ordered(sushi, sashimi, sushi rolls) and so did the others I went with. A good way to get a high volume of sushi without breaking the bank. Service was OK. We had a couple different people«waiting» on us so we weren’t sure who our waiter actually was; neither person introduced themselves. The only interaction we had with someone waiting on us was one person initially asking us if we wanted all-you-can-eat, and that’s it. After finishing our meal we waited a very long time for anyone to come and ask if we wanted dessert or a check, and eventually ended up flagging someone down because our waiter(s) were nowhere to be found. I would go back again for the food. Also, it looks kind of sketchy from the outside(which is why I took so long to try it) but it’s nicer than that on the inside.

The«All you can eat» sushi is great. I took off two stars due to poor service. I made reservations for dinner and when I came in the only table available was a small table in the corner which didn’t impress me at all as I made reservations for proper seating. Next, it took forever to take my order, I understand your busy but I shouldn’t have to ask for water three times before a staff gets it for me. So finally, when we got water, the glass was dirty! Come on, if you want customers to come back, you need to be a LITTLE bit more ATTENTIVE than that! No complaints about the food, they have great special rolls and sushi rolls. Dessert is good too, had the vanilla ice cream and fried banana.

The sushi is okay. Not bad at all! First things first, our waitress was not trained. She is also 16 years old. She did not get a long with us so she started talking to other waitress about her hard ships with us and it made us feel very uncomfortable and unwanted. They didn’t have Ikura but how we found out was by our miss informed waitress who is claimed she knew what that was and would order it. She kept fluctuating between«I know what that is» and, «I have no idea.» They make you put the entire tables order on ONE sheet. It gets super confusing when the sushi comes out and you forgot who ordered what. Extremely stupid decision on their part. After confronting the sushi chefs on this major flaw, I came to find out that literally NONEOFTHEMSPOKE A WORDOFENGLISH. And… Better yet, I speak Japanese. I may come off snobbish in this post but if you’re a sushi fanatic like we are… Go elsewhere.

I love this place!!! Great food, free parking across the street with their validation. I would def eat there more often if I didn’t live too far.

This is one of my favorite places in Stamford. All you can eat sushi is always good, but this is good quality. And the hot food is pretty good too! Not to mention, all you can drink hot or cold saki for only $ 7 extra! Amazing deal for a great meal.

As with most AYCE sushi joints, it’s quantity over quality here. Nevertheless, they do offer some great specialty rolls that will satisfy any huge craving for sushi(or a bottomless appetite). Skip most of the kitchen items; nothing is really that great besides the pepper tuna, and you don’t want to fill up prematurely. I recommend going straight for either maki, specialty rolls or sashimi(the nigiri is 90% rice, which you can also skip). Instead, order the Yummy roll, Butterfly roll, and Dragon roll, which are all delicious. I particularly love their rolls with fresh mango or mango sauce, which adds a perfect touch of sweetness without being overbearing. Their ice cream(ginger, green tea, and red bean) is also delicious, so save a little room at the end; this won’t be hard to do, as their scoops are very tiny. Service is fine and food comes out quickly, but they do sometimes leave orders off so pay attention to what you order and receive. They also offer free parking in the garage across the street, which is a nice touch.

I was impressed with this location. It is far better than Sushi X in West Haven. The rolls contained a good amount of fish, and they weren’t drowned in rice. The service was also better than the West Haven location; we didn’t have to wait long for refills on drinks or to be served. The ambiance in this restaurant is nice for a dinner date. I recommend the beef ribs. They were so juicy and flavorful. I tried the X roll(deep fried salmon and tuna). It was good. The Philadelphia roll came with a huge portion of salmon. This was the only«all-you-can-eat» restaurant where I felt I wasn’t cheated out of my money. Of course, just like any place in downtown Stamford, you have to find parking on the street or park in the garage. That was the only downside. Also, I feel that the kitchen menu should’ve been a bit more extensive.

For $ 38 and a huge appetite, you can make a killing here. All you can’t eat sushi for $ 24 and all you can drink sake for $ 8. Kitchen items, sashimi, maki, hand rolls, specialty rolls — they got it. Not amazing but it will satisfy your sushi addiction. They notoriously leave things off that you ordered so always over-order. Also, hot sake is better than cold sake.

Sushi X II is definitely the best sushi restaurant in town. A great selection of sushi and sashimi plus cooked food and dessert! The waitstaff is always very friendly and welcoming. I don’t ever finish a glass of water because it’s always refilled like that! The sushi is fresh and delicious and well made and not only that but it’s also all you can eat! The sushi chefs are great, friendly and polite. I come in at least once a week, more if I can help it! For $ 22 bucks it’s an absolute steal. I always leave happy and full! Ps. –ignore the fancy sushi«snobs,» this isn’t award winning, world renown sushi, but it is good, quality sushi for a great price –lunch special(ends at 3) is $ 15

Came here for all-you-can-eat! It’s definitely cheap enough to get four stars, but I docked a star because the sushi quality and selection is poor. Quality: The rice was flaky. The fish wasn’t very fresh. They also pack their sushi with avocado. Overall, the sushi was very meh. I recommend getting the spicy rolls because with the regular rolls, you really taste the fishiness. Selection: There aren’t that many choices for sushi once you take out the ones that don’t actually have real fish(e.g. synthetic crab, california roll, etc.). And of the ones remaining, the rolls with avocado have like 50% avocado and minimal fish. So once you remove those, there really are only a handful of rolls left. Service was poor but it’s relatively empty. So you don’t have to worry about seating or anything. And for all-you-can-eat, definitely a good price. But really, it’s worth about that much given the state of the sushi. Their cooked appetizers and ice cream are a lot better. Note that the fruit bowl option is canned pineapples and orange slices.

I would first like to preface this review with the fact that this is an AYCE place, so don’t expect world class quality. With that said… The selection is quite plentiful. The food is probably as good as it gets for an all you can eat buffet priced at $ 22+tax for dinner. I’ve seen greater selection of food from places like Ichi Umi in NYC or Todai(Formerly in White Plains), but for this price range, the selection and the food is great. What I am a big fan of is that the food are made to order. They are not prepared and place out on trays for people to go and pick into their plates. They will make them as you order, which means that each roll is relatively fresh. However, at times, the fish is not always fresh/well-prepared. I’ve been here many many times and once in a while, on very busy nights, they have a hard time keeping up with the orders. The service suffers a bit but more importantly, on occasions, we order white tuna and/or salmon sashimi and it was definitely frozen and had not thawed in time. However, other than that, the food is mostly good quality. Again, not Morimoto quality, but great for the price. Several draw back I do not like, which would have given this place 5 stars. Others have mentioned a few items, which is that their idea of certain dishes are lacking. Tuna Tartar is chopped up tuna, mashed with the tempura crunch. Not Great quality, but ok. Their Sushi and certain rolls tend to have too much rice, which drowns out the taste of the fish. They removed Eel sashimi from the menu, which happens to be one of my favorite. Other than that, everything else is good, the place is always busy on Thurs-Sun, which would sort of ensure that they are getting fresh shipment of food periodically. The place is as good as it gets for a $ 22+tax all you can eat sushi.

The sushi is amazing! I was so surprised how great the quality was for an all you can eat restaurant. It’s definitely worth going for the all you can eat — order from the kitchen and the sushi bar all for 20 $ish. Great Japanese recommendation in Stamford!

I love this place, but don’t get the sushi. The fish is fresh, but they pile on too much thick and flavorless rice. But if you like all-you-can-eat, you can still get your money’s worth by ordering sashimi, and other cooked and raw appetizers. You will still be very satisfied because everything, besides the sushi rolls, are delicious and fresh here. Especially the shumai! I think I ordered 7 plates of those for myself! You might find the waiter forgetting some dishes from time to time. Just remind them again. After all, everyone is ordering so much, it’s common and understandable that people would forget. Give this place a try. Only around $ 23 for stuffing your face. Plus, free unlimited ice cream!
